Muddles' Madhouse (Original Animated Movie)
Project Overview
About the project:
Hello! I’m Sally Basler from Hooting Pictures. I am looking for voice actors to play characters in Muddles' Madhouse. This will be Hooting Pictures' SECOND feature film!
General plot: The year is 1929 and life under the big top is all a young Stewie Roberts has ever known. Left as a baby in the care of the ringmaster, Stewie never quite felt at home in Muddles’ Madhouse and as he approaches his 22nd birthday he begins to understand why.
Please note, Muddles' Madhouse deals with some PG-13 topics including occasional violence, depictions of blood and romantic situations.
Production on the movie will begin in early spring. It will remain in production for over a year. It is slated for a 2028 release.
I will be sending out the actors’ scripts within days of being cast and will provide deadlines. This project will also be on IMDB.
Once the movie is in production, I will give regular updates in the Hooting Pictures Discord server on how the progress is going. I always make sure to keep every actor in the know!
What you will need:
A Discord account! Please leave it in your audition description.
A good microphone and a quiet place with no background noise to record in.
A cooperative attitude and dedication to the project! Please make sure you're able to get your lines recorded and sent in a timely manner. I will provide deadlines.

Capricious was a former Ruler of the Underworld (Purgatory) who was intrusted with the power of visions and protection. Her personality is kind, caring and gentle. She cared deeply for her loved ones and the nightmares of the Underworld. She was current Ruler, Mask's lover (even though romantic relationships between Blood Bloods was prohibited).
Capricious lived during the Salem witch trials colonial Massachusetts in her Past Life. She was burned at the stack after suspicious of her practising witchcraft. Upon her death she was sent to the Underworld (Purgatory) because she actually was practising witchcraft.

Obsidian Black is an ex-Ruler of the Underworld (Purgatory) who used to possess the title of Gatekeeper of the Underworld and the ability to destroy any Nightmare. His personality is conniving, callous, slick and self-centred. He was banished to the Under-Underworld for committing a heinous crime against the Underworld and its rulership. He now seeks revenge in a young supposed human in the Overworld who is a descendant of Mother Demon (the woman he tried to coerce into overthrowing the Rulership with him). Obsidian Black will do anything to get his way.
Originating from 14th century, Obsidian Black was a graverobber during the Black Death in England. Upon his death he was sent to the Underworld because of the graverobbing and manipulation of families of the deceased.

I’m the Gatekeeper of the Underworld, thank you. Well… up until they replaced me with that do-goodie angel. So… former Gatekeeper. I won’t get into why.

Muddles is the one who raised Stewie during his Past Life up until Stewie's death (1907-1929). Muddles is also the founder and ringmaster of the circus, Muddles' Madhouse, which he and his lifelong friend, Edna (Mother Demon) stayed in during their escape to the Overworld from Obsidian Black. Muddles was left in the Overworld against his will to raise Stewie (Mother Demon's son).
Muddles' personality is reserved, organised, guarded and kind. But as ringmaster, he can certainly put on a show when the crowd demands it. He is a great showman.
Stewie views Muddles as his father figure and loves him very much. Muddles is not good at expressing his own emotions but deep down Stewie knows he loves him too.
Muddles is a Past Lifer originally from Ancient Greece (his demon form is a Devil Dragon). He lived in Ancient Rome as one of Mother Demon's servants but was also her best friend. He was sent to the Underworld (Purgatory) for accidentally killing a Roman guard. He and Mother Demon were trying to protect Muddles' sister (also a servant) and in the process, killed the guard by accident.

June's personality is kind, confident and compassionate.

Manny's personality is tough, jestful, rude and overly confident. He often takes things too far.

Claude's personality is jestful, impolite, naive and skittish. He normally does not question Manny's actions very often, but when he thinks things have gone too far, he won't stop him, but will voice his concern.

Gilbert is a rich investor who buys Muddles' Madhouse from Muddles at the beginning of the film. He comes from a very rich family who currently own the Pennyworth Players (a circus in California). Despite how these "rich investor" types usually go, Gilbert actually isn't a bad guy. He is just doing his best for his business. He begins dating June shortly after she breaks up with Stewie.
Gilbert's personality is confident, understanding and good-natured.

Roberto is Stewie's father and Mother Demon's lover. Roberto was a human in the Overworld. He was second generation Italian. (His parents immigrated from Italy to NYC before he was born.)
Roberto knew about Mother Demon and Muddles being demons from the Underworld. He was trustworthy and kept their secret from the public. Stewie does not remember Roberto. Very quickly after Stewie was born, he was given to Muddles to care for at the circus.
Roberto's personality is caring, trustworthy and kind. He may not fully understand all of the demon things, but he would do anything to protect his son, Stewie, even it meant leaving him in the hands of Muddles.
