(Closed) Persona 5 Comic Dubs coming to Fanfic Radio

Project Overview

Fanfic Radio is a YouTube channel dedicated to showcasing awesome upcoming voice talent and the great fan stories fandoms everywhere bring to the table. We feature everything from audiodramas and comic dubs to interviews with veteran fanfiction writers.

We would like to invite you to join the Fanfic Radio family as we work on this new project. We are partnering with an amazing blogger who translates Japanese comics to English to bring the Persona 5 comics to YouTube. Right now, the artist has ready five short comics (all are pretty hilarious) and we have the video for the first one ready for recordings. 

So who are you casting for?
We would like to hold this casting call for the characters in the first episode as it's our pilot. We know that we're going to be needing voice actors for every single character in the game (minor or main), but for now we're starting off with just the ones in the first episode. Each role will list how many lines you have in the first episode to set your expectations.

Expectations once cast:
Once cast, we'll provide you with a link to the script of the episode you're in as well as a preview of the comic dub video so you can see for yourself the character's reaction.

We need to make sure to be respectful of your time, as well as other actors' and the writer, so please make sure to follow the deadlines once cast. If you can't, you'll need to inform us as soon as possible to plan accordingly.

The expected turnaround time is currently 14 days as the first episode is very short.

Things to note before auditioning:
1. Please make sure to check the reference for the original voices in the role descriptions below. It's necessary to be as close to the original as possible.

2. Please use a clean, clear recording with as little noise as possible as that's an example of the quality you're going to be using in the actual recordings.

  • Thank you everyone for auditioning for Episode 1

    *phew* That took us forever. We had a lot of great auditions that to be honest, we kept going back and forth about who to cast. You guys made it really difficult, haha. As of right now, everyone has been cast for Episode 1. That being said, more characters are actually going to be cast for Episode 2 that didn't appear on this casting call, so we highly recommend either following us here on CCC, or on Twitter, or even (if you're interested) let us know so we can private message you when the new casting call is open. Thank you everyone for auditioning. We really appreciate it and we're happy that this introduced you to us so we can work together now or on the future projects (coming soon).

Number of Lines in the first episode: Around 35 lines
Akira, if that's what you called him, is the protagonist of Persona 5. Due to some unfortunate events, he finds himself with a criminal record and shipped to a new town. All is good, however, as he makes a group of crazy friends and they embark on a crazy journey.

Akira tends to be mysterious, cool and collected. Sometimes. He's still a teen boy and will lose his cool in the comics as he finds himself in situations that are way beyond his comfort zone. Will this master phantom thief be able to survive? Well ... only one way to find out.

Where to even start with Ryuji. Ryuji is a true friend ... who also happens to be the one that usually drags you into trouble. He just can't help it. Tends to be rash and will take matters into his own hands. But he has a good heart.

Mishima is the Phantom Thieves' #1 fan. He idolizes them and is inspired by them to try new things in life. Well ... most of these new things might not be quite .... wise, but hey he'll try them anyway. He tends to be 'grounded' character in the group and is quite perceptive.

Sae Nijima is intelligent, professional and serious. A workaholic and very strict, both as a prosecutor and as an older sister to Mokoto. She has heard quite a lot of ... unlikely events from the protagonist while interrogating him. How long can she keep her composure, no one knows (that's a lie ... hint: not for long).

Ann is very kind, sweet and compassionate. For a while, she isolated herself from others because she noticed they only cared about her looks, but thanks to his group of goofy friends, she's no longer alone. She tends to be lively and energetic now always brightening her friends' day.
