Synopsis:
The search comes to an ultimate head when Spider-Man comes face to face with Aunt May’s captor. Will he find where she is being kept before it’s too late? And how far is he willing to go in order to save her?...
Introduction:
Hello everyone! My name is David Kemp (aka DK or MasterDK). I am a YouTuber who produces content centered around music, opinionated discussions, and of course voice work. This type of project is very much a first for me, but I have so far made tremendous progress in completing it, along with many amazing voice talents. Not only do I get to share my love of comics to the fullest but I can work with and grow friendships with the lovely VA community. I look forward to what comes out of this final addition to this dub series and what you all bring to the table.
There are a total of 22 issues in Marvel Knights Spider-Man and there are separate story arcs across them, but I am mainly focusing on the one from issues 1-12. This specific casting call will be for “The Last Stand” arc, which is the final part of this story.
For this project, I’ll be providing the voice for Peter Parker / Spider-Man, as I have in the previous dubs.
You may notice there are a lot of minor roles to fill. Some of them are even unnamed. I encourage everyone to try and audition for multiple roles. Because you might end up landing more than one, whether it be all minor or a combination of major and minor. All unnamed roles will be credited in the final product as “Additional Voices”.
Rules:
A Discord is preferred if you have one, as I have a server for this project. If you do, be sure to include it in your audition. If not, you can request that I give you everything you need solely through email, along with your email address.
You must have a good microphone. One that is clear and at least close to studio quality. No cheap laptop, phone or headset mics. It would be distracting otherwise. Try to keep out background noises as well. Edit out any mistakes you make. I can work with most audio and can always give it tweaks if needed. But I cannot make it sound good if it is simply too sloppy.
4. It is important to note that this project is UNPAID, and will be focused on experience and not money. I promise to give credit to everyone who participates and will promote your main outlets to my YouTube audience. I will converse with you regarding how you wish to be credited on the project after your parts are given.
5. If you land a role or more than one, you will need to be very attentive of where your lines are. Your script will be the comic itself. You will need to pay close attention to where your lines are delivered, everything down to the one-word interjections you might have, so that you don’t miss lines when recording. If you need help identifying a certain line, I will assist you.
6. Make sure you have a large range of emotional delivery, as I would like the different layers of these characters’ personalities and emotions to really shine through in this dub. Whatever emotion the character displays in that panel, that’s what should be translated into your vocal performance. It may be difficult if for example, you are in an environment where you can’t be loud and/or give it your all. Also I must note that if you are going to be loud, avoid peaking in your recordings. I’ll try my best to minimize it myself through the editing process, but in order for it to sound more natural, try and avoid it as much as possible.
A young child Peter is shown in a flashback of a heart-to-heart with his uncle Ben. Go for what you feel a young Spider-Man would sound like as a kid.
"(crying) It just kinda hit me that...if you're 20 or 30 years older than all the moms and dads, that means when everyone else's parents hit 40 and 50...you...you and Aunt May....Well you and Aunt May might not be here anymore! And I'll be left on my own again!"
Peter Parker’s uncle, who doubled as a father figure to him. He was shot and killed by a burglar when Peter was only 15, which would help propel him into the spider he is today. He appears in a flashback sequence in this story. Looking for an older male voice with a likable personality.
“You okay in there, Petey?”
“We’re from good stock, kiddo. And besides, we promised your mom and dad that if anything happened to them, we’d be here to look after you, right? Do I look like the kind of guy who’s gonna let down his little brother?”
One of Spider-Man’s most intelligent and popular rivals. In Marvel Knights, he finds himself in a form of mental instability and goes on crazed rampages. For this role, I will need an insane mad scientist-type delivery.
“Osborn escaping? That just won’t do at all.. This requires a plan with some serious legs.”
“OSBORN! GOT TO KILL OSBORN!”
One of Spider-Man’s villains that can assume the disguise of anyone seamlessly, even replicating their voices. He is present in the final battle of the Sinister Twelve. Somewhat young male voice with a Russian accent.
“Oh god, would somebody just hit this clown??”

The giant rock-hard bruiser of the Fantastic Four. He, with the rest of his teammates, fights off the Sinister Twelve in the final battle. Looking for a roaring, charismatic voice. (1 line)
“Heads up honey! That freaky kisser a’ yours is just about to get a little uglier!”
One of the prison guards of Norman Osborn’s cell, who refuses to allow the other guards to go in and kill Osborn.
“I dunno man. I mean my heart goes out to Scotty and everything, but I got a wife and kids to think about. If I lose this job…”
A prison guard looking to kill Norman Osborn in an act of revenge for the murder of his wife.
“I gotta do something positive if I’m gonna feel better, and what could be more positive than emptying a shell right in the face of that piece of crap sleeping in there?”
One of the prison guards in pursuit of Spider-Man in his attempt to free Norman Osborn from his cell. (1 line)
“Guys, this is Traynor down in delta! Close off the exit now before they hit the open water!”
“He asked what was up and I told him, man. I thought Doc Ock was supposed to be under control anyway.”
A man whose home is invaded accidentally by Spider-Man and Venom during their brawl.
"Jeezus! Behind me honey! Call the cops!”
Prison guards in the facility holding Norman Osborn, some of which wish to secretly put an end to him. 4 male voices needed.
“Listen. Nobody’s asking you to do anything illegal here, Hadyn. All we’re asking you to do is look the other way for a second.”
“The hell are you talking about? Osborn’s sitting there doing a jigsaw in the corner of the room.”
“Jeezus! Get a medical team down here!”
Civilians witnessing the final battle. (M) = Male, (F) = Female. 4 male voices and 1 female voice needed.
“(F) Mother of mercy!”
“(M) You the man, dude! You the friggin man!”
“(M) Sure Spider-Man! You saved us! That was awesome dude! Greatest thing I ever saw in my life!”
Doctors helping to keep Otto Octavius sedated. (M) = Male, (F) = Female. 1 male and 1 female voice needed.
“(F) So what do we do about Otto Octavius? He’s primed to go off this time tomorrow night..”
“(M) It’s not that simple. He’s been programmed with a mission, but it’s all about the balance. We don’t want him so doped up he can't remember his name.”
