IDW TMNT - Guided View Dub

Project Overview

Guided View Dub

The Guided View feature has made making comic dubs easier than ever, allowing us to focus more on the audio side of things.

We are doing an adaptation of the first volume of IDW’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. For now, we’re just casting the first two issues. It will include music by James A. Reilly, composer for Book 4: Air Restoration Project!

Check our work on Book 4, for an example of our previous work!

Synopsis: It's a different world for the Turtles... The group is broken as Raphael wanders the streets of NYC in search of food and shelter. His brothers and Master Splinter are on the search, but so far all they can find is trouble-in the form of mutant alley cat Old Hob and his gang of criminals!

Paid or Unpaid: Unpaid. If it is possible, payment depends on success on Patreon. But, no promises

How is this releasing? Youtube. As episodes are ready. If we’re feeling up for it, more volumes will be adapted.

Short-Term or Long Running: All characters listed here are long running main characters with exceptions. They all have large monologues. Especially the smart ones.

Mic Quality: Zero reverb. Preferably mic quality that doesn’t sound boxy.

Takes: 2 only

At this point of the casting call, the moment we find the sound that we're looking for, we'll be casting on the spot. We apologize for any inconvenience. What my casting director and I are looking for is pretty specific. Thank you for auditions, everyone. It was really cool to hear new people this time around.

We will be holding more auditions once we've released these episodes. Be on the look out. We will be releasing these episodes in September.

    UrbanLegendVO (U/S: Clov3rBlueWater)- Baxter Stockman

Main Character. Male. Early Teens.

Must be the youngest. Optional surfer accent, but preferred

Voice Reference: Zach Callison, Greg Cipes, Brandon Mychal Smith, Sean Marquette

Mikey loves pizza, comic books and everything that makes him a party dude. But what may surprise most is just how compassionate and open-hearted he is later in the story. He is able to see the good in what most would consider bad and is easy to befriend. Mikey would often be the peacemaker whenever a fight breaks out in his family. Mikey is just awesome, man. I love this little guy. Rock on, party dude.

  • [Excited] Man, I'm so stoked you're finally gonna meet Woody, bro! He's such a righteous dude—have I told you that?

  • [Rationalizing] It's just that we've been lookin' everywhere for him for like a year now. And we've got zilch to show for it. Maybe... Maybe knockin' heads with geeks like Old Hob is what we should be doin' instead—somethin' that matters, you know?

  • [Irritated] Guys, guys, guys! You all need to step off and chill out. We lost our dad, we lost our home, all our stuff, we got no food, and all you dudes wanna do is fight each other. Well, that totally sucks.

Recurring Main Character. Male. Unknown Age, but sounds 40

Growly, brooding, violent.

Voice Reference: Ron Perlman, John DiMaggio, Anthony Ruivivar

Hob was once a stray cat who led a miserable, lonely life. Until one day, he came to Stock Gen for food, and attacked Splinter and the turtles. He tries to escape with Raphael as food, but Splinter manages to save Raphael and takes out Hob’s eye. Hob manages to survive the encounter thanks to being in contact with mutagen. He teams up with Baxter Stockman and organizes a street gang in order to take his revenge against Splinter and the turtles.

  • [seething with rage] Well, I'm offended as hell, I tell ya! You got the nerve to forget me after all we shared together? You losin' that family of yours......Me losin' my damn eye!

  • You ain't nothin' but a lab experiment that got away. Hell, you ain't even worth the needle they're gonna use to suck the blood outta all you freaks—includin' that damn rat—soon as I drag your carcasses back to StockGen.

Male. Age 40s - 60s

Recurring Main Character. Deep, commanding. Must have excellent diction.

Black/AfAm preferred

Voice Reference: Keith David, Jeffrey Wright, Lance Reddick

A cunning survivor and sociopath whose only friend is himself, Baxter has been secretly involved in shady ventures for years, and since working with General Krang has also has been deeply involved in genetic and mutant research through the very company he owns, StockGen. He has exceptional intelligence, tactical abilities and is extremely manipulative.

  • [reassuring] I understand your concerns, general, but I assure you that, despite the minor delay in our report, everything is well under control.

  • [smug] Ah, yes, I keep forgetting that you've just recently joined the ranks of the bipedal and cognizant. The only type of ball you've most likely had experience with is of the rolled-yarn variety, I'm guessing.

  • [getting riled up] The mutagen, Mr. Allen! Never mind this inane talk of missing rodents and reptiles! Tell me what happened to the bloody super soldier mutagen!

Recurring Main Character. Male. Unknown Age.

Slimey, Intelligent, Intimidating, has an occasional comedic sense of timing

Voice Reference: Steve Blum, Jim Cummings, Charlie Adler, Mark Hamill, Brian Drummond

Note: The Utrom race has shown to have more varied personalities, so future Utrom will have different voices. I feel like the 90s voice would fit other Utrom characters, but if you guys can make that voice scary, go for it.

As second-in-command of the Utrom High Council, Krang served under his father Supreme Commander Quanin. The Utrom race was nearly exterminated at some point, leaving a number of them in stasis, and Krang as the only active member.  In seemingly separate wars with the Neutrinos and the Foot Clan, Krang had bankrolled Baxter Stockman to develop a Terrapin/Human Exo-Armor Synthesis that would strengthen his soldiers.

  • I am Krang, son of Quanin. And I order you to surrender, Traxus. Surrender now!

  • [brooding] Ambush? Is that what you call this, Tragg? We lose six good soldiers and our enemies lose one. Me? I’d call it a catastrophe.

  • You know damn well why I'm here, Stockman! It's been more than a year now and I'm still waiting on the super-soldier mutagen I contracted your pathetic excuse for a company to make!

Big, Intimidating, Thuggish. Optional New York accent

Voice Reference: Greg Carey

When Arnold was a wild young kid, he got his first tattoo and formed the Purple Dragons gang. He was known as Artilla the Hun (the story does not reveal this till later on). Life was good for Hun until he met a young woman, got married, and settled down. He quit his more outwardly violent gang lifestyle. When his wife got sick, Arnold fell into alcoholism and subsequently became abusive toward his son Casey Jones after the passing of his wife.

AKA Professor Zayton Honeycutt AKA The Fugitoid

Minor Recurring Character (for Volume 1). Male. 40s.

Awkward, has a stutter to signify as glitch as Chet.

Dignified, well spoken as Fugitoid and Honeycutt

Voice Reference: David Hyde Pierce, Paul Giamatti, Rob Paulsen

Zayton Honeycutt was a Neutrino scientist. He once worked for the Utroms to construct new weapons in order to defend their race before discovering their true motives - mass genocide.  One day, Krang sends his army to capture him and destroy the Resistance. In order to save his family from burning alive, he used his robot SAL to breach the flames and override the safety protocols. By doing so, he sacrificed his own body, becoming trapped within SAL permanently. But his victory was cut short as his family was slain by Krang’s sergeant.

Now in New York City on Earth, Honeycutt masquerades as a blonde male to hide from his pursuers. In order to successfully fight Krang from inside his organization, Honeycutt took a job with Baxter Stockman, Krang's earthly ally at StockGen, calling himself Chet Allen.

  • Sometimes it's, um... Best to not ask too m-many questions. Sometimes the t-truth brings dangers best avoided.

  • [as Honeycutt] I've always thought of myself as a good man. A man who knows how to do the right thing. But it's easy to do the right thing when evil is an abstract notion.
