Hello!!!
You might've seen my casting call for the Percy Jackson Comic Dubs a few months back, and if not then it doesn't matter! I'm going to be doing an audiobook of the first Percy Jackson book!
I've been wanting to do this for a while and I need voices! How many? For every single character that speaks! I want to give the chance to as many people to voice in something, even if it's minor.
RequirementsDecent audio quality with little/no background noise
Able to meet deadlines
Final ThoughtsNever be scared to audition. There are over 30 roles for this! Even if the character only speaks once or twice, I still want your voice!
This is also a completely free project. This is just for the pure fun and enjoyment of the books!
And any lines that don't have any specific emotion added to it means that you can do it however you want!
I never expected this many people to audition! I'm going to be going through them in the coming days, but please be patient with me. Thank you all for auditioning. I'll be messaging those I choose for main roles and side roles!

A Satyr that protects Percy. He's very anxious and get frightened easily, but he has his moments of excitement and cheerfulness. Very expressive. I think he has a higher voice, but give your best take of what you think he'd sound like.
One of the main roles!
"It’s a very sweet love story. I get misty-eyed every time I play it. So does Percy, but I think that’s because he’s laughing at me."
(Scared and worried) "Er, Percy...? We don't use the c-word to describe the Lord of the Sky."
"Look, Percy, I'm not as smart as Annabeth. I'm not as brave as you. But I'm pretty good at reading emotions. You're glad your dad is alive. You feel good that he's claimed you, and part of you wants to make him proud. That's why you mailed Medusa's head to Olympus. You wanted him to notice what you'd done."
Sally is the mother of Percy Jackson. She is described as loving and kind, worrying about her son. She just a very loving and worried mother. There is also a part in the where Percy meets a Nereid that sounds like his mother.
A Main Role
(Reassuringly) “I wish he could see you, Percy. He would be so proud.”
(Stern) "Percy. Tell me now."
(Sympathetic) "Do not judge the Lord of the Sea too harshly, he stands at the brink of an unwanted war. He has much to occupy his time. Besides, he is forbidden to help you directly. The gods may not show such favoritism."
A more middle aged man. A wise man that has seen many things. He gives advice to all the kids at camp.
"What better peace offering, than to have the son of Poseidon return Zeus's property?"
“Old Dionysus isn’t really mad. He just hates his job. He’s been... grounded, I guess you would say, and he can’t stand waiting another century before he’s allowed to go back to Olympus.”
Percy's step-dad. He's a gambler and a very bad person. So go wild with it. He's only in the one book so it's a one time role
"Got any cash?"
"You took a taxi from the bus station. Probably paid with a twenty. Got six, seven bucks in change. Somebody expects to live under this roof, he ought to carry his own weight."
(Mimicked falsetto) "Just a kid"
Percy's father. God of the seas. I'd imagine him having a more calm, but still very commanding voice.
Only shows up during the end portions of the first book.
(Laughing to yourself and trying to hide it) "He is proud and impulsive, it runs in the family."
(Reassuringly) "You did well, Perseus. DO not misunderstand me. Whatever else you do, know that you are mine. You are a true son of the Sea God."
(Sighing) "Your uncle has always had a flair for the dramatic exits. I think he would've done well as the god of theater"
A fury in disguise. She's from Georgia. Not much else, but she shows up throughout the series. (Doesn't have to be exact, just do your best)
"You've been giving us problems, honey."
"We are not fools, Percy Jackson. It was only a matter of time before we found you out. Confess, and you will suffer less pain."
Camp Director of Camp Half-Blood. He very much acts like he hates his job directing the camp. He was punished by Zeus. He really only cares for himself and his wife.
(Condescending) “And tell me, Perseus Jackson, what will people think of your ‘science’ two thousand years from now?”
(Annoyed) “Bad enough I’m confined to this miserable job, working with boys who don’t even believe!”
“What do they say, these days, Grover? Do the children say, ‘Well, duh!’?”
The Titan King. He is evil in every way possible. His voice booming and demanding. Cold and heavy.
He is sprinkled in the first book, so he's not too prominent.
"They have misled you, boy, it said. Barter with me. I will give you what you want."
(Hungrily) "Bring me the bolt. Strike a blow against the treacherous gods!"
God of War. Proud and impetuous. Seen as a very easily angered bully. I imagine him with a decently gritty voice, but it's up to you!
“Admit it, kid. You got no hope. I’m just toying with you.”
(Annoyed) “Why don’t I turn you into prairie dog and run you over with my Harley? Because I don’t feel like it."
(Angry, an almost growl) “You have made an enemy, godling. “You have sealed your fate. Every time you raise your blade in battle, every time you hope for success, you will feel my curse. Beware, Perseus Jackson. Beware.”
God of the Underworld, very bitter and negative. Though his voice is generally calm and reserved, he is capable of a violent temper.
“Only two requests? Arrogant child. As if you have not already taken enough. Speak, then. It amuses me not to strike you dead yet.”
(Yelling) “Decide, boy!”
(Threatening) “I took her. I knew, Percy Jackson, that you would come to bargain with me eventually. Return my helm, and perhaps I will let her go. She is not dead, you know. Not yet. But if you displease me, that will change.”
Thalia is brave and caring, but she's extremely stubborn, prideful, and assertive. Her temper being a big part of her character.
In the first book she only has one line, but if things progress then she'll obviously be a bigger character.
(Struggling) "Well, Seaweed Brain? One of us has to get out of here."
(Frustrated) "Oh, you're with me? What were you thinking back there in the gym, Percy? You'd take on Dr. Thorn all by yourself? You knew he was a monster! If we'd stuck together, we could've taken him without the Hunters getting involved. Annabeth might still be here. Did you think of that?"
"Father... I will not turn sixteen tomorrow. I will never turn sixteen. I won't let this prophecy be mine. I stand with my sister Artemis. Kronos will never tempt me again."
For these, just do any line from the other roles! There are so many side characters and minor one's. So do any line you want. Male, female, it doesn't matter. Just show off basically!
