Iwatobi Swim Dub Anniversary Project
Project Overview
In 2017, we had a successful casting page for the English fan dub of the first film in this franchise, High☆Speed! -Free! Starting Days-, followed by the two -Timeless Medley- films, then the -Take Your Marks- film, and finally the third season, -Dive to the Future-, in 2018! This casting page is partially for a special anniversary "remix" of the original first two seasons, which we recorded in 2013 and 2014 respectively, along with recasting some very important roles where actors had to unfortunately drop out from the movies and third season! In the years since the first seasons, we made the movies and third season much higher in quality and have taken an even more serious approach to it all, so now we're going back and updating those two early seasons to be of similar quality to the rest of the project so the people who've come to enjoy our production can have the highest possible quality of it all around! Season 2 will chronologically be on the back burner while Season 1 is worked on, as well as future parts of the project, so these roles may take a little longer before their scenes will be finished in editing! Check out work-in-progress clips of the previous entries here!
Notes:
- All characters must have a North American accent to match with the returning actors. No exceptions currently unless noted as this is a continuation of an ongoing project.
- Unless stated otherwise this project will require you to match your performance to the pre-existing animated mouth movements of characters. If your performance doesn't match up, or if the take could use another try in general, retakes would be asked for in the interest of quality control.
- Your microphone has to at least be listenable. If it is too low quality it will not sound right with the rest of the cast.

Name pronunciation: He-ka-roo Oo-knee-ta
Hey! That's where you're supposed to laugh!
Practice has to come first before friendship right now, anyway.
Was it your dream to swim at the global level, too?
Only appears in the first two episodes for two short scenes. Angry, he disciplines the main characters for trespassing, often shouting.
Just because the place is abandoned, it doesn't make it okay to trespass all over!
Do you three even feel bad about what you've done?
Honestly, we're just lucky the teachers at that school agreed not to make a big deal out of all this mess.
This is her only line, which occurs without seeing her face in Episode 10 of Season 1. She addresses her elementary school class about their next project they're working on.
Each team must decide the kind of garden you will be making, the kind of flowers you will plant and draw an illustration.
Sera is an upperclassman in the Track Club. Warm and inviting, he asks one of the main characters if he wants to come back to the track club. He appears in two episodes of the second season, though his role isn't very large. His voice should be average to deep.
To me, at least... it seems like you shine much more when it comes to the track team.
If you're ever interested in coming back to the track team, you're always welcome with us.
About those things I told you the other day...
Makoto's classmate in college. He's nice and has a light voice, but not much is known about him as he only appears in three or so short scenes.
Pronunciation note: Ta-chee-ba-na
Huh? Is he ignoring you?
I see. He must be at the stage of trying to accept that he lost.
Again? Seriously, you're no fun, Tachibana,
He only has a few lines in Season 2 Episode 11. Upbeat, he has an average teen male voice.
Nice going, swim club!
Maybe he's saying the secret to winning is being indifferent to it.
Average to deep voice. Excitable, a good friend, and always trying his best to cheer everyone on. He has a decent sized role, as he appears in these films, the Take Your Marks film, and some scenes in the TV seasons, all of which are ready to record. You will also need to be able to do cheering/shouts for a few tournament scenes.
Momo said he was going to swim seriously this time, and it turns out he's super fast!
I'm not gonna let you live it down if you lose it! You have to go out there and win it for me too!
Look at Momo go! His dolphin kick's so fast! He's already pulled ahead of Iwatobi!
Aoba is a first year from Soufuukan High School. His nickname is "The Capybara of the Raging Rapids." His voice should be deeper and intimidating. He's loud, tough, and ready to fight. He first briefly appears in the fourth film where he gets in a ping pong battle over a capybara plush. He then returns for a brief appearance in an episode of the third season. All lines will be available to you at once. You can hear his original actor who unfortunately had to drop out here for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zplN4S4mJVI
That capybara plush that you were holding onto earlier today... I had my eyes on it, too!
What'd you say, punk?!
Another round, let's go!
A fiery young boy who swims free. He wants to get better so he can beat his friend who moved away. He appears in the first segment of the fourth movie, and is an important recurring role in the third season! As he's voiced by a woman using a deeper voice in the original language, the same is preferred here, though we're open to other options!
Before he left, he told me he was gonna show me a way to swim even faster.
This guy's so fast that I was never able to beat him, not even once.
I... I want to be able to race him again and win this time!
Average younger to mid-range voice. Recasting due to his actor needing to move on. He appears throughout the movies and briefly in an episode of the third season. A small but important role.
Kinda looks to me like they have letters on them.
It feels kinda good to be part of the action!
But... having the head of a rock is a little uncanny-looking.
Though she doesn't have a name in the episode, this character plays a major part in her short appearance in the Season 3 prequel OVA. Extremely cute and energetic, she's part of Yamanaka's Iwatobi promotion staff, and they're trying to return Iwatobi-chan, the mascot of their town, to its former glory, but they've lost his beak and panic.
I was pretty sure this was where the truck had passed by... but it's not here now...
More importantly, do you like Iwatobi-chan?!
It's only for the first round, so please do this for us! We promise, just one round is all we're asking!
While he's the father of a main character, he only appears in Episode 2 for a few lines.
That reminds me, I heard the news about your old swimming club.
About how they're going to be tearing it down soon.
Only appears in Episode 2 for one line. Dismissive of joining the swim club.
Why would you even want or need to swim in a pool when the ocean's right across from us anyway?
He only has these lines. His voice should be deep, but since he only appears the one time in Episode 10, and his face is not shown, it shouldn't matter as much.
Pronunciation note: Matsuoka = Mot-soo-oh-ka, Ryugazaki = Ree-you-ga-za-ki
Matsuoka. Someone named Ryugazaki's here.

Maybe we should be trying that out, too, then!
