Project Overview
Socially insecure adolescent Jason Parker is finding his way through the nerve-wracking hallways of his new school. Jason is a 15-year-old boy raised in Queens. One little quirk he 's got is that he feels he's back in the eighties because of his passion for all old school stuff. Much as if he was a guy out of time. This places him in all kinds of fascinating, amusing, and outright uncomfortable encounters with his fellow peers.

Cecilia is Jason's Mother, and personal mentor. Because of Jason's inability to truly bond with his own father, he is far more comfortable talking with his Mom. Even going as far as to talk to her as if she was his own sister or friend from school. Which often ends in her scolding him. The two have a very good relationship and share just about anything when they feel like talking. Cecilia what keeps the house going, and is almost always busy.
Cecilia: (confused) Marty, what're you doing in there?
Cecilia: Your sandwich is ready!
Cecilia: (bargaining) Yep! Bread's fresh out of the bakery from the grocery run i did. And if you hurry, i might even add in some chips and cold soda!
Jason's one wish is to have a typical sitcom father instead of his "lame construction worker father." Thus, he imagines a father with everything he ever wanted. Classic suit-and-tie wearing father. Anything from a cheesy sitcom-father voice would suit this role perfectly. As cheery and as happy-go-lucky as the 1950's can be.
Hey, hey, hey son! How was your day at school? Hope it was exceptional!
Oh, that's like music to my ears!
This going to be just a great night of dining among us! I truly do dig on this. This will be just a gas!
Olivia Price attends Jason's school. Jason both has a massive crush on her, however he tries his best to avoid her every chance he gets, in fear of looking like a fool in front of her. Olivia Price is a representation of everything that a student would want to be in Jason's eyes. Social, smart, pretty and perfect in every way. Anything from a positive sounding voice to a giddy school girl personality would work best.
Hey. Name's Olivia.
(Laughs) You okay there? You seem a little.. twitchy. (Pause) No- You know what? Save it. I've known about you for a while. I can suspect why. Your clumsy glances at me weren't exactly subtle.
(Giggles) Calm down, it's okay! I-I don't mind. As weird as it sounds, i've kinda been guilty of the same thing. All i'll say is.. meet me after school. We should hang out. Stop by a 7/11.. the skating rink.. like a date. See you. Or.. as they say in Italian.. "Addio."
Jason imagines himself as a superhero at some points. Whether it be while watching an action film, or daydreaming at school, his life gets flipped upside down by his fantasies. Rajax is an evil alien monster he imagines in his head. Rajax is a classic evil villain. Dark booming voice. Something along the same lines to Thanos from "The Avengers" movies. Though any other kind of voice would also be welcome.
(Chuckles) Your cries for help will serve you no use. Once my giant missile hits the earth's core, I will soon have completed my mission in destroying your world!
(laughs) Oh, and what will YOU do? Scream? Face it, doll. Your planet is TOAST.
(panting/becomes scared) W-Who... who is this? D-Did you contact someone??
Jason imagines little stories in his head, and he imagines himself as a totally new person, saving a damsel in distress. He often type-casts his imaginary characters as very classical and straight-forward personalities. A classic damsel with attitude would suit this role.
(is tied up, struggling noises to break free would be sufficient)
Rajax.. let me go this instant! You will not get away with this. In time, your empire shall be defeated by the Luma quadrant.
You are a fool for thinking you could ever take over earth.. You may be more powerfull than us, but we hold values that a sick being such as yourself could never grasp.
M-Marty...? I-Is that you under that mask? (takes off mask) It is you... but why? Why must you hide behind a mask?
Captain Gun is the protagonist of a happy-go-lucky children's show, He's a hilariously perfect entity! With the strongest jawline imaginable and perfect, flowing hair. Funnily enough, a lot of the television serials he's in, go along with the lessons Jason learns across life. Captain Gun requires a classical sounding hero voice. With as much charisma and charm as possible.

What's wrong?!
No problem! (turns to the camera) Ya see kids, the moral of this story is: Don't do what others tell you to do, if you don't have it in yourself to follow those orders. Olivia here, was under peer pressure to become something she wasn't. It's always important to do what's in your heart.. Rather than do what society tells you to do... (Winks)
Typically in kid shows, they often have children featured in the show. Just a small role that requires an amazing talent who can sound like a kid!

Often times, Jason will overhear some political figures discussing things that occasionally relate to what he's currently dealing with. In this case, an Interviewee is being questioned about the topic whether or not today's youth is being affected by the violence in media today. Anything casual, "as if being interviewed" tone would suit this best.
(This isn't trying to push any agenda onto the project, it's just sprinkled in to add some weight to the world building. Jason is surroundeded by all these voices, these questionable ideals around his world, and to him, it's just something in the background.
I agree. I understand what you mean. But I feel like the blame should be put on the parents. The content out there is up for the viewer's choosing.
The movies out there have ratings. A child shouldn't be allowed to watch something violent if they're unstable to begin with. Get real here.
Best thing to do for now is make sure everyone is safe. It's just a matter of time before we figure out how to do that first.
Jason would also overhear certain political officials debating topics that sometimes contribute to what he is dealing with at the moment. In this situation, an interviewee is being asked on the issue of whether or not the abuse in the media now impacts young people today. Anything casual will fit this better, "as if being interviewed," sound.

.. And I feel like.. today. In our modern times. Where children are given access to all these things. Phones.. laptops.. cameras. It really raises the question how it's affecting our youth.
Well, one might say a person who watches a lot of violent movies could be affected by this.
It's up for debate. Regardless, more and more of our youth die everyday. There's kids out there wanting to harm other children. How do you respond to that?
The campy villain is connected to Captain Gun. He is a giant dinosaur. Feel free to come up with a voice you feel would suit.a villain!

(evil laugh)Before you know it, i will turn this girl and ALL of her friends into mindless slaves of mine! Then.. I'll be able to take over the world.
Jason's father is almost an antagonist in the perspective of Jason. Billy grew up in Italy. Little is known about his childhood by Jason, however one key thing is that during his years as a child, Billy's father disappeared. To the present day, nobody knows where he went, or if he's even still alive. Because of this, it has tampered with Billy's head. Billy is a very classical, hard-working family man. However, he isn't the charming father Jason has always wanted. Billy usually tries to hide his own feelings by cracking wise-jokes or keeping an upbeat attitude. Billy often drinks beer casually. Much to Jason's disliking. Billy never gets hammered, however he often does get tipsy.
All in all, Billy means well and is a humble person. However the way he handles things are something Jason has a problem with. Anything from a normal voice to a VERY SUBTLE Brooklyn/Italian accent would suit this role. Never have the voice too polished, as this character is meant to break the typical "honey i'm home" father trope. Play around with a scruffy voice. At the very least include one take with your normal speaking voice.
(seated at couch) Hey Marty. Can you come here a sec?
(holds test in hand) You wanna explain this?
Listen, i just want to let you know that you can't keep leaving things at the last minute. God put us on this earth for a reason. Some kids out there don't even have the opportunity to go to school. Please don't make me disappointed whenever i get a new test from you. Marty you're a good kid. You're a smart kid, okay? ..Just keep your head straight.
Jeremy is an African American teenager who is a companion and a friend. Jeremy tries his best to juggle his school-life and his interest in film-making and acting. He is very bubbly and out-going, but is constantly brought down by his parents who don't often approve of his aspirations.
