Joining the Search - A LOZ, TOTK Comic dub
Project Overview
“Joining the Search” is a short, six-page, Legend of Zelda comic created by the incredibly talented Ms. Artsekey! It depicts a hilarious, off-screen interaction within the recently released Tears of the Kingdom in which Link, the great hero of Hyrule, agrees to join a local search party to help locate the lost Princess Zelda. In doing so, he meets some rather zealous individuals who, despite their passionate dedication, don’t seem to realize the true identity of their most recent recruit.
This project will be showcased on my own, personal YouTube channel (Callie Wills), as well as shared by the original artist on her Tumblr (Artsekey), and will be set to premiere sometime within the beginning of July.
It is also worth noting that both this casting call and comic dub are being created with full permission from the artist.

Bruton is a local of Lookout Landing and the current leader of its organized search party. He and his group are tirelessly seeking out the missing Princess Zelda and her personal knight Link, but have had little luck so far. That is until an eclectic new recruit arrives with the same name and general appearance as the missing Link. It must be just a coincidence though, right?
Bruton certainly isn’t the brightest of men, but he’s got quite a bit of strength behind him, as well as endless passion and a big heart. I envision his voice as fairly low and gruff to both match his appearance and to create decent humorous contrast between himself and Link.

(Confident and confrontational) “So you wanna help find the princess, huh?”
(Purely amused) “Link? Hah! It must be rough having the same name as the legendary swordsman!”
(Embarrassed and upset) “Ugh. We’re the worst search party ever.”
Link is the titular main character of the Legend of Zelda series and the hero of Hyrule. In this comic, he has recently stumbled across a group of missing posters depicting both himself and, more importantly, the recently missing Princess Zelda. Desperate to find her, Link joins up with a local search party who, despite their zealous enthusiasm, seem to have absolutely no clue of his true identity.
Everyone’s opinion of Link’s personality is different, but I personally imagine him as a kind and dutiful man with a bit of a snarky side. With this in mind, I’m looking for a higher-pitched, androgynous, younger-sounding voice to somewhat match the character’s in-game vocalizations.

(Concerned and a bit desperate) “Do you have any information on where the princess might be?”
(Confused and astonished) “You’re looking for, Link? That’s me. I’m Link.”
*A few confused and slightly disbelieving vocalizations.* (Huh?, Wha?, etc.)
Purah is an avid researcher who works alongside the royal family to investigate any and all strange disturbances occurring in Hyrule. In this comic, she is the sponsor of a local search party in Lookout Landing dedicated to finding the missing Princess Zelda, while she continues to do her part in researching the recent Upheaval at Hyrule Castle.
Purah is very intelligent, playful, and a bit mischievous. A reference for her voice can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZeCoIbddvQ

(Annoyed and a bit distracted) “How many times do I have to tell you? I’m busy!”
(Completely and utterly shocked) “Link?! Where have you been?!”
