HIDDEN PROTECTOR : ROADTRIP (PREQUEL)
Project Overview
Hello, everyone!
This casting call is for Hidden Protector : Roadtrip. Prequel for an indie game, this narrative game is set on a near-futuristic dystopic world, where the AI is starting to gain power. A story-driven driving game with lots of mini-games and talking about deep society problems.
We're casting for a slew of voices to be used throughout the game. For now, 7 voices for minor roles (between 4 and 13 lines) and 1 voice for the main character.
All roles are in English.
For now, we're paying between 25 and 5 dollars for the vertical slice, but in the future if the project attract investors, we will re-negotiate the price with the actors.
We will also showcase all of our voice actors in the credits and trailers of the game.
GAME OVERVIEW
Hidden Protector : Roadtrip is an indie driving game. Highly story-driven, it tells the story of a man on his fifties, going on a journey to save his daughter, with the help of the defective AI in his car. Set on a dystopic world, it talks about important societal themes, like immigration, discrimination, AI control, ecology... It's currently in a vertical slice state before being introduced to investors.
DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS
The deadline for auditions is June 6th, 2021. There are currently no plans to extend this deadline, as the full vertical slice script is ready to release to voice actors.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect to be warmly greeted by Ilias Belabed and Augustin Verzat, respectively June Studio director and writer. At this point, you'll be part of the Hidden Protector’s family, a window to discover the field of French-Moroccan indie-game development.
We communicate primarily through Discord. If you are unfamiliar with this application, you can still audition, however, we strongly, recommend participation through Discord so that you can collaborate with your fellow voice actors. We've used Discord with other projects and it has been of immense value.
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU
First and foremost, have fun -- we take pride in bringing together talents in different mediums to create something truly phenomenal, but none of it means anything if the people involved aren't passionate about their craft.
Please submit clean recordings on prosumer mics (no air conditioners in the background, no fans -- we don't mind performing noise reduction on your files, however too much clean-up reduces the quality of your voice). Don't add effects to your lines.
Feel free to cut your lines to your best/favorite takes. Three is the gold standard. We have a few voice actors that would rather give us more takes, and that's okay, too.
Please submit your recordings as one .wav file (16bits) to our company email address, which will be provided to you after casting. If a file is too large to submit via email, we prefer to use Swisstransfer.
We do occasionally ask for line re-dos, but we do this sparingly and only after great consideration - we realize your time is valuable, and we won't ask for anything we can't work around in edits.
Lastly, since we are planning on a full game development beyond this vertical slice we 'd like to cast people who will be able to stick with us for a while. We're incredibly proud of the acting troupe we've formed over the years, and when starting a new project, we frequently return to voice actors we've worked with in the past.
