LAWDOGS: LOOKING FOR OUR MAIN CHARACTER

LAWDOGS: LOOKING FOR OUR MAIN CHARACTER

Project Overview

Dee & Dipper run a firm together in the 1950's as struggling lawyers and face dark troubles. (This is a work in progress)

Hey! We are looking for someone to really nail the role of our main character Dipper McGann. Mostly referred to as McGann. Are you up for it?

These voice auditions are for storyboards, comic dubs, or short animations.
Once you get accepted as the official voice actor for any character you picked, you will be brought into a discord server.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

1. You must be 18 or over to get a role.

2. You must have Paypal or Cashapp. Nothing else will go (at the moment).

3. You must be willing to be in this long term project, if you ever choose to leave for serious reasons then that is completely fine.

4. You must have prior experience to voice acting.

5. You must have a clear microphone with quality to it. Which includes no background noise or random buzzing.

  • Noticed a few things

I’ve noticed many of you aren’t incorporating the Midwestern inflection as directed. Additionally, the Matthew Lillard style strained quality I’m looking for is still largely absent. Please deliver your lines with greater energy and vocal presence.

While McGann’s accent is fundamentally Standard American, it shouldn’t come across as flat or forgettable. Give it more texture, more personality, more umf. So the voice feels alive rather than neutral.

One more new reference is Pawbert from Zootopia. Just the way he speaks not the voice entirely itself.

Mr. McGann, (26), speaks with a naturally raspy, strained Standard American accent touched by only faint midwestern accents. His voice should be more (not overly) higher pitched so he doesn’t sound older than he is. He’s often underestimated because he’s a Jack Russel / Corgi mix so that brings out this nervous energy. Compensating by shifting to an underdog sleaze!

So what I’m really looking for is someone who can capture both his fake confidence side and cutting corners nervous dog side. Highs and lows. Here's another piece of advice for your audition in case you need it: We really wanna capture that natural vibe nothing overly cartoony or samey in delivery.

If you don't understand what I mean you can always ask me in DMS or the comments of this post.

Totally impossible… unless, of course, someone were to, say, (whisper) not call this number and not go to this address and absolutely not illegally double back to get that claim processed. (Normal) Which, obviously, I am not suggesting."

  • [Defeated, not overly nervy] "I’m sorry that I messed up… I thought I had it.. but- guess it didn’t work out."
