The project is still going strong, and I am still actively looking for indie animators looking to debut on the Indie scene via YT as well as other talented VA’s for roles that are STILL OPEN and waiting to be cast for! Payment type is still DEFERRED. I appreciate all who have shown interest and followed this project since its conception back in 2017. It has been quite a journey since I was only 21 and had a vision for the kind of content creator I wanted to be. I am happy to say that this project is the type that I hope will touch peoples’ hearts no matter how old you are. UPDATE 6.13.2023


Thank you all for your continued support and Patience. I wanted to drop in to say PT is very much alive and kicking. I am still need of artists. But, I look forward to going through all these auditions and finalizing my amazing VA and Artist crew. This project will focus heavily on debut of the Pilot. From there it is based on success and how much of an audience the project will attract to its launch.

HAPPY 4th of JULY. Okay folks, so this year has been a wild ride. I hope everyone is staying safe due to Covid-19. I am in the process of finalizing the first episode for this web series. I AM IN NEED OF VOICE ACTORS STILL. NON-UNION ONLY PLEASE. This is a passion project that I will pay each voice actor by the # of lines per episode —and that will be soon!

NEED A PATIENCE BLACKEBURNE. She’s the lead as the story revolves around her. I was going to voice her but I can’t sing and I’d rather be able to focus on the art and production side. So, have at you1 I look forward to listening to your auditions.  There is singing in this show so please be able to sing.

ADDITIONAL NOTE 1/15/2020

I am so sorry that I have to do this but it is necessary so here I go. Due to someone personally harassing one of my voice actors in PM over not landing a  role I never guaranteed was theirs just because I extended an offer for them to audition, I need to state this clearly. NO CUSSING in the comments if it’s derogatory and meant to attack someone else’s hard work. Additionally, if you attack one of my voice actors in PM, I will report you. I am alright with people being frustrated, that’s fine. But message ME, and let me work it out with you. It shouldn’t be an issue on this site to have a certain level of professionalism even if you’re frustrated. I just wanted to state that for anyone else in the future. I want to make everyone happy but that’s not how this world works. What I can do, is always, always communicate in a civil way with each and every one of you and I would appreciate that same respect in return. Thank you for your time reading this! My goal is to make a successful team of voice actors who will help make Patience's Tale really pop, which in turn will help me get funding while also sharing an incredible story about our young witch friend! Thank you all! Feel free to audition for this.

This is a web series, check update. 

Okay so here’s the synopsis for this wonderful little quirky show. 

Patience Blackburne is the spirit of Halloween however she tends to get into mischief and mayhem a lot. She tends to get on the nerves of the other holidays with her crazy ideas for trickery and fun. She really wants to find her place amongst the holidays but that’s hard when your holiday isn’t considered to have any really value. She’s a commercialized holiday in the sense that she only exists to sell candy according to the other holidays. She wants to prove that there’s more to the magic of Halloween than poor dental care and throwing candy at strangers.

Samhain(Gaelic) the Hallow’s Eve original host, feels threatened by Patience’s existence. He plots to have her extinguished, permanently in order to save his own representation of Hallow’s Eve. 

Patience wants to get along with Samhain but due to her nature and her antics, she tends to walk on eggshells around the other holidays and she isn’t invited to any holiday games. She’s determined to be taken seriously though! When she meets Ethan Anderson, a moody artist loner whose mother doesn’t appreciate his dreams to be a writer since it’s not as practical, she takes it upon herself to help him remember the magic that comes with the freedom of expressing yourself.
However, there’s a small catch.
She may have more or less been responsible for why he now lingers between the plane of life and death due to trying to “help” him. 

So yes! There’s a lot to go on in this series but this is the general gist of the two main protagonists who have to learn to work together and overcome obstacles to find themselves and their roles in this life.

  • Extended Deadline

    12-13-2021 Hey all, So I have an important announcement. I have great VA’s, wonderful producers, an amazing overall team but I am lacking artists to help make Patience’s Tale really pop. I need storyboard artists and animators still, people looking for experience and an opportunity to be a part of a small project that could jump start the actual studio itself. Please audition as I am in need of these roles to be filled. I have an upcoming music video for Patience’s Tale and I would love if I could get some artistic support on it as I am just one person.   • Patience Casting Call

    I will be voicing Patience, but I’ve decided to take on an understudy in case something comes up and I need someone to cover for me. Feel free to keep auditioning. I’m looking to try to cast for the available characters by end of this week. Please have a decent Mic. I can’t stress enough how many times I have heard amazing voices and had to disqualify them based on mic quality alone.

  • December 4th update 2021

    This project is still active! For all those who are wondering the hardest part for this has been funding. I am looking for patient dedicated folks who are as passionate about getting this off the ground as I am and are looking at the journey not just the final destination. Financial compensation is something that is going to be further down the line after exposure on Patreon and YouTube allows for more crowd-funding. At this time I want to thank everyone who is following the project and for those who have patiently waited for me to get through all these auditions. I am still going through them but by the end of this week I will have cast for all roles.

Ethan had auburn hair, tied back into a small scraggly ponytail, small bangs that side-swept when he nervously ran his fair skinnned hand through his hair. He has some stubble on his face. He's got a medium voice but I'll leave it up to you. Just DONT MAKE HIS VOICE TOO DEEP. He's 20. When you inflect, take your time. I've noticed some people rush through their lines. No need! Take your time. TRY if you can to only do ONE TAKE per line. Thank you.

  • Whoa! What in the NAME of H-E- DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS?! (he saw Patience casually phase through his car and sit in the passenger seat. (lol) 

  • Look, what's it matter? At least you can use magic. What can I do? Nothing? I can't write a decent story. I can't protect anyone. I'm...compared to you...I'm a nobody. You're a somebody! You have Willis! As long as someone believes in you Patience, it doesn't matter if it isn't just anyone. It matters that it's someone!


    (Patience comes to her own realization thanks to his mini-rant. "You're right, Ethan. You're absolutely right. How could I have not seen that before? Thank you...you're the best!" )

Her brother is 17 and he's got auburn brown hair, brown eyes, a bit paler skin, gangly looking, voice is medium. Big Brotherly, protective, a bit hot-headed. He is childish in his own right though and Patience's love for magic and "fun" comes from him.

He's open to interpretation. He has pink and white hair, with blue eyes. He is 5'11. He wears a white toga and has wings on his back and wears little shoes with wings on them as well. He carries a gold bow and love arrows. Now, he's about spreading love but Valentine is a mixed bag himself. In a sense he's got a mix of tough love and he is quick to blurt what ison his mind without thinking. He doesn't like Patience very much because she tends to get in the way of his matchmaking at times. Overall, he's a confident guy who (has never been in love ironically enough. Though he does seem to love to spar verbally with Easter.)

  • I can totally believe it. It's Patience, so ....Patience. (snide)

  • Hey, hey don't shoot the messenger. It's called, tough love, sweetie. (to Easter.)

Younger, 11 years old, medium-medium high voice, spunky. 

  • If you don't come inside, I'll tell Ma and Pa! It's past night-time! We'll get in trouble! (Her brother is going firefly hunting) 

  • Brother... I'm scared! (in her bed, blanket around herself. The house is scary in the dark at night with the floors creaking. Her brother comes over with thefire-fliesin a jar.) Ah...pretty bugs. Really pretty. Thank you, Henry! 

  • Henry! Henry!


     ( he pushes her into the the bushes and is captured by witch hunters. Patience is deathly quiet, almost too scared to speak. )


     I didn't know it at the time. I had only mentioned magic to Sarah because my brother had told me it was so beautiful. I only wanted to win the argument. But this happened instead. All because of me. My brother is going to get in trouble. Because I was careless. 


    (She comes out as her brother tries to defend her location. He looks on in shock and horror but 11 year old Patience has a grim resolve.) 


    I am the witch. 


    (Henry shouts that he's the witch and he can prove it. The angry mob lets him demonstrate this, while restraining patience. ) 


    Henry! Henry, NO! 


    (Henry asks for a moment to talk to his sister, and they let him, almost afraid he will spell them. He tells a tearful patience that he will protect her, no matter what and that the "spell" will be broken when he proves her innocence. Patience doesn't know what this means. Until he is given the "water test" and he doesn't come back up.) 


    Henry... I'm sorry...I'm so so sorry. Forgive me... Forgive me... 


    (This is a heavily emotional scene, and I will say this: It is important to me that you can capture that. )

He can become younger in age but he spends most of his time as a Cranky old man.  He is younger in a scene or a free where he tricks patience and Ethan. Otherwise you need to be able to do a convincing old man voice 

  • I don't like her. She's too energetic. She gives Hallows Eve a bad name. Halloween. Yeah, "ween" like it's for little children. IT's not forlittelchildren. It is a celebration of darkness.  Fear. Mayhem! (Say this as his younger think mid30s self)

  • Don't make me out to be some washed up old bag of bones, child. I am far older, and far wiser. (He is younger in first half and from this point his voice is now an angry old man's like a powerful god)I am stronger than you ever will be. There is no one who knows your name and everyone who knows MINE. Remember that. You are a blip. A moment. Something that if I so much as blink, you will dissapear. I am infinite. You are just a passing memory. No one but that boy Ethan can see you after all, am I correct? (Laughs victoriously at Patience's beaten expression) I am right aren't I? Oh this is rich. You plan to "take" me on when the only belief you have on your side is that of a college drop out? He's all washed up and so you will be when I'm finished with you. 

  • Oh Dia, I don't know what I'm doing. Life is so boring. I want to make them scream. But then she comes along and throws CANDY at them. CANDY. I remember when All Hallows Eve was a time of shadows. This is a joke. Commercialism. There's no joy in scaring people who run around WANTING to be scared.

Patience is open to interpretation.  I however do not want an overly young high pitched tone for her. Think normal teenage girl sounding, 17-18 years of age. Young, slightly mature but lots of energy. She can be bubbly, but not whiny. You all have a fair shot but please do not be upset if in the end I end up still casting myself as her. I have an idea of how I want her to sound but I want to see how you talented people portray her as well in case it ends up being better.Character design at the moment is dark long wavy hair, windswept bangs, light olive skin, dark brown honey eyes, 5'5, wears a black dress, orange and black striped stockings, black boots, ankle high, and a black witch hat with purple stripes and a silver buckle in the middle. She has a wand in her small waist pouch. She’s determined, head strong, and hyper. 


Don’t worry if you’ve already auditioned! As long as I can see a link or something to something you’ve already sung or can sing, I will add it to your audition that already exists. 

  • I need to hear how you laugh, snicker, and giggle. 

    For those of you who auditioned already, if you could upload a separate take that involves singing perhaps your favorite Disney song just to help me get a feel for the sound of the voice when it sings. For those of you who haven’t, just include it here in the audition.

    Patience chuckled.

    “You’ve been like this since forever, loosen up, you fruit-loop!” She giggled, scratching Willis under the chin.

  • More than anything... I want to be accepted. I have that right don't I? Don't we all? NO matter who we are... no where is it set in stone that anyone has to be any one way...right? You're you...and I'm me. What makes us unique isn't the number of people that worship us or even "celebrate" our reason for existence. What makes us special is how we give back. If we don't give back then ....then you have no right to call yourself a "Holiday" because Holidays are there to bring something to people, not take. 

    (Samhain says something snooty) 


    That may be the way you did things,  but not anymore. Hallows Eve is about having fun! It's about laughter. Sure making people scream is fun but making them remember the excitement, that's why we do it. That's why I will never...become like you.

  • My name is Patience. Patience Blackburne. I'm the spirit of Halloween. Well, unofficially anyways. This is Willis. He's a spaz. But he's my spaz.  Meet Broomy as well. She's ah...she's special. She's my loyal broomstick doggie. (The broomstick magically takes the shape of a broomstick dog when not in use).

She's a fem fatale. She's sexy and yet she's actually kind of a "mother" death. Her dislike for Patience mostly stems from her loyalty to Samhain. They are friends since Eternity after all.  Not required, but if you can pull off a hispanic accent/latina that would be great. I want to kind of (if possible) have this cultural holiday variety. No worries if you can't though. 

  • Oh, this is the Holiday Bash. We were told that only official recognized Holidays could attend. It's alright, though. I suppose with technology nowadays, it's hard to catch every little bit of "spam" that manages to weasel it's way in. (referring to Patience's invite.)

  • Oh come on, don't be that way. She's just a child. She can hardly hold a candle to your reputation. 

  • She saved him. She didn't have to. Why would she do that? He wanted her dead. And I...I didn't try to stop him. Even though I should have. Even though I knew it was the right thing to do. I am a celebration of death... of balance...yet I allowed him to upset it by trying to take her life. And she only gave him his in return.

She's a typical older woman. She has a slightly rough around the edges kind of voice. She's a hardened woman who knows how to be headstrong and stubborn. She has an air of complete dominance as well. It's hard to get a word or an opinion in edge wise around this woman. She does care but it is in a very society driven way.

    (throws Ethan's stuff at him) 

  • Ethan Andersen! I won't have you convincing your little sister and brother that it's okay to be a failure! It's okay for them to believe in magic because they're just children, but I can't take your inability to grow up anymore!

  • Ethan, honey. I will always love you. I just can't have you being a bad influence that's all. Live with my brother. Your uncle Jerry. You remember him. He says he'll send you to the community college there.

Santa Claus is Father Christmas. He's Jolly. He tries to see the best in people. He is Patience's guardian  but he has better control of his temper than most of the holidays. He is one of Patience's few friends. 

  • (Santa Claus (1773 coca cola) is sitting at his desk, a six pack of Cola with his face on it, on the floor. He pops open one of the colas, taking a swig. )


     SANTA CLAUS :

     I can’t believe she did it again. 


    ( He is looking at a letter addressed to him from the Order of Seasons.)

  • Patience...please understand. It's not you. It's just not your time. I know when the time is right, you'll know. I want you to be happy. As your guardian, it is my duty to make sure that you perform your duties well. I have a letter here from the Order of Seasons stating you made a pumpkin fiasco occur. I want you to know that mistakes happen, but you need to start being more serious about your role. 

  • Patience isn't just some spirit trying to get by. Not to me. Ever since I met her I have always felt I wanted to help her. Not out of duty. Because I'm her friend. Because she's a part of my family.

Accents are welcome. She's an interesting bunny. She can be a boy too.  I leave this role as m/f because if I like the way a guy voices her I'll change her gender. It's totally open though. She's boy/girl right now only because I dont' have a specific gender she has to be.

Father Time is an old wise man in a dark silver and blue robe with a knarled staff that off the end hangs a pocket watch. He sounds old and wise. He has been around since the beginning of the world's creation. He is married to Mother Nature, and together they use their powers to maintain balance. Father Time can manipulate time but it comes at a price. Because of this, he often tries to aid his many "children" (the holidays +Order of Seasons) when they are faced with trouble.  He can alter his age to his own will and can alter the age of others(again at a price.) He is the one who first convinces Mother Nature to make Patience a Holiday. 

  • Like all seasons, change will come and go. From the past will the future be led by the present. 

  • Now, we must let young Patience and Ethan follow their hearts. It is from their own journey that time will tell what will become of their fates.

Spring.  Eldest Sibling of Samhain(Fall) and daughter of Mother Nature and Father Time.  She's generally bubbly, positive and really likes flowers and romance. She is sweet natured girl who is a bit quiet about her views of Patience. However, she sees all holidays as her "family". 

  • Oh boy, here we go again. Little brother is going to get all up and antsy pantsy about Patience. Again.

  • Oh I just love spring! The flowers! The romance! The flowers! I just love spring! I love the nature and the birds and foxes running through the trees. And the flowers! Did I already say flowers? (giggle) . Oh, pardon my rudeness. Hi, I'm Spring! Nice to meet you!

Summer is the second oldest of the 4. He likes the sun, alot. He gets tan very easily. He loves the fruits of the summer harvest. He's laid back but very serious about maintaining order. He doesn't like Patience very much because she tends to get into trouble with the other holidays and he is usually the deciding vote on how to deal with it. And he doesn't really believe in her. He doesn't understand why his parents let her become a holiday since it upsets his little brother so much. He's very family orientated so a blow to any member of his family feels like a blow to him. 

  • Patience did it again, huh? What to do, what to do. (deep sigh). Alright, I'll cast my vote. She must do community service for what she has done this time. She can clean up after Santa's Reindeer. That'll be a real jolly.

  • Hi, I'm Summer. I'm the 2nd Eldest son of Mother Nature and Father Time. I'm here today to get your vote on... (looks at Patience with disdain) what to do about Patience's involvement of a mortal boy in Holiday affairs. 

  • Hey, Samhain-- Fall, why don't you calm down a little? Mother wants to see you anyways. She says it's important. (concerned)

Winter is a cool woman. She keeps to herself and she helps see about the transition of fall to winter and then winter to spring. She assists with the symbolic end of old life and birth of new life. She is the youngest of the 4 Seasons. Even though she is the youngest, she strives hard to act old and wise. She wants to be depended on but internally she has low self-esteem and is worried constantly about letting her family down. She too, doesn't like Patience. 

  • I don't want to get involved with that girl any longer. I don't care what our Parents say. 

  • Take care, little bird. (she holds a little bird in her cold palms) Let's get you back to your family. Okay? (The bird shivers and she smiles) That's right. Don't be afraid. 

  • I don't need anyone's permission to help Samhain. He's right on some level, Summer. She's a threat. I'm going to talk to mother once more about renouncing her as a holiday. We aren't here to run a nursery for wild children! If Mother and Father want a "Halloween" we can always find a much more suitable candidate!

Quentin is 11 and is a twin to Jaime Anderson(his older sister of 1 min) . He's quiet and hates conflict. Bullied a lot for his quiet un-sporty nature. He likes to read and loves listening to Ethan's stories. He wants to be a writer just like Ethan. He also struggles with his mother's high expectations of him to become a S.T.E.M. model student when he's older. He's got a fiery temper though when provoked and isn't afraid to bite people who antagonize him. He's been sent to the principal's office for this.

Jaime Anderson is 11 and the older of the twins. She is very independent. She doesn't really get her two brothers and she loves her mom's praise so she does whatever she can to earn it. She takes it really hard when she isn't performing to her mom's standards. (When she gets an A her mom is proud but her mom is disappointed if it's an A- or B+ etc). She used to love Ethan's stories too but in an attempt to please her mom, she's curtailed her own artistic calling to try to become that perfect S.T.E.M. child. However it's made her withdrawn, snippy and anti-social. Still, she tries hard even though her real passion is singing and drawing. 

  • Ethan! Will you go to bed already? Some of us want to get beauty sleep. 

  • Artists don't pay the bills, Quentin. You know this. We need to be smart about our futures. Just like mom always says. She has our best interests at heart. 

    Quentin: Then why did dad leave us? 

    (strained pause)

    Jaime: Because dad sucks, okay? Now shut up and give me your cookie if you're not going to eat it. 

  • Look, Ethan. I'm not a child anymore. Go tell your stories to Quentin. I'm not interested.

Dullahan is a gruff, stoic, quiet body guard type based on the Celtic lore surrounding the headless horseman. He is “Death” in a sense. He has very little sense of humor, doesn’t understand jokes, and often is quite literal in how he interprets others conversations. He is loyal to Samhain and holds a disdain for Patience as she has many times made messes he’s had to personally clean up or else the balance of the world order would tip unfavorably. 

  • As you wish, Lord Samhain. I will recover both the boy....and the girl will meet her end.

  • Order can only be born if chaos is present.

He’s the manifestation of St. Patrick’s day cheer. He’s pompous, and snooty though and he gets under your foot—literally . He’s small but makes up for it by being 2x the dick. 


He’s funny though and more adult than some of the other Holidays. He enjoys drinking and singing. And dancing. He has a thick accent.  At times he can be very helpful or the worst party member.

Thanksgiving is gender neutral though the design will lean on a more masculine side. He pronouns will be used. He is quiet and patient but also has a very short fuse if you push the right buttons. He is cheerful and likes sharing good Cheer with others and has a pet turkey, Mr. GIBBLETS who despite patience’s mayhem, never dies.

He can influence someone to. Feel gracious and giving, even if they’re angry.

He’s reckless and impulsive with an explorer/crusader spirit. 

  • I love coming together to give thanks to our family and friends...and.... (disdain) I guess ...that includes even you, Patience

Sand Man is currently an anti-hero personality in this web series. He’s still under development, but he likes to wear top hats and butler suits. He sees himself as refined and sophisticated even if he’s mischievous and sarcastic. He does his own thing but he has a split personality. He has the power of creating good dreams or of creating horrible nightmares. 

For good children he gives them pleasant thoughts, but for children he deems are naughty, he gives them warning dreams and then nightmares depending on if his message doesn’t sink in for them. 


At this point, it’s hard to say what goes on the sand man’s mind.  He is one of the few Lores who finds Patience amusing and enjoys her company. 


Lore is a term that means, mythological creation based on tales kept alive by humans. 

Holiday is a term that means a special event created based on experiences kept alive by humans. 

Lores and Holidays live in the same universe. 

  • I can be your best dream...or a beautiful nightmare, but that all depends on them, darling. 

    (To Spring when she asks him why he would say he cares for children when he enjoys leaving them bad dreams)

  • Patience Blackburne. What an unexpected surprise. You want to... cast a sleeping spell on your friend so that you don’t have to confront him about your apparent relationship issues? I like that. It’s sneaky. It’s...so you. 


    (He can be a slime ball here. Amused and apathetic to her desperation to stop Ethan from severing ties with her completely)

  • Santa Claus can keep stuffing coal in their stockings. I prefer to be a bit more ...classy.
