Killing Eternity: Demo

Killing Eternity: Demo

Project Overview

Killing Eternity is a narrative-driven visual novel with mystery and psychological thriller elements, developed in Unity.

The game takes place in the near future - a world where the cult of personality has replaced ideology. At the center of this world is AUP, the Advanced United Project, a corporation that operates above borders and governments. Founded by Christopher Ultman, AUP doesn't manufacture products - it manufactures legends.

The Visionaries are AUP's greatest creation: talented individuals handpicked from across the globe and transformed into living idols. Their talent becomes a commodity, their image becomes gospel, and their lives become aspirational content for millions. In a world where media presence matters more than anything else, being a Visionary means you've reached the peak.

You play as Emily Wada, a sociologist who has created something revolutionary: a predictive system capable of forecasting major events in the near future. Her invention catches AUP's attention, and she receives an invitation to their headquarters.

It looks like the opportunity of a lifetime. She accepts.

Sociologist Emily Wada sought to study the genius of the chosen few. Now she's trapped on Whisper Island with other Visionaries, and the only path to freedom is dismantling the system itself.

Current Casting

We are currently casting for the playable demo of Killing Eternity.

Emily Wada has already been cast. This casting call is for the following roles:

  • - Sam Iwasaki

  • - Francesco De'Rose

  • - Whispy

The demo will be partially voiced. The key story scenes, character introductions, emotional moments, major jokes, and important mystery explanations will be fully voiced. Smaller lines will be supported with reusable voice snippets so the dialogue still feels alive.

Estimated Demo Recording Scope

These numbers are approximate and may shift slightly during final editing, but they represent the current planned scope for the demo. The snippet count includes very short reactions, one-word responses, and small character-specific phrases, not only full dialogue lines.

This is a small indie demo with a modest current voice budget, so we want the workload to be transparent: each role's planned scope is listed upfront before auditioning.

Sam Iwasaki
  • - Full voiced lines: around 135

  • - Reusable voice snippets / short reactions: around 33

  • - Total estimated items including snippets: around 168

Sam has a lot of comedy, panic, and fast emotional reactions, so his role relies heavily on timing and expressive delivery.

Francesco De'Rose
  • - Full voiced lines: around 83

  • - Reusable voice snippets / short reactions: around 25

  • - Total estimated items including snippets: around 108

Francesco has fewer lines than Sam, but his delivery depends on restraint, deadpan timing, and subtle tension.

Whispy
  • - Full voiced lines: around 106

  • - Reusable voice snippets / short reactions: around 32

  • - Total estimated items including snippets: around 138

Whispy is a central presence in the demo. His role requires polished charisma, dry amusement, unsettling calm, and emotional range.

Reusable Voice Snippets

In addition to fully voiced lines, each actor will be asked to record a small set of reusable short reactions and character-specific phrases. These will help support partially voiced dialogue boxes and keep scenes feeling alive without requiring every single line to be fully voiced.

Platform: PC: Windows, Mac

Content warning: violence, blood, psychological manipulation, and character death.

Requirements
  • - Age: 17+

  • - Language: English

  • - Mic Quality: clean microphone setup with minimal background noise

  • - Communication: Discord preferred, email is also possible if needed

  • - Turnaround: flexible, but reliable communication is important

The audition deadline is flexible. It may close earlier if the right voices are found quickly, or be extended slightly if more time is needed.

Actors should be comfortable with emotional scenes, dark humor, and dialogue-heavy storytelling.

Project Roadmap

Our current goal is to finish and release a strong playable demo - something polished enough to present publicly on Steam and show what Killing Eternity is, not just as a concept, but as a real story with a voice, tone, and identity.

The demo focuses on a small part of the cast: four characters from a much larger ensemble planned for the full game, currently built around seventeen main characters. It is meant to introduce the tone, the world, and the kind of character-driven mystery we want to build further.

If the demo finds its audience, the next step is Kickstarter and full development. Actors cast for the demo may have the opportunity to continue with their roles in the full game, depending on availability, funding, and mutual interest.

About Us

UNIVAXEL Studio is a small indie team working on Killing Eternity because we genuinely care about the world, characters, and story we're building. This is not a corporate project or a quick content piece - it's something we've been shaping with a lot of attention, discussion, revision, and love.

We're a group of writers, artists, composers, programmers, and designers trying to make a game that feels sharp, emotional, stylish, and memorable. We value communication, creative input, and people who care about the details.

Lecter will be your main point of contact for voice direction and feedback. We work primarily through Discord, keeping the process flexible but professional. If you have creative suggestions or want to try different approaches to a performance, we welcome that.

We're looking for actors who don't just want to read lines, but want to help these characters feel alive.

Latest Updates

  • Audition Deadline Closed

    Hey everyone!

The audition deadline has now closed. Thank you so much to everyone who submitted. The response was honestly unreal, and we really appreciate the amount of interest and support the project received.

From here, the team and I will need some time to go through the auditions again and narrow everything down. Once we have a smaller group of finalists, we may reach out to ask a few extra questions so we can make sure the final choices are the best fit for the roles and the project.

With this many submissions, we want to take the decision seriously and not rush it.

Thank you again for auditioning and for supporting Killing Eternity!

  • Audition Deadline Moved Up to May 14th

Hey everyone! The response we've received has been genuinely overwhelming in the best way, thank you all so much!

I wanted to let everyone know that the deadline has been moved up to May 14th.
There's still time if you haven't submitted yet!

My team and I will be listening to every submission that comes in before the deadline.
One thing worth noting: due to a browser bug causing freezes, I've been listening to all recordings through the raw file rather than the player on the site, so it may not show as "listened" on your end even if it has been. Submissions are being reviewed daily.

Due to the volume of auditions, I'm not able to leave feedback on every single one. If you'd like to hear my personal thoughts on your submission, feel free to reach out directly on CCC or on Discord at lecteropen. I'll get back to everyone as I'm able!

Every single one of you is helping this project get off the ground. We're grateful for the enthusiasm and for everyone who gave it a shot!

  • Sam is a stylish young traveler with bright, emotionally reactive energy, quick reactions, and a habit of joking when things get bad. He talks fast under pressure, tries to make scary situations feel manageable, and often says exactly the wrong thing at the wrong time. He can seem unserious at first, but he is observant, empathetic, and sharper than people expect.
  • Sam should feel charming, anxious, funny, and human. His comedy comes from timing and fear, not from being a fool.

Personality

  • Francesco is a calm, guarded chef with dry humor and strong self-control. He speaks carefully, observes more than he says, and rarely wastes words. He often seems composed in situations where most people would panic, which can make him feel reassuring or suspicious depending on the moment.
  • His humor is understated and deadpan. He is not cold or emotionless; he simply refuses to let other people see every reaction. The performance should feel restrained, intelligent, and quietly tense without becoming flat.

Voice Description

  • Medium-low pitch. Calm, mature, restrained, deadpan. Minimal exaggeration. Should sound composed and intelligent, not flat or robotic. Needs subtle emotional pressure under controlled delivery.

  • "I'm a chef, Emily. I know my way around knives, not cryptography. I checked my vitals and waited." (Calm, dry, slightly defensive)

  • "First I checked if I was dead. I wasn't. Then I checked if I knew where I was. I didn't. That took most of it." (Dry understatement, controlled)

  • "Why? If I wanted to avoid attention, I wouldn't show anyone the scanner. At all." (Accused, calm, slightly offended)

Whispy

Paid: Flat Rate 30 USD

Personality

  • Whispy is a talking shark mascot in a business suit, but he should not sound like a goofy cartoon villain. He is clever, controlled, amused, and dangerous in a quiet way. He likes rules, pressure, and watching people think, but his humor is dry rather than wacky.
  • There is charm in him, but it should feel slightly wrong. He can be playful, even funny, but there should always be intelligence underneath it. Later, the act gets harder for him to hold together, revealing anger, loneliness, and fear.
  • Whispy should feel entertaining without becoming silly, threatening without constantly trying to sound evil.

Voice Description

  • Medium-low pitch preferred. Smooth, intelligent, charismatic, lightly theatrical. Dry amusement, precise sarcasm, and the sense that he knows more than he says. Avoid cackling cartoon mascot or over-the-top game-show host energy. Needs emotional range for moments when he starts losing that calm.

  • "Have you ever been alone in a basement with full building access and no adult supervision? You start making plans!" (Casual, amused, disturbing)

  • "...This was my Decommissioning. They passed. Fairly. You promised. You promised you wouldn't interfere!" (Betrayed, angry, trying not to lose control)
