Kaldheim Week 5

Kaldheim Week 5

Project Overview

Wizards of the Coast has begun releasing online web fiction for Magic: the Gathering once again! It is our goal on the Voice of All podcast to bring these stories to life through audio.

This week we are casting for roles in the last two Kaldheim stories: The Battle for Kaldheim and The Saga of Lathril. Kaldheim is their brand new norse inspired world and we have many major roles to cast. You can read the stories here:

If you're interested in hearing our past works, you can listen to all of them here:

We can also be found on Spotify, Soundcloud, Stitcher, YouTube, iTunes, and Google Podcasts! We are looking to keep up with the release of Wizards' stories as best as possible and will release our version the second following Friday, so expect to be cast this week and have your lines to me within a few days. This schedule may be slightly different for the time being as they are releasing two stories a week, but our schedule will remain one a week.

As a general casting note, I do not typically have any voice requirements in mind for characters. I would much rather hear your interpretations and choose from among them.

Voice Actor
Sigrid, God-Favored
closed
Paid: Flat Rate 10 USD
Role assigned to: andrastae

Sigrid is the spiritual leader of the Beskir. Long ago, Sigrid's ancestor Hurrik saved the god Alrund's life. As thanks, Alrund gifted the whole of Feltmark to Hurrik and his descendants and gave them his protective blessing. Alrund's word remains true, and Sigrid carries the same blessing. Here she is calm, but forceful, resolved to be the leader and adjudicator in the room.

  • "Enough! I didn't invite you into my hold to insult my guests, Fynn. I invited you to discuss how our people might live out the week."

  • "Trolls, demons, giants—both frost and fire—rampaging through the realm. And now I hear reports of draugr, which means the Dread Marn, Karfell's dead army, has returned. Yes, I would say the odds are against us. But we have weapons yet with which to fight."

  • "He did. But he took the secrets of how to wield it to the grave."

Harald, King of Skemfar

Paid: Flat Rate 15 USD
Role assigned to: Paul Warren

King of the elves of Skemfar, uniter of the tribes of Wood and Shadow. Though Harald has lead his people here with the intention of destroying the gods and taking the realms back for his people, he is trusting and willing to forego this goal in favor of the greater good and the safety of this people. Even if it means working with people he absolutely abhors.

  • [in response to "So... your brother is-"]

"A fool. And a braggard. But not a liar. He prevented me from making a mistake, here. I am thankful for that."

  • "And I never thought I'd be helping one of the usurper gods. But it seems you're the only one who can set this mess right."

  • "What is so important about this accursed bridge? What, precisely, is on the other side?"

Halvar, God of Battle

Paid: Flat Rate 10 USD
Role assigned to: Anthony

Halvar is selfless, stalwart, unwavering, and always the most sensible person in any room. He's an accomplished warrior but is more likely to lead by example than with inspiring speeches. He speaks with a quiet confidence that leads most people to trust him instinctively, especially in times of crisis. Within our story he battles hundred of monsters simply to protect a small village of humans on the other side of a bridge.

  • "You're not here to try and cross this bridge too, are you?"

  • "The sword Koll was forging before—before he fell... I never thought it would be an elf returning it to me."

  • "Hold the bridge until I can separate the realms once more."

Vorinclex

Paid: Flat Rate 15 USD
Role assigned to: Duality Dubs

Vorinclex is a Phyrexian monstrosity, sent tp Kaldheim to retrieve a sample of the World Tree's sap for unknown, nefarious purposes. Vorinclex's one rule is "survival of the fittest" and his entire powerset and being are built around taking the best aspects of those he kills.

Vorinclex's voice is described as "an odd amalgamation of tones and deliveries, as if the words had been stolen from other voices, synthesized into something new". These are his only lines, but I expect this to be a difficult task. Feel free to use any effects you feel appropriate, but please tell in your comment what you used.

  • "Not enough hunger in you. Not enough fear to survive. Soon, though."

  • "Sample acquired. I am ready to return."

Lathril
closed
Paid: Flat Rate 20 USD
Role assigned to: KrysJanaeVO

Lathril is a god among elves, a master swordswoman and a natural leader. She accepted a trial to gain her ascension in order to protect her people, but at the cost of most of her sight. With a wolf as her seeing eye dog, she travels the realms to help those in need. In this story she is most often soft and gentle, speaking with pups and young children.

  • "You'll stay with us until we can take you to safety." [to a small girl she has just saved]

  • "I believe I've found one of your children."

  • "I have, and I accept the gift that she has given me in her service." [thankful to a powerful creature]

Lyana

Paid: Flat Rate 15 USD
Role assigned to: Mish

Lyana is a young blind girl. A mage who has not yet come into her power under the protection of Sarulf, the wolven Cosmos Monster. She is observant for her age, but still very childish in her manner.

  • "They took my wooooolf!" [crying]

  • "I tried to fight them off, and then she came." [Explaining what happened. Slightly accusatory]

  • "What's your wolf's name?"
