Project Overview

Hyper! Danganronpa H20 is a Danganronpa fangame made in the OHRRPGCE engine. The prologue can be downloaded here, and the subsequent episodes can be accessed from there. Due to popular demand, I'll be gathering a group of voice actors to help bring the story to life. Voice acting will be added via patch to the game, and the voice acted versions will be added to the pages for each episode. The trials, as well as important parts of the Daily Life section will be fully voiced, with other sections being only partially voiced. It is recommended that you at least play the prologue before auditioning so that you can get a better feel for the various characters.

  • Cancellation

    To start off, I want to sincerely apologize to everyone that put work into their auditions, and I’m very thankful that people are actually taking interest in this project, and wanting to be a part of it. However, after some heavy consideration, I’ve decided that it’s in the best interest for both the future of the game and my own mental health as the game’s sole developer to cease searching for voice actors. At the time when I opened the casting call, I felt pressured to find VAs, feeling as if the project wouldn’t be taken seriously without voice acting. I was going through an extremely rough depressive period then, and I was looking for any kind of validation I could find, which was likely a big factor in the decision. Right now, if I start working with voice actors, that’s just another job to add to my workload, and right now just getting the game out is my top priority. Once I’ve finished every episode, I may look into it again, but at the moment, voice acting would only delay the game further, which is the worst case scenario. At the moment, HDRH2O is a solo project, and I’d rather keep it that way. My main goal is to finish the story, and I hope that everyone can understand why I’m making this decision. I’ll still be open to any groups who would be interested in dubbing the game on their own, but I won’t be involved. The game will go on, and I hope that everyone will enjoy the remaining episodes, even without voice acting.

Maya is the protagonist of the story, and the SHSL Barista. She is a loud, brash, energetic young girl, that tends to have trouble controlling her volume, and gets sidetracked easily. Her impulsiveness tends to make her come off as insensitive, but she really does mean well. While she may sometimes be on the slower side, she is the only one that has the gusto to lead the class through the trials and tribulations that face them, and reach out for freedom. Her voice should be energetic and enthusiastic, similar to characters like Ibuki Mioda or Miu Iruma. Pitch doesn't necessarily have to matter, as long as the energetic tone is there.

  • The name's Maya! Maya Canzanilla! And you better drill that name into your head cuz I'm gonna be on top of the world some day!

Four is the no-nonsense SHSL Biochemist with a heart of ice, and the face to match. She doesn't put up with anybody's crap, and if she thinks you're too annoying for her, she won't hold herself back from dealing out harsh criticism. While she tends to be icy, she truly does want the best for her classmates, and is willing to face the truth, no matter how hard it may be. Her voice should be deep, similar to more serious characters like Peko Pekoyama or Kyoko Kirigiri.

  • Do you really have to be so annoying? It's hard to concentrate when you're yelling like that...

  • If not wanting to deal with anyone's trivial bullshit makes me "overly serious," then I'll be overly serious any day.

Hunter is the laid back SHSL Street Dancer, with a chill, fun loving attitude. He may have trouble taking things seriously, but if push comes to shove, he can be a dependable person who's willing to help his friends succeed. He should have a fairly deep, masculine voice. His voice should be on the deeper side, while still maintaining his casual tone.

Leona is the SHSL Mangaka, and is very passionate about her craft. She tends to go on long, drawn out rants about her favorite mangas and artists, regardless of whether people want to listen or not. She loves to share her interests with the people around her, and loves going into in depth analysis of her favorite shows. Her voice should be around medium to high pitch and a bit nasally, similar to the typical nerd character on a cartoon, but not too over the top.

  • I lo~ove boys! Especially pretty ones with long, flowing hair, and soft lips! Kyah! I'm blushing at just the thought of it!

  • Ah yes... He was a brilliant mangaka that used realistic settings with cartoony characters to create an interesting universe for his story.

  • Oh yeah! That was a reference to my favorite anime! It's about a girl that uses her magical powers to save the world against the forces of evil!

Kami is the cool, collected SHSL Lawyer, who likes to approach situations from a logical, systematic point of view. She stays calm, even in a crisis, and can be depended on when you need a well thought out answer to a problem. She should have a medium to high pitched voice, and be able to sound like someone with high esteem, similar to Kirumi Toujo.

  • I suppose this is quite the interesting situation... Hopefully someone will come to rescue us soon.

Kouji Ito is the SHSL Apothecary. He's somewhat dull, and usually has trouble grasping difficult situations. However, he tries his best to help out the group in any way he can, and tries to keep a positive outlook no matter the situation. His voice should be very energetic to match his personality, similar to Souda Kazuichi or Leon Kuwata.

Victoria is the SHSL Sailor and curses like... a sailor. She values hard work and dependability due to her time on the seas, and she hates quitters. While her methods of encouragement may be a tad harsh, all she really wants is for the people around her to do their best. Victoria has a very unique speech pattern, so her voice must be a bit unique too. When she is going on a tirade, she should be able to have a voice with a deeper/harsher tone, and when she says the occasional cutesy line, she should be able to talk in a more energetic and high pitched voice.

  • Get your fuckin head in the game, string bean! No pussy footin' around when you're on the open sea! Only the unforgiving storms and the cool ocean breeze!

Oliver is the SHSL Florist. He's a very harsh-tongued individual who hates having to deal with anyone or anything he finds annoying. While he tries to come off as tough with his excessive criticism, he occasionally lets his softer side slip, and tends to get very defensive when it is pointed out. Oliver shouls have a medium to high pitched voice, with an almost whiny tone. He should also be able to deliver his biting remarks with a harsh tone.

Chet is the excitable SHSL Astronomer. He loves space, and can tell you anything about the constellations. While he tries to keep a positive, happy-go-lucky attitude, he scares easily, and has trouble dealing with tough situations. Chet should have a medium pitched voice with an energetic tone.

However, she tends to be insecure, and can be extremely vulnerable when she overthinks things. Marie is a very comforting character, so her voice should be soft and medium to high pitched, with a gentle tone.

  • I guess you could say I just like to help out where I can! If there's someone in need, I can't just leave them!

Ricardio is the SHSL SFX Artist. He has a love for the stage, as well as classic literature. He puts a dramatic flair into everything he does, to the point where it's a bit overdone. While he tries to do his best to help others, the meaning of his words can get a bit lost in translation. Ricardio should have a fairly deep voice, and his lines should be delivered with as much bravado as possible to match his dramatic personality. Think high school theater performance of Romeo and Juliet taken to the 10th degree.

Kokona is the extra exclusive SHSL DJ. She has a massive ego, and tends to judge people based on how cool or uncool they are. While she tries to keep up a stoic appearance, perhaps she's hiding some secret that might blemish her cool facade? Kokona should have a medium to low pitched voice that radiates that sassy, popular girl vibe. Think of Regina George if Regina George was a closet anime fan.

Ash Sivale is the SHSL Hypnotist, with a corrosive personality and a harsh mouth. He is quick to judge, and has absurdly high standards for the people he lets into his inner circle. He's a lone wolf, and strays away from the others, even if it's in his best interest to be a part of the group. He should have a low pitched voice, with a harsh tone to deliver his sharp remarks.

Tamako is the eccentric SHSL Supernaturalist. She claims to be able to "see beyond the veil," which allows her to communicate with spirits and demons. She will gladly go on lengthy explanations about her field of study, however, if one tries to claim that it's all a hoax, it just might invoke her wrath. Tamako should have a "creepy" voice to match her unique personality. There isn't necessarily a preference for the pitch, as long as you can get her weirdness across.

  • The spirits guided me towards this path, for I am the only one able to pierce the veil, and see into the other world!

Kerokuma is the cruel mascot of the killing game. He has a sadistic personality, and will do anything to drive the students to kill each other. He is also the one who leads the trials, and keeps the game organized. He should have the fairly typical high pitched mascot voice.
