[NOTE] Sorry we cannot pay a huge amount - it's a new project by a small team with a small budget.  But we believe the rate is fair according to the Indie Project Rate Guide suggestions.  We need passionate, yet professional-minded individuals who are looking to add to their portfolio/experience/practice. Voice actors looking to get a start or experienced actors willing to take light compensation for their work are desired. We realize it's a stretch but you won't leave empty-handed, and you'll be glad to be a part of this unique show.

This is a small part in one episode of our show in which a group of adventurers enter a hidden underground pirate tavern in a cave deep beneath the desert, where this character works in disguise as the bartender.

*ONLY VERSATILE, PASSIONATE VOICE ACTORS FOR THIS ONE!*

She is a hearty, sly "saucy southern"  pirate queen's daughter who is tasked with upholding her mother's kingdom, yet she resists that much responsibility, and to make money a bit easier, she works undercover as a fat, short, hairy, slimy, distrusting, very haggardly and rough, Scottish/Dwarven bartender.

*ACCENT/SPEECH NOTES!*    Her speech as the pirate should *not* be classic pirate-like at all.  It should be kinda flirty-sounding, yet not too seductive.  Her natural accent is akin to classic American Southern female, youthful, but not whiny. Voice Age should be around 20 years old.   Maybe 1/3 Hannah Montana, 1/3 lazy big sister, 1/3 southern belle...    Her accent should change drastically when she is in her dwarven bartender disguise.   Think classic fat/hairy fantasy dwarf imitation done by a 20 year old girl.  Quite exaggerated and funny, but believable if she was in the right disguise.   Thick Scottish would be a good accent to draw from for this side of her.   You should be able to flow from one accent to another in the same group of lines, as she peeks out from her disguise (see sample lines for audition).

Sample Lines have been a bit edited to conceal some major story elements.  Just a few to really capture the emotion of that part of the scene, feel her wide spectrum of vocal range.
Thanks!

  • [GESS]   (scottish/slimey-hairy-dwarf accent, herein indicated with bold-italics for audition)   'OI. Welcome in.  'Ahv ah seat, friends.    What cannae gitchah?!     (whispered:)OH SHIT. 'the hell are YOUUU doin' back 'ere, mate?

(Other character sees through her disguise instantly, knows it's her, and calls her name)

[GESS] (whispered, normal accent) HEY. HUSH. I'M WORKIN', MAN.  You know it's "Gess" when I'm WORKIN'.  (pronounced "guess")  Now, are we slammin' some ale or what?

  • (her regular voice - southern-like accent, concerned, slightly disappointed)
[GESS] ................................. AAGGGHH, Haze, you tear my heart up like paper, throw me to the wind, and don't bother piece'n for mah shreds evratime you step in here, you know it? (switch) MA! Haze is here to see ya. And she brought friends.
