Happy Birthday, Derrick Kennedy is a small visual novel about two 18-year old boys, Derrick and Robert, who plan to murder someone on Derrick's 18th birthday, which just so happens to be Halloween. You play as misanthropic, depressed teenager Derrick Kennedy, who must make choices that influence his future, whether good or bad.
This is a game jam game, as well as my first "real game" so my communication may be relatively casual and I apologize in advance for any un-professionality. The game jam, Spooktober 6th annual Visual Novel Jam, is due Oct. 1, 2024 12 AM EDT, but I would like the voice acting to be due before then. If I am interested, I will reach out to you through DMs and potentially email.
As this is for the Spooktober 2024 Game Jam, the Jam has paid prizes. If the game wins, I shall share the profits equally between members, unless it is one of the specific members categories such as best voice acting, to which that award and all the profit would go to them. However, it is a big game jam, so with the high chance I won't win, I set this as "unpaid".

The main character of the game, a depressed 18 year old who thinks murder is the only option of escapism. I imagine he has a sulky, boyish voice.

Every since I was young, I always felt different then everyone else.
Not that I think I'm special or anything. Quite the opposite in fact.
I have always felt this distance between me and other people. Like I was inferior.
Derrick's best friend and the second lead of the story, who Derrick thinks is charming. To the rest of the world however, he's just another depressed menace to society. He was the one who came up with the plan of murdering someone with Derrick

The Fangirl is Derrick and Robert's classmate, whom Robert bullies. She's sweet and kind, but can stand up for herself.

One of Derrick and Robert's bullies. He thinks their gay due to a rumor of a tape going around catching Derrick and Robert making out in the showers. Maybe something nasally, but anything nerdy sounding is good.
"NO! Not the homo cooties!"
Derrick and Robert's first victim, a happy-go-lucky stoner guy who just so happened to went to the Halloween party the two were targeting.
