Character Description
Kyoka Jiro is one of Jon Magami’s classmates and friends in U.A. High School’s Class 1-A. She is observant, level-headed and armed with a sharp, dry sense of humour. Jiro frequently acts as the grounded voice in the room, particularly when Kaminari or the other students become overly excited.
Although she can appear guarded or sarcastic, Jiro is deeply compassionate. She notices when her friends are struggling, even when they attempt to hide it, and her quieter emotional moments should carry genuine warmth. Music is an essential part of her identity, but she sometimes feels vulnerable when sharing that side of herself.
Voice Direction
We are looking for a youthful low-to-medium voice with a relaxed, slightly husky quality. Jiro’s sarcasm should be understated and natural rather than openly cruel. Her emotional delivery is often restrained, allowing concern or affection to emerge through subtle changes in tone.
The actor must be able to deliver:
Dry humour and deadpan reactions
Teasing banter, particularly with Kaminari
Quiet emotional vulnerability
Genuine concern and compassion
Confident musical dialogue
Serious tactical commands
Safe combat shouts, pain reactions and exertion sounds
Trina Nishimura’s performance may be used as a general tonal reference, but we are not requesting an exact imitation. An original performance that captures Jiro’s personality is encouraged.
Jiro exhaled, a small smile tugging at her mouth. "Guess the air-punching worked."
Jiro elbowed Kaminari hard in the ribs. "Idiot!"
Jiro reacts to another one of Kaminari’s questionable ideas. “That was your plan? Charge straight in, yell something dramatic and hope physics felt sorry for you? Honestly, I don’t know why I expected anything else.”
