MHA: Breaking Limits- Jon Magami VA
Project Overview
Character Information
Name: Jon Magami
Hero name: Aegis Prime
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Heritage: Half Japanese, half British
Affiliation: U.A. High School, Class 1-A
Quirk: Ultra Quirk
Jon Magami is one of the central protagonists of the story. Having recently returned to Japan after living in England, he enrols at U.A. with the ambition of becoming a hero who can protect others without becoming the kind of man his father tried to make him.
At first, Jon appears calm, capable and unusually mature for his age. Underneath that composure, however, he is awkward, insecure and carrying years of unresolved trauma. He often hides his fear behind dry humour and understated confidence.
Jon is compassionate, fiercely loyal and instinctively protective, but his greatest flaw is his willingness to sacrifice himself. When someone he loves is threatened—especially his childhood friend Mina Ashido—his restraint can collapse, allowing the enormous power of his Ultra Quirk to overwhelm him.
His journey is not simply about becoming stronger. It is about confronting guilt, accepting help and learning that protecting people does not mean destroying himself in the process.
Voice Description
Jon should have a youthful mid-to-low teenage voice. His voice can carry some weight, but he must still sound sixteen rather than like a fully grown action hero.
A natural or subtle British accent would suit his background, although an exaggerated “posh” accent is not wanted.
His vocal personality combines:
Teen Gohan’s kindness and moral heart
Fjord’s understated charm and insecurity
Future Trunks’ decisiveness in combat
Nightwing’s cheeky, relaxed humour
These are performance references only. We are looking for the actor’s own interpretation, not an impression of an existing character or performer.
In ordinary conversation, Jon is warm, restrained and quietly funny. Around people he trusts, particularly Mina, his softer and more playful side emerges. During combat, his delivery becomes focused, authoritative and intense.
The actor must be able to perform:
Natural teenage conversation
Dry and self-deprecating humour
Gentle romantic and affectionate scenes
Fear, grief, guilt and emotional breakdowns
Calm heroic determination
Anger without becoming one-note
Sustained action sequences and powerful attack calls
Quieter scenes in which Jon attempts to conceal what he is feeling
Content Notice
Jon’s storyline contains themes of childhood trauma, parental abuse, guilt, violence, bereavement and self-destructive behaviour. Applicants should be comfortable performing emotionally demanding material.
Audition Instructions
Please submit clean, unedited audio recorded in a quiet environment.
Line 1 — Casual, dry humour “I’m not brooding. I’m thinking. Brooding requires rain, a rooftop and much more dramatic lighting.”
Line 2 — Warm and teasing with Mina “You know, Pinky, for someone who keeps calling me ‘Hero Boy,’ you spend an awful lot of time rescuing me.”
Line 3 — Quiet vulnerability “They keep telling me I saved everyone. But when I close my eyes, that isn’t what I remember. I remember losing control—and how easy it felt.”

A reliable microphone and willingness to meet agreed deadlines are required.
The selected actor must be comfortable receiving direction and committing to a major recurring role.

Jon is powerful, but power alone is not what defines him. The successful performance will capture the vulnerable teenager beneath Aegis Prime: a boy who can face an army without flinching, yet struggles to believe that he deserves the same protection and love he gives everyone else.
Thank you for auditioning. I look forward to hearing your interpretation of Jon Magami.

Jon turned just in time to see Mina sprinting across the arena. His eyes widened. "Mina, wait-" She launched herself at him. Jon caught her for half a second before his tired legs Jon caught her for half a second before his tired legs gave out. They both crashed backward onto the broken concrete, Mina landing right on top of him. "Ow, Jon wheezed.
Jon blinked up at her, breathless. "Yeah..." He gave a tired smile. "I guess I did."
Jon turning around to see Mina with a surprised tone “ oh hey Mina, thought you were at the Dorms”

Character Description
Denki Kaminari is one of Jon Magami’s classmates and friends in U.A. High School’s Class 1-A. He is sociable, energetic, excitable and naturally funny, often using humour to lighten tense situations. Although Denki sometimes acts impulsively or makes himself look foolish, he is not unintelligent or cowardly. Beneath the jokes is a loyal young hero who genuinely cares about his classmates.
Denki’s performance must balance comedy with sincerity. His humour should feel natural rather than exaggerated, and when a situation becomes dangerous, the audience should believe that he is frightened but still willing to fight.
Voice Direction
We are looking for a youthful, bright and expressive voice with strong comedic timing. Denki speaks quickly when excited and often sounds as though his thoughts are moving faster than his mouth.
The actor must also be able to deliver:
Playful banter and awkward comedy
Excited reactions
Embarrassment and nervous rambling
Genuine concern for his friends
Serious and emotionally grounded dialogue
Safe combat shouts, electrical attacks and exertion sounds
Kyle Phillips’ performance may be used as a general tonal reference, but we are not requesting an exact imitation. Please bring your own personality to Denki while remaining faithful to the character.
Kaminari yelled, "MAGAMI, YOU ABSOLUTE BEAST!"
Then Kaminari's voice rang from the stands. "WHOOOO! GET IT, MAGAMI!"
Jiro elbowed him hard in the ribs “OW! What?”

Character Description
Kyoka Jiro is one of Jon Magami’s classmates and friends in U.A. High School’s Class 1-A. She is observant, level-headed and armed with a sharp, dry sense of humour. Jiro frequently acts as the grounded voice in the room, particularly when Kaminari or the other students become overly excited.
Although she can appear guarded or sarcastic, Jiro is deeply compassionate. She notices when her friends are struggling, even when they attempt to hide it, and her quieter emotional moments should carry genuine warmth. Music is an essential part of her identity, but she sometimes feels vulnerable when sharing that side of herself.
Voice Direction
We are looking for a youthful low-to-medium voice with a relaxed, slightly husky quality. Jiro’s sarcasm should be understated and natural rather than openly cruel. Her emotional delivery is often restrained, allowing concern or affection to emerge through subtle changes in tone.
The actor must be able to deliver:
Dry humour and deadpan reactions
Teasing banter, particularly with Kaminari
Quiet emotional vulnerability
Genuine concern and compassion
Confident musical dialogue
Serious tactical commands
Safe combat shouts, pain reactions and exertion sounds
Trina Nishimura’s performance may be used as a general tonal reference, but we are not requesting an exact imitation. An original performance that captures Jiro’s personality is encouraged.
Jiro exhaled, a small smile tugging at her mouth. "Guess the air-punching worked."
Jiro elbowed Kaminari hard in the ribs. "Idiot!"
Jiro reacts to another one of Kaminari’s questionable ideas. “That was your plan? Charge straight in, yell something dramatic and hope physics felt sorry for you? Honestly, I don’t know why I expected anything else.”
