  • THREE NEW ROLES POSTED FOR EXTRAS

Lend your voice talent to the show for a quick buck! TEN, actually. Now hiring three voice actors willing and talented enough to create pretty typical background noise and chatter you'd find in a secret underground tavern. Very akin to typical RPG or fantasy tavern background voices. Only about 30 seconds to a minute of total audio is necessary. Though more than that is always welcome! THREE ROLES OPEN for this! A female, a male, and either. However... only very unique background voices/chatter/noise will be accepted!
  • EXCELLENT AUDITIONS, EVERYONE!

The response to the vision the all-original Mondrea Memories audio drama has been MAGNIFICENT. First off, I want to thank each and every one of you who put forth the effort and lent your talent for a few minutes. Thank you so much for offering your gift for a short clip or two. You all sound so wonderful, and I wish you the very best in your future VA careers. In fact, I couldn't pass up on several of you, so if you received a follower notification from my profile, just know that I will be keeping tabs on your work, and just *might* have something to offer you in the future, hopefully - if all goes well with this show. Gotta follow the people you believe in, right? I'm keeping the deadline open for this project as we may be posting new *paying* roles that will be available soon. Keep an eye out for that, and feel free to audition if you feel your talent would match up perfectly. Again, I truly appreciate you all. Feel free to reach out to our newly-cast actors and congratulate them! They all fit the bill very well and I can't wait to hear them on the show. You should all check out the show when it's available for download! It will be on all mainstream podcast platforms THIS SUMMER! Stay tuned, -JET

* * * * * Payment is for about 9-11 total minutes of total audio, around 1595 words, fully acted and expressive. Payment will be $140. That is our max budget for this role. * * * * *

[NOTE] Sorry we cannot pay a huge amount - it's a new project by a small team with a small budget.  We need passionate, yet professional-minded individuals who are looking to add to their portfolio/experience/practice. Voice actors looking to get a start or experienced actors willing to take light compensation for their work are desired. We realize it's a stretch but you won't leave empty-handed, and you'll be glad to be a part of this unique show.

This character mostly holds private audiences with small groups of high-ranking officials, who he considers friends.
Voice must be able to have a Calm, yet Commanding presence in voice, before a large audience of townspeople, as well as a small room a devout followers. Calm, Authoritative, a bit of a Rasp, very Experienced/Mature, yet still Friendly and not totally Worn. Yet deeply concerned with the future of his people. Secretly a believer in faded ancient ways.
Akin to many fantasy king-like characters, yet a bit deeper and raspier and calmer. He is a very calming presence.

****NOTE ABOUT ACCENT****   English accent is only around 30 to 40% power here. Not too strong. Just a hint of proper RP English accent.
Sample Lines are rough copies of some of the King's lines, which have been a bit edited to conceal some major story elements.

  • (replying after giving a "flattering" remark to a colleague)
[KING] Oh don't be. It's leagues more entertaining than the same war headlines and sporadic fiction that gets sent up here every week. Actually, the latest regarding Encastille's defeat are why you're here. Do you know what they said of his last words?

  • (making an official announcement before the high council)
[KING] It is with great honor and high esteem that I announce my final decision to elect the new Finalian General... DONOVAN LENNOX.

  • (slightly emotional confession of a secret only he knows, to his most trusted General)
[KING] Two days ago, prior to the announcement of our defeat at the border, he was here. He stood exactly where you stand now, in this vestibule... but, keeled over in a fit of rage and discomfiture. He quickly fell to his knees when he saw me leave my bedchamber... not to bow in my presence, as formalities trained him, no. He collapsed. As I called out to the attending guards just outside, naught but a few simple, yet striking words escaped his bloody war-torn lips. The guards came in, absolutely baffled. No one knew how he got here, and in a blinding crack of light he was gone.

* * * * * Payment is for about 3-5 total minutes of total audio, around 530 words, fully acted and expressive. Payment will be $80. * * * * *

[NOTE] Sorry we cannot pay a huge amount - it's a new project by a small team with a small budget.  But we believe the rate is fair according to the Indie Project Rate Guide suggestions.

This is a small part in one episode of our show in which a group of adventurers enter the private chambers of a legendary Pirate Queen. She has spent most of her life building a secret underground society in large repurposed caverns miles beneath the surface of the desert planet. No one outside of this underground pirate utopia has ever seen her face, as she is quite reclusive and private in all matters of life, business, or otherwise.

She is a Tired, Mature voice, with an immense Calming nature that befalls anyone who enters her presence. Her diction and tone are not Slurred, but have a Quaint Gravitas that inhibit all of her visitors' speech and actions. She is not overly Seductive in her speech, but with enough time listening to her say the same thing over and over, anyone can be seduced. Almost Hypnotic, yet not Threatening or Creepy. It's a subtle Trance-inducing, Experienced voice. Can be known to be just a pinch Sarcastic at times. Keep her words slow and calm. yet powerful.

********** NOTE NOTE NOTE *********     REGARDING Accent: Not absolutely required, but if you could blend in a SLIGHT Eastern European influence to her speech, that would deepen the character a bit more. No full on Russian or Slavic accents.     Just a tiny taste of it.     Maybe only 15-25% of Eastern European present.

Sample Lines (rough copies of some of the Queen's lines, which have been a bit edited to conceal some major story elements) You don't need to record all of them, just a few that you feel really capture the emotion of that part of the scene. Several lines have been included below to help in finding the spectrum of her emotions emitted in this part.

Something to remember for your sample audition lines: The Queen has quite a range in emotion, but through it all, she still remains very calm, cool, collected, and almost seductive. Maybe try Sultry.... Not too saucy though. Try and keep that vibe through the every different line and response.

Thanks!

  • (her disguised attendant announces she has visitors without a prior appointment)
[V] But of course. Let them in. And take off that lousy get-up will you, dear?

(accepting the visitors into her room, already knowing who their leader is, and seeing through their disguises)
[V] You do me a great reverence, General Lennox of Finalia, to bring yourself and your compatriots into my chamber, alongside my very best hunter.... the three of you clad in our own colors and rags.... ha ha hah (sighing laughter) ahahahaha....

  • (getting a bit serious, she recollects her place in this world, and how it will be reinstated when all is done)
[V] We are all but pillars of dust on this ruined planet. We take a few breaths... exchange a few words... have a few laughs... and then, should fortune bless us so, we get to be dust once more. The cycle runs and runs, dears.
    Your "nations" will fall.
Until all that remains... is dust. You and you, and you.. and yes... even you, General... if you're lucky. If your descendants are lucky.     You will ALL join me in the DUST.        Voltura is. was. and will be.

  • (reveals she has seen the treasure they're after)
[V] I know what you seek. Trust me... I've seen it. But you know how my city, how my people, operate...     What they believe.    We do not covet the riches your "royalty" of the deserts above claim is of value. The REAL value in life is to love... To be loved.... and to have love.... GIVE... LOVE. (chuckles slightly) Make....  love.      Alas, if you must know, your fabled treasure IS REAL, my darling Hazel.    But it is not the treasure you truly seek...    You know that.

This is a small part in one episode of our show in which a group of adventurers enter a hidden underground pirate tavern in a cave deep beneath the desert, where this character works in disguise as the bartender.

*ONLY VERSATILE, PASSIONATE VOICE ACTORS FOR THIS ONE!*

She is a hearty, sly "saucy southern"  pirate queen's daughter who is tasked with upholding her mother's kingdom, yet she resists that much responsibility, and to make money a bit easier, she works undercover as a fat, short, hairy, slimy, distrusting, very haggardly and rough, Scottish/Dwarven bartender.

*ACCENT/SPEECH NOTES!*    Her speech as the pirate should *not* be classic pirate-like at all.  It should be kinda flirty-sounding, yet not too seductive.  Her natural accent is akin to classic American Southern female, youthful, but not whiny. Voice Age should be around 20 years old.   Maybe 1/3 Hannah Montana, 1/3 lazy big sister, 1/3 southern belle...    Her accent should change drastically when she is in her dwarven bartender disguise.   Think classic fat/hairy fantasy dwarf imitation done by a 20 year old girl.  Quite exaggerated and funny, but believable if she was in the right disguise.   Thick Scottish would be a good accent to draw from for this side of her.   You should be able to flow from one accent to another in the same group of lines, as she peeks out from her disguise (see sample lines for audition).

Sample Lines have been a bit edited to conceal some major story elements.  Just a few to really capture the emotion of that part of the scene, feel her wide spectrum of vocal range.
Thanks!

  • [GESS]   (scottish/slimey-hairy-dwarf accent, herein indicated with bold-italics for audition)   'OI. Welcome in.  'Ahv ah seat, friends.    What cannae gitchah?!     (whispered:)OH SHIT. 'the hell are YOUUU doin' back 'ere, mate?

(Other character sees through her disguise instantly, knows it's her, and calls her name)

[GESS] (whispered, normal accent) HEY. HUSH. I'M WORKIN', MAN.  You know it's "Gess" when I'm WORKIN'.  (pronounced "guess")  Now, are we slammin' some ale or what?

  • (her regular voice - southern-like accent, concerned, slightly disappointed)
[GESS] ................................. AAGGGHH, Haze, you tear my heart up like paper, throw me to the wind, and don't bother piece'n for mah shreds evratime you step in here, you know it? (switch) MA! Haze is here to see ya. And she brought friends.

  • (she leads her friends to a new ship. really slips in and out of her disguised voice on command)
[GESS] AH, ISS ALRIGHT, I'VE GOT A BIT OF AN ERRAND DOWN HERE ANYEWAEESS......  OHP! LOOKIE!  THERE SHE BE!  Not a single chip in the paint, LASSIE, or I'll 'ave ya for DINNAH!  AAAHAHAHAHA  OHP. WHO'VE WE GOT 'ERE?! C'MON OUTTA THERE LITTLE LADY!
("he" finds a young girl playing hide and seek behind the ship in the hangar, this girl asks if they're still playing their perpetual game of hide and seek)

[GESS] WHA- BUT AREN'T WE ALWAYS? NOW HURRY BACK UP TO THE PUB AND HIDE AGAIN! I'LL FIND YA QUICKER THIS TIME, SWEAR IT!  *You take good care of mom's ship, or I'M PAYING FOR IT, HAZE.

This is a small role in a future episode.  Total of about 15 lines.
Need a male with a slight proper (RP) English accent... but ghastly and ancient.  Ghost-like, without being spooky.  Terrifying and shaken, omnipresent and yet imprisoned within the walls of an ancient book.  Give us your best "trapped soul of an ancient tyrant" voice.   Booming, yet calmly powerful.

Do not yell.  This man has been trapped in an ancient tome for over 1,000 years.  You wouldn't have the strength to yell either.

Do not sound like a typical elderly man.  His soul is encased within a book, and souls don't age.  He should be around 30 to 40 years old.

Deep, worn, gravelly gravitas is good, but we will pay special attention to those who try something different with medium or even higher tones.  But no comical/clownlike falsettos.

Ancient, sage-like, all-knowing, all-powerful, yet reduced to a sheaf of scrap.

  • Halt.     You seek... pain.     Know... the Nightmare
    Know the balance.   The Sacrifice.
...And you wish to take this Dream???

  • Refused your mortal realm.   Thrown into dark.    Open your eye.

  • (very weakened here, his true state revealed)
DO.... NOT.... FEAR......   release me, O Champion.

A small part in a flashback during our show.

This male character would be the wise-cracking playful guide to the main character, but in this case, he is in trouble, and can't be the typical smartass in this new show.

His voice should sound somewhere between 20-30 years old, slightly nerdy, know-it-all... and yet still smooth.   Like a kind of... attractive adult nerd.   But the scene he's in puts him in a dire situation, in which he experiences pain and death for the first time in his life.  Typical North American accents needed, with slight region variations of your choosing optional.

See the image in the icon for this character for an idea of what he looks like.  If all else fails, try to find a voice that would align with that image.

It's a very short part with only a few lines that will need to be directed very exact, and cannot waver much from the vision of our director.  Pay will be $15.  If you do well, you may have more future lines in a role that could be available to you in future seasons of our show.

  • Hey! .... c'mon... I know you can still hear me....

  • Not for long.  My memories... OUR memories... they're fading. Fast.  Someone's severed our connection.

  • (*in vanishing/dying anguish*)
It's ... dark..... it's becoming so...  cold....  This must be what you call.... pain.  This must be... hurt.
