My Hero Academia Abridged (Class 1A)
Project Overview
Hello everyone! We're working on a My Hero Academia abridged series and we can't do it without the help of some talented voice actors!
To make things easier, this casting call will only cover the students of Class 1A. We will be holding auditions for more characters down the line (namely characters specifically for the next few episodes) but for now we're only focused on these. As far as Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo are concerned, their roles were already cast.
Requirements for Voice Actors:
-Decent quality microphone
-As minimal background noise as possible
-The ability to be loud if required

Personality: Friendly and easily-excitable, but has a ferociously motivated interior.
Ochako Uraraka
Quirk: Zero Gravity
This bubbly filly is not your typical school girl. Beyond her gentle exterior is a fierce drive to earn money to support her family.
[Casual greeting followed by banter] Morning Deku~ You ready for today's quiz? I stayed up extra late studying since I figured I could sleep after I got through it.
[Determined, staring down opponent] So hot shot, you think you're so special just because you sweat nitroglycerine? I'm not going to let anyone get in my way, especially not you.
[On the verge of crying] But Papa... I just thought that maybe I could help out with the family business. I just want you to be happy...
Voice Range: Mid
Personality: Fairly level-headed and calm. Can get peeved but never truly angry.
Tsuyu Asui
Quirk: Frog
Why did the frog girl cross the road? This character wants to know. Being one of the more observant/inquisitive members of Class 1A, Tsu finds herself caught up in events she otherwise would remain out of.
[Off-put] You want me to eject my stomach right now? I didn't expect you to be into such weird things.
[Disappointed] Did you just make a pun? At my expense? That's not very nice you know. What if I chose to make fun of your dumb haircut? How would you feel then?
[Suspicious] Your power is like All Might's. It's almost as if they're the exact same. But that'd be silly. Because quirks don't work like that. Right, Midoriya?
Voice Range: Deep to Mid
Personality: Prudent, calm and collected. Thinks before acting almost always.
Momo Yaoyorozu
Quirk: Creation
The top of her class in both grades and cleavage, Momo has proven to be a tactful tactician in situations where most others would crumble.
[Passionately lecturing] Well I can't just create anything. I have to study and memorize the atomic structure of practically every common compound. Then, after determining which of those I need to create what I want, only then can I- Hey are you even listening?
[Confident] Look, I don't like him either, but if saving him means avoiding whatever repercussions come with leaving him to die, then I'm willing to take that chance.
[Embarrassed] You chose me so that I could be a model? I mean I'm not even really that pretty, let alone enough to be a model. But... for the sake of learning, I'm willing to try.
Voice Range: Mid to High
Personality: Spunky and energetic, but keeps her head on straight.
Mina Ashido
Quirk: Acid
As a quirky individual, Mina is viewed by her friends as the life of the party. But beyond her dancing and excitability lies a level-headed (albeit intellectually lacking), caring person.
[Overly friendly] Yo, Midoriya! How's about you join me in a little dance-off? Loser has to buy the winner lunch. (Free lunch here I come!)
{Consoling] Hey, don't get your stones in a twist. If you need help breaking down a rock, I'm your gal. ...I meant the boulder, not you.
[Comically outraged] This is so not fair! Just because we failed a test doesn't mean that we should have to clean the entire school! Yuga, Kyoka, get the protest signs.
Voice Range: Mid
Personality: Independent, Reserved, Confident
Kyoka Jiro
Quirk: Earphone Jack
Just your typical uninterested, independent, goth girl. Although she may seem laid back, she can give you a run for your money with her quirk. With the ability to hear through walls, cancel out sounds, and shatter the ground by channeling a loud heart beat through the amplifiers on her forearms, her power is no joke.
[Suggests teasingly] Just try doing that thing you do. You know, the one where you spew out electricity then go stupid for like ten minutes? Do that.
[Concerned, losing composure] Why are there so many of them? You'd think that ear-bleeding noise would scare them off but they're coming in like moths!
[Embarrassed/Uncomfortable] Just because we're looking through everyone's rooms doesn't mean we need to spend forever in mine. So can we go literally anywhere else already?
Voice Range: Mid to High
Personality: Excitable but easily embarrassed.
Toru Hagakure
Quirk: Invisibility
Toru is an upbeat, easy going, girl with a cheery attitude. She's quite friendly but can be quite shy at times, especially when she gets naked. No, it's not as bad as it sounds.
[Excited/Light-hearted] Oh! I see what you did there. Too bad you couldn't *see* what I did. (giggles)
[Frustrated] I'm invisible, not deaf. And even deaf people have feelings! Not that I don't... I just mean- Forget it.
[Embarrassed] Just because I'm invisible doesn't mean that I don't get embarrassed when you look at me like that.
Voice Range: Deep to Mid
Personality: Very focused, goal driven and formal.
Tenya Iida
Quirk: Engine
Tenya tends to be a little uptight and serious but only because he cares about his well being and the well being of his class mates. He strives to be a great leader and follow in the footsteps of his older brother whom he looks up to and respects as a leader, hero, and sibling.
[Strict/uptight] No Midoriya, you may not skip out on class to talk to All Might. ... I do not care if I am not the boss of you. You will listen to me as I am the louder of us and you are very much a pushover. Now back to your seat.
[Irked, confident] You think you're the first villain to threaten me? I'm not going to lose hope to the likes of you. I, the successor of Ingenium, will bring you to justice.
[Somber, lamentfu] Sorry Midoriya, I could not control myself and let you and several others get hurt. Please forgive me, and I will ensure that this never happens again.
Voice Range: Deep to Mid
Personality: Serious, Somber, Reserved
Shoto Todoroki
Quirk: Half-Cold Half-Hot
Despite having an incredibly powerful quirk and great skill Shoto is very somber and reserved. His childhood was filled with pain and frustration. He now lives with an overwhelming sense of resentment and pent up aggression against his father. He will begrudgingly use his fire quirk if he truly needs to otherwise he will refuse to utilize or even acknowledge the quirk he inherited from his father.
[Apathetic] I apologize in advance for your failure. It's not that you are in any way weak, it is just that this battle was determined as soon as you were matched against me.
[Frustrated] You don't understand. My right half is everything I despise about myself. If I use it, then he wins. Do you want that? Do you want him to win?
[Trying to sound badass but failing miserably] It seems as though this villain has been put... on ice. ... What? You're not the only one who can have fun and make jokes.
Voice Range: Mid
Personality: Brazen, but not brash. Heart of pure rock.
Eijiro Kirishima
Quirk: Hardening
The rock-hard son of a gun with no quit and an endless fighting spirit. Besides his bottomless bit of endurance, he is a mostly-chill dude, even if at times he can be a bit of a loud mouth.
{Casually cracking a joke] C'mon Katsuki. *Lighten* up. Ah? See what I did there? Huh? Hey, don't just walk away.
[Confident, though in pain] This isn't over! I'm going to get stronger. And then, I'm going to shatter you. Just you wait!
[Comically enraged] You think you can beat me you shiny recolor? Let's freaking go! RED RIOT UNBREAKABLE!!
Voice Range: High
Personality: Lustful, Creepy, Persistent
Minoru Mineta
Quirk: Pop off
This creepy purple cry baby is the nadir of character design and development. His quirk allows him to trap enemies or help him traverse walls and obstacles. He's a persistent perverted pest that somehow found his way into UA and inexplicably continues to pass his exams and training to remain enrolled in the academy. Also, nobody likes him.
[Casual, attempting to sound suave] Hey Midoriya, do you prefer bras or panties? Personally I'm a fan of thigh-highs.
[Attempting to sound confident] I don't care if it hurts. I'm going to pop every single one of my sticky balls and- Wow my quirk really sounds gross out loud, doesn't it? W-whatever!
[Attempting to sound not creepy] You know, all of you girls are invited into my room whenever. There's lots of stuff we can do. L-like video games or board games. Wait where are you going? I have more than just games you know! Come back! I just got a free trial for Netflix!!
Voice Range: Mid to High
Personality: Vain, Calm, Fabulous
Yuga Aoyama
Quirk: Navel Laser
When the time comes, you can count on Yuga Aoyama to remain calm in the face of adversity. This fabulous hero in training may be a little vain but who wouldn't be with his seemingly high level of self confidence! His quirk allows him to shoot a powerful laser out of his belly button and can either destroy enemies or propel him through the air.
My tum tum always hurts whenever I use my- Yes, I call it my tum tum. Is that not okay with you? That's what I thought.
Like I said, my tum tum always hurts when I- And there goes another. It's almost like nobody cares about my navel laser.
Did you know that a navel is a bellybutton? I didn't. I thought it was a fruit. So imagine my surprise when I found out that I didn't actually create citrus beams. Honestly, I almost would've preferred that as a quirk.

Personality: Reserved, Soft Spoken, Serious
Fumikage Tokoyami
Quirk: Dark Shadow
Tokoyami is a bird person with a powerful shadow. Much like Tenya, he's very focused. He's a fan of the dark, darkness, and overall anything dark. He knows his limits and isn't afraid to back down when he's reached them.
Dark Shadow acts as the culmination of Tokoyami's darkness, acting as a dark reminder of the beast within. We figured that means it'd be for the best if they shared the same voice actor.
My darkness can never be understood, for it is a darkness that broods darker than any other dark ever could. Imagine a black hole, covered with a blanket. Then close your eyes. That's how dark it is.
I appreciate your sentiment, Midoriya, but I do not wish to use a sleeping mask. Dark Shadow despises the dark. Along with everything that isn't dark. And everything else in existence.
[as Dark Shadow, panicking] THE LIGHT! IT BURNS! KILL IT WITH FIRE- OR ANYTHING THAT WON'T CAUSE MORE LIGHT!

Personality: Confident, Creep, Dunce
Denki Kaminari
Quirk: Electrification
Kaminari's quirk allows him to shock foes much like a certain unamed yellow rat with red cheeks. After delivering a powerful shock he turns into a complete and utter fool incapable of speech and coherent thought. He likes to hang out with ᴹᶦⁿᵉᵗᵃ and can be a bit of a pervert at times.
[Casually greets Mineta, spots Jiro mid-sentence] Hey Mineta, you wouldn't *believe* the drawings of Jiro I found last night. OH- Hey... It's you... That thing about the drawings? That was nothing... (laughs awkwardly)
[Overly dramatic before going completely braindead after shocking self] And then Denki said, let there be power! (shocks self) YaY I DiD It! (incohesively rambles on after having brain scrambled)
[Thrilled] Alright Jiro, you ready to rock and roll? ... Yes I am seriously excited about powering an amp. This is the culmination of our quirks' compatibility. How can you not be excited??
Voice Range: Deep to Mid
Personality: Noble and dignified, but not in a pompous manner.
Mashirao Ojiro
Quirk: Tail
Cautiously tries to keep himself and his friends out of danger, but has a tendency to find himself in it. However, his stoic demeanor and integrity keeps him from allowing himself to fully succumb to it.
[Polite] Hey Sero, you should come tree-swinging sometime with me. It's good exercise and keeps you and your quirk feeling fresh.
[Meek] Uraraka, can you touch my tail again? After you used your quirk on it the first time, I can't help but enjoy not having to lug it around everywhere. If you don't mind.
[Struggling to recall, concerned] I don't know why, but as soon as I started talking to him, I blacked out... And now I'm here... Be careful, Midoriya. Don't let him take advantage of you like he did me.
Voice Range: Mid
Personality: Easy-going, but also confident with a bit of sass.
Hanta Sero
Quirk: Tape
A down-to-earth breath of fresh air in Class 1A. Tells things as they are but isn't adverse to making a scene out of doing so. Generally friendly and fun to talk to.
[Casual banter] You know, I considered using some sort of animal as a theme for my hero schtick but everyone seems to have taken the best ones. Arachnid-person, Winged-beast-woman, even straight up Animal-boy. How can I compete with that?
[Annoyed] Just because you don't remember my name doesn't mean you get to call me "Background Character #3". ... "Tape Boy" isn't any better!
[Grows increasingly sarcastic] So should I wrap this guy up? It's your call. ... What? You expect me to float him to the jail? Or make him explode there? Or better yet, light him on fire before launching him out of an ice cannon!

Personality: Calm and gentle, though honest and upfront.
Mezo Shoji
Quirk: Dupli-Arms
The human multi-arm with one of the strangest abilities. But don't let his scary appearance fool you. In reality, he's a kind soul who cares deeply for his friends.
[Calmly, stating as a matter of fact] I am fortunate to be teamed with you and not Minoru. He likely would have turned this assignment into an attempt to look up the skirts of the opposing team.
[Irked but not angry] No, Minoru, you cannot ride on my arms to get a better view of Midnight. ... Because I'm not a human perch. ... That doesn't mean I'm not human.
[Consoling] Rest, Midoriya. I understand that your friend is in danger, but there is no need to overexert yourself- He's not your friend? Then why are you overexerting yourself for him?
Voice Range: Mid to High
Personality: Shy, almost never speaking.
Koji Koda
Quirk: Anivoice
Given that his best friends are the insects he is able to communicate with, it is understandable that Koji is not socially competent. As such he acts very shy and reserved around others, having an irrational fear of raising his voice too loud.
[Whimpers] ...
[Uncomfortable] M-my name is Koji Koda... and I don't know if I'm doing this right...
[Frustrated, coming out of shell] Y-you hate insects? W-what type of horrible person are you??
Voice Range: Deep to Mid
Personality: Normally aloof, but rambunctious when energized.
Rikido Sato
Quirk: Sugar Rush
Likes to make sweets. And give them to others. For what he lacks in skill self-awareness, he makes up for in calories.
[Casual banter] I don't like sugar ants. They give me the creeps. And they kinda interfere with my quirk. Ah! No offense, Koji!
[Surprised, endeared] You really like my sweets? I just threw whatever together like I usually do. It's not like my quirk is exactly picky.
[Motivated and fully energized] I'M READY TO TAKE NAMES AND SWALLOW ENTIRE CONTAINERS OF SUGAR! COME AT ME VILLAINS!
