Juliet Syndrome (2nd Wave of Characters/Casting)

Juliet Syndrome (2nd Wave of Characters/Casting)

Project Overview

Character designs are kept private for the time being to avoid spoilers, but their first reveal will be on CCC. Think of them as little gifts for auditioning! Admittedly, I am also curious how you fare without a character appearance to guide you.

"Looking for the perfect girl, Romeo?

Then look no further than the all-new, wonderful line of Juliets!

So pretty, so dreamy ♡ She'll be whoever you want her to be.

She remembers your schedule, your favorites... even the things you say in your sleep.

And thanks to our state-of-the-art LoveSync system, every Juliet can develop habits, interests and expressions tailored just for her beloved.

So why spend another day alone?

Buy a bride today!

Built with love, for love."

Introduction: In a near-future city, YomeTech has released to the public their masterpiece: the Juliets. According to the manual, every android is specifically designed to be a man's bride. But with the company's top-ranked bridedroid beginning to question the life she's made to accept, could it be their worst mistake instead?

Founder's note: Salutations! I'm Verona, JSyn's solo founder. I handle the funding, writing, programming, audio editing, and merchandise production (art prints, acrylic stands and more!). Funnily enough, this began because younger-me wasn't thrilled about reading Shakespeare in class. I thought, why not a twisted take on the classic? And now, here we are.

Important: Even if the project's artstyle is reminiscent of Panty & Stocking, it tackles mature themes such as abuse.

-

General requirements: Strictly 18 and up, due to the project's themes. Clean recording, no background noise to make editing easier. If casted, you will receive access to files with exclusive lore, worldbuilding and character details that can help guide your performance. Kindly keep this information confidential.

Miscellaneous details: Not required. You may add things (laughter, gasps or additional lines) to your audition if you feel they capture the character well.

Notes: this is the second casting call wave! The first one contains the "main characters" (or essentially the ones you will see more often since the ones here contain more spoilers). If a character doesn't get casted in the first wave, they will be added to this.

Thank you for checking out Juliet Syndrome (JSyn), whether you came to audition or were just curious.

Latest Updates

  • Juliet Syndrome Update: New roles soon, and reauditions are open ♡

Reopened auditions for Reagan (a main character) in this second casting call wave. I haven't settled on a voice that hits the right spot for her- so right now I expanded my search.

I will be opening audition slots for other side characters/antagonists (both male and female). Keep an eye out! 👁 YomeTech is always watching 👁

  • Juliet Syndrome Update 1.0

Good day, applicants! I will be closing Julius's role soon so I can begin my selection, but will extend Metatron's deadline.

In the meantime, expect me to add other characters that I need voiced. Thank you for your patience!

Character description

A helper bot whose brilliance is greater than his size, created and operated on by none other than The Doctor. But don't be fooled by his cutesy beeps and equally-cute appearance! After all, Metatron's duty is to The Doctor first and foremost. Not only does he shadow his creator's every move, but he also follows around the Juliets... to help doll them up!

Traits: curious, devoted, eager, friendly

Note: Metatron has significantly fewer lines than the other characters, but his role involves distressful screams/cries and coughing at some point in his storyline. Please only audition if you are comfortable with that.

Voice direction (optional, suggestion)

Medium to high. Sounds like any other child, but in a way where you can tell he is not human—you'd think he is a robot, or mistake him as an alien. I don't really gender his voice and don't mind if your audition ends up sounding feminine. Although I may gravitate towards a masculine version, please don't be afraid to shoot your shot!

(This role is closed. I will accept the ones I received already. But from now on, please avoid submitting anything past October 13, 2026.)

Character description

Side character, secondary antagonist. One of YomeTech's high-ranking security officers, popular with the Juliets thanks to his looks. Not the sharpest tool in the shed and is quite image-conscious, but he excels at managing his emotions.

Known to be among The Doctor's trusted employees. Though, for some reason he's also one of Lexi's closest confidants in the company she claims to hate so much. Now that the tension between his boss and friend has grown the heaviest it's ever been, just where will Julius's loyalties lie?

Traits: competitive, blunt, go-with-the-flow/relaxed, self-centered

Voice direction (optional, suggestion)

Medium to low. At the moment, he's the character whose voice I struggle to describe. Though, I can tell you his vibes: he's laid-back, and confident to the point it crosses arrogance. A bit of a cool/tough guy stereotype. Despite his status as an antagonist, he doesn't sound malicious.

Character description

A mischievous flirt of a bridedroid. The catch? She only ever flirts with women, especially her fellow Juliets. She refuses to do the same around men. No matter how many times they attempt to overwrite the error, she's still, at her core, "broken." When she's not being a daredevil, she likes to collect little things that humans own. Such as buttons, letters, and accessories like ribbons and neckties. She has them stocked in her station.

Traits: bold, rebellious, playful, cunning

Voice direction (optional, suggestion)

Medium/low (preferred) to semi-high. Speaks with a rasp, either slight or more noticeable. Enjoys teasing others and often sounds playful, but must also be capable of genuine vulnerability. Strong expressive acting is preferred over a stereotypical "seductive" performance. Honestly, she's more so tomboyish than feminine.

  • "End of the line, big guy. Hand over our girl, and we'll spare you." (smug)

  • "Keep up! We're never gonna make it to the orientation at this rate... and who knows what crap they'll pull on us?" (in a hurry, frustrated)

  • "I hate how badly I loved someone I couldn't even have..." (heartbroken)

Officer 'Brutus'
Voice Actor Voice Actor
Officer 'Brutus'
open
Paid: Flat Rate 10 USD

Side character, secondary antagonist. No one knows this man's true name, which he claims is irrelevant to the job. What they do know is that he's YomeTech's best patrol officer, right up there with Julius. He'd earned his title with his violence (and apparently stupidity).

Management loves Brutus; he knows how to put the bridedroids in their place. The problem? He can be an insufferable asshole about it.

Traits: volatile, typically laid-back when not peeved, aggressive, the arrogant bully trope

Important: Like the Doctor, this character is misogynistic and lesbophobic. Although no slurs, his dialogue can still be disturbing. Please audition only if you're comfortable portraying this character type.

Voice direction (optional, suggestion)
Medium to low, but he doesn't need to sound particularly intimidating. He more so acts dismissive. Unlike the Doctor, who thrives on controlling women, Brutus benefits from the system and does what he wants simply because he can get away with it.

Language:
  • english
Voice description:

  • *scoffs* "You talk way too bold for a 'bride' who doesn't get how weddings work." (dismissive)

  • "It's you girls again. Starting to think you break the rules just to see me." (casual, but with the hint of inappropriate flirtation)

  • "Ha. Nah. The boss has unfinished business with that small piece of junk." (smug, amused)

Harp
Voice Actor Voice Actor
Harp
open
Paid: Flat Rate 10 USD

Side character, secondary antagonist. The elder of the Doctor's twin daughters, both of which deemed royalty in YomeTech premises. As the possible inheritor, it's no surprise Harp is a stickler for the rules despite her age. Yes, that involves burying her nose deep in the Juliet handbook and trying to memorize it.

Far more difficult to read, she prefers her sister and Metatron's company. No matter how polite she may appear, however, Harp enjoys engaging in daily twin shenanigans with Lyre.

Traits: mellow, diligent, emotionally detached, respectful

Important: not required, but singing experience would be nice. Or just being able to hum well. The kids sometimes hum the OST during the game. Lovable as they are, they can be a little creepy lol.

Voice direction (optional, suggestion)
High, child-like but softer and calmer/blanker than her sister's, since she thinks more clearly than Lyre and has an image to maintain.

Language:
  • english
Voice description:
  • female child
  • "...and which of us is Lyre?" | "...or is it just too hard?" (intro, goes hand-in-hand with Lyre's quote)

  • "Papa doesn't like you very much. But Lyre says your hair is pretty and I think your stories are weird. So, stay." (just rambling like a child)

  • "Um, don't be out late. I heard from Papa that really... really bad things happen to Juliets at night..." (anxious, solemn)

Lyre
Voice Actor Voice Actor
Lyre
open
Paid: Flat Rate 10 USD

Side character, secondary antagonist. The Doctor's younger twin daughter. Spoiled rotten, Lyre is unafraid to weaponize her bubbliness—both intentionally and unintentionally. As such, she treats serious situations like games and doesn't realize the harm her gullibility causes.

Made her pout one too many times? Into her father's office you go! Word of advice: just be sure to treat Lyre like a princess (and remember the names of her plushies), and you should be fine.

Traits: childish, naive, reckless, bubbly

Important: not required, but singing experience would be nice. Or just being able to hum well. The kids sometimes hum the OST during the game. Lovable as they are, they can be a little creepy lol.

Voice direction (optional, suggestion)
High, child-like. She sounds quite innocent and generally sweet, though she can pout or turn into a brat when she doesn't immediately get her away.

Language:
  • english
Voice description:
  • female child
  • "Which of us is Harp..." | "Can you tell us apart..." (intro, goes hand-in-hand with Harp's quote)

  • "No! No leaving! You're staying in our dollhouse forever!" (bratty)

  • *sniffles* "But it's not... it's not the right shade of pink. I wanted *baby* pink, not neon pink." *pouting noise* (tearful, about to throw a fit)
