Greetings.

Today I am here to announce an audio series I'm working on. To begin with, I'll tell you a little bit about the background of the story and then go into the audition materials. I highly recommend reading this fully to get a better understanding of the time frame and social environment this series takes place in. If you're a Halo fan, you may feel right at home. If not, please, I encourage you to check out the links in the description below regarding some of the canon material to help you understand the universe the story takes place in a little bit better.

The year is 2523. For the past few decades, a intergalactic insurgency has been built up and unleashed within humanity and their colonies. At the core, the United Earth Government is cracking down on colonies who either support or do not openly defy the rebellion taking place. On the other side of the coin, many colonists, of many different backgrounds and ethnicity, are tired of being ruled over, in their minds, as slaves. Many of them have begun to fight back through civil disobedience and or more military-like actions against the UEG and her people. Some of these rebels are people with legitimate criticisms who just want to be taken seriously and treated equally, while others want to take advantage of the situation to further the cause, and stop the UEG from retaining their populated colonies.

At the route of these two factions and goals are ordinary people: Farmers, merchants, businessmen. And in our case, cargo traders. Both sides require supply lines to fuel their causes, and or their existing control. Many of these cargo traders find themselves in the middle, taking up jobs for either side, although they likely won't admit it to the government for obvious reasons.

This is where we meet our crew: Captain Faux, pilot and captain of the 'Celestial Beauty', a cargo ship for shipments to be taken from buyer to seller, and or vice versa. Aboard this vessel, Anthony Kelp, Captain Faux's 'right hand man' and close friend helps keep things running. There is also Leonard Copplin, a would-be rebel who turned to a more profitable, and healthy, lifestyle, who is the maintenance and 'grunt' of the crew, taking care of moving and accounting for the shipments aboard the ship. Lastly, we have the newcomer, and semi-apprentice to Captain Faux, Thomas Darren, a young man who dreams of a better life and is training under the captain to learn to pilot his own ship one day.

Together, this crew will face many challenges, from mundane Mondays, to more serious conflicts that engulf the galaxy at large. This will be an ongoing project, and all actors who audition, but don't receive a part, are welcome to keep up with the updates page here, as there will likely be more to come, with more roles to fill. That being said, if you get the part, you HAVE to commit to it. Please don't take a role for your resume and then move down the line. This is a passion project for me, and if you're involved, it should be for you as well. We can work around schedules, but please just follow the following three 'rules of engagement':

1. Please have a clear sounding microphone. I get it, they can be expensive. And I have Audition and will do what I can, but try to limit the background noise as much as possible. ALSO, try to speak as clearly as possible. Don't pop too hard, don't talk to soft, and no deep throating the microphone. It probably isn't good for it anyways.

2. Try to be active. I truly encourage ANY of you, regardless of your role or lack there of, to email me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. If you are going to be out of town and need a bit longer to record your lines, LET ME KNOW. If you are getting a new microphone because I made you feel bad and it will take a week to get and mess with the settings, LET ME KNOW. If you're dog just died and you need to take a few days, first off I'm sorry to hear that, but let me know. If I don't hear from you after a few days, I'm going to assume that you're gone and need to be recasted. I don't want to do that, but if I have to, I will. That being said, my email is here: [redacted]

3. Just try to have fun with the characters. I know I may ask a lot from you. I know that some of these characters may seem pretty one-off or bland, but they're scripted the way that they are for a reason. That being said, if you mess up in a demo and want to leave it in for a laugh, by all means, humor us. Redo the line, of course. But don't be afraid to be yourself. This is all out of passion, of course. And if you have any questions or ideas for the character, you guessed it, tell your hamster.... But then LET ME KNOW. :)

Latest Updates

  • Update on Casting and Future Installments:

Greetings everyone. Your friendly neighborhood casting director here again. I just wanted to let you all know that there are two days remaining until final choices are made for these specific roles, which will be featured in the first episode of the series. However, there will be plenty of roles to come, so please feel free to follow either my subreddit, or even just my profile on here, to see any updates that will come out of the series as far as any release dates, future roles, or even just behind the scenes updates. Even though this casting call is coming to a close, your work is not yet finished. I encourgage you all to continue auditioning if you haven't yet. And if you have, give feedback to other auditions based on advice given to you.

And should you be cast to a role, PLEASE make sure you are available for the long term. Four of these roles, Captian Faux, Thomas Darren, Anthony Kelp, and Leonard Copplin, are LONG TERM CHARACTERS and will be in seemly every installment of the series for the foreseeable future. While two other roles, Cpt. Jones and Sgt. Ashton, are minor characters for the time being, but you will be casted as those characters for the series unless you cannot continue to do so, in which you will be recast going forward. This is very important to take note, not only for this casting call, but future ones with more characters and diologue. If you want to take part in this project, you have to be available and on time with your lines. I can make acceptions for problems you may have, but PLEASE, let me know as soon as possible. As an audio project, without audio required to progress the project, it's dead in the water until your lines are in. Please ask me what characters are perminant or which ones are 'one off' characters going forward so I can let you know, should you only be available for a limited time. And if you are cast, please do not feel left out, as you can pursue other roles for the series, as long as you're not just using the same voice for a current character, with it being audio only, that can be difficult to explain.

Also, should you be casted, you will be alongside your other cast members, either through Discord, email, or Skype. Although I would prefer Discord, as it would be easier to see new messages and conversations there, you will all still have my email for whatever needs you may have. Please take note, if you haven't been casted on this site yet by another project director, when you are cast for a role, it will show up in your notifications box. I will then send the script, in full, to you for you to review your lines, and the context of them. If you have any questions at that point, you can either ask me on the group comminication service, OR through this site directly. YOU WILL TURN IN ALL OF YOUR READS THROUGH THE SITE ITSELF, AND WHEN FINISHED, SELECT THE BUTTON 'FINISHED', WHICH WILL NOTIFY ME THAT YOU HAVE FINISHED YOUR LINES. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE IF YOUR READ IS FINAL, FEEL FREE TO PRESS THIS BUTTON ANYWAYS. IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE AND YOU CAN TURN IN YOUR LINES ALL AT ONCE OR INDIVIDUALLY AND SELECT IT, WHICHEVER WORKS BEST FOR YOU. If you get a message from me saying that I need a line revoiced, you can then unselect the finished button, turn in your new read, and then do so again, telling me you are done re-voicing that line. All of the auditions and submitions are done through the site itself, keeping them all in one place and easy for me to sort through. Keep in mind, however, the Discord/Skype group will be closed to casted members only, and will be open only to you. So, feel free to contact any of the other members there for advice or just to talk about things going on. It's for casted members only, so don't feel like you can't talk openly about the project to me other the other members there. But PLEASE, keep the project and it's information within the group chat only. If you wish to talk about the project and it's details elsehwere, like a Reddit AMA, please ask me first. Just as any project, I will let you know what you can and can't say about it during the time of production, to make sure major spoilers don't leak out three episodes early.

I hope you guys are exicted about this project and it's potential as much as I am. Thank you all for being apart of it thus far. May we all end up in the project in our own way by the series end!

  • Beware, Here There Be Sub-Reddits

We have a subreddit now! Check it out!

  • Please Read Me! :)

Hello everyone! As I said previously, some really good work is coming into this project, and I'm happy to see that being the case. If you haven't auditioned yet, or wish to audition again, please do not feel rushed. The ending date for auditions on this project in particular is Febuary 10th, but there will be more roles in the future with it being expanded to a series, so do not fret if you do not recieve a role. There will be more to come.

One thing I am currently working on is making a sort of charactr analysis video for each character and posting it to my channel, which you can find here:

This will take me some time to do, but the point is that you will hear me direct each character with my own voice and help answer some common questions you have had. So, feel free to check with that channel throughout the day for those updates. And in the meantime, maybe watch my videos?.. Mayybbee?.. Alright, shameful promotion done. :)

Thomas Darren is a young man whom was taken in by a cargo pilot whom runs shipments for anyone who pays. He is in his late teens or so, and has a bit of a guilt factor to his tone of voice. He is currently learning in a sort of internship under Captain Faux on how to be a pilot, and sees him as a sort of father figure. He can be relatively soft spoken to others, unless it is Leonard Copplin, whom he has a sort of sibling tone towards.

  • "Afternoon sir. Actually, I was thinking I will just obsere some more today, if it's all the same to you....I apologize for the inconvenience, sir. I'm just feeling a bit under the radar today."

  • (Alright, quick update on this line. I had a question about what this line is supposed to mean, so heres a explanation so it is easier to understand. So, in this scene, the ship is entering the planet's atmosphere. When the clouds dissapear and the crew is looking down to the planet's surface, one of the characters notes, "There she is. Beautiful, ain't she, kid?". To the rest of the crew, they've seen the planet plenty of times, and it's lost the effect on them. But for Thomas, someone who's never traveled around before, let alone to the Outer Colonies, he is awestruck by the beauty of the landscape. Imagine Rey from The Force Awakens when seeing 'so much green'. It's in a simular veign to that scene. Thomas, while being awestruck by the beauty he is seeing on the planet's surface, is slightly shocked that the other character doesn't sound more excited. If you have any questions about this line in particular, please feel free to ask me further.)

"Well, yeah. I've never seen this side of the colonies before."

  • (shocked)

    "...You gave weapons to terrorists?..."

(panicing; Think you just spilled beer on your date during the first date)

    "Oh my- I'm so sorry-"

Leonard Copplin is the 'hired gun' of the crew. He is the one who does all of the heavy lifting and general matinance around the ship. He can be a bit of a rude, cocky, jock type character, almost a Han solo type. Any accent will do, but I'm thinking European. If you would like, feel free to do multiple auditions with different voices and send them all individually. We'll just go with the best one.

  • "Oh look, the prodigy does sleep. Who would've guessed? We all just kinda figured you were a robot or something." (sarcastic, rude tone)

  • "Hey, you just watch yourself there, boy. She may not look like much (refering to the ship) but she's gotten us boys through the ends of the galaxy and back. And that was without givin' her motivational support. Besides, do you really think those people out there expect cargo traders to be handsome, well groomed, dashing little men like yourself? We''re the ones putting our arse's on the line so someone like you can have your damned cream in the morning. Not that you ever needed it."

  • "Not me. I'm just the hired lifting." (Responding to another character talking about doing cargo deliveries. I'm thinking of a K2-SO from Rogue One)

*Note: I have almost all of this character's diologue for this project here for the audition. That does not mean the character will never be heard from again, but I think putting all of the diologue here with the context will make it easier for you to understand who the character is*

This character is a part of the rebellion forces waring with the United Earth Government. He is a pilot for one of the factions that consists of the insurgency. This character is generally companionate to those around him, especially to his old friend whom he records messages to. He is roughly around 25 years old or so, but it can be a bit younger or older. The main point of this character is that he is talking as if he is having a conversation with an old friend. Natural pauses and speaking patterns are needed for this role more than any other.

  • "But due to recent events, uh, well, let's just say things aren't looking good. Of course, that's not what I tell my crew, but, I think they all know it at heart. *slight sigh and muble* Everything's gone to shit. Donny and his boys decided to disregard the Council's orders. They took a one way flight to take the fight to Noctus. Crazy ass fools if you ask me. That place is already a shitstorm.
(mockingly) 'But they need reinforcements' he said.

Hmph. Crazy old fool. You're a cargo pilot, not a soldier. Not that any of us really are. Well, most of us anyways. Uh, Kyle, he's doing fine, I guess. Going through a lot, you know, given the circumstances. But, I think he's going to be alright. Admittedly, I haven't talked to him in a few days, but it's not like we really have that luxury either. I think he will get back on his feet though. He always does. Even if it is a lot to deal with."

  • "Uh sorry about that, Thomas. I don't really have the time to edit out all of the fluff, so I hope you'll forgive me. At least this time you can't complain to me that I edit out all of my rants. Still don't know why you like listening to that crap.

Anyways, I got to get ready for the sweepers. Better make my bed and that. Hopefully you'll hear this in a reasonable amount of time. And, if not, then stop slacking! But, uh, you know. Take care of yourself. Hanging out in the Eridanus System like that, I hear it's not a great place to be right now. Anywho, I'll hear from you soon. Bye."

Captain Faux

Role assigned to: zero-213

Captain Faux is a sort of mentor to Thomas Darren. He has seen his fair share of trouble, but he usually just tries to do the mundane cargo deliveries. But he plays both sides, doing shipments for both the rebellion and the government forces, even if they don't know it. He is almost a father figure to Thomas Darren, in a way, that he is trying to be understanding and careful around him. Captain Faux can have a comical side to him, but generally he is compationate towards Thomas Darren and tries to help him become a better pilot, and stay out of trouble.

  • (Regarding Thomas Darren claiming he is not feeling well; I think of this line in the sense that a kid is trying to play off why he wasn't home the night before and get's caught) "No. He was up all night in the cargo hold with his Waypoint terminal. Talking to your old friend Sgt. Ashton, correct?"

(get's told Thomas didn't talk to him)

"He's probally off doing something important then. Best we not interfere with that. Come on over and take a seat at the helm, Mr. Darren. We're about to enter the outer atmosphere. And we all know how bumpy that can be. Alright. Do you remember the procedure?"

  • (Both annoyed)

"And that's exactly what you'll tell anyone who asks."

"We'll deal with that when that time comes."

  • (Dad-like talk to son-like figure)

"Ah, well that sounds like your second guessing. Never do that. Especially to me. I've been doing this for the past decade. I've seen a lot, done a lot, probaly could've died a lot. But one thing I never do is second guess myself. We're good at figuring out when something's wrong. Maybe not so good at deciphering right from wrong. But our bodies make sure we don't get ourselves killed nonetheless. Always go with your gut. Especially during decents. You don't want to be throwing up your organs because you're decenting too hard. I can imagine that would be pretty painful."

This character is your typical inspector. I kind of imagine him as a Hans Landa type character, although admittedly not a 'bad guy'. He is just an inspector carefully checking everything from the ship and it's cargo to the crew, questioning everything to ensure everything checks out. He can come off as a friendly enough guy, but has to be curious when asking the questions. He is there to make sure no one is lying to his face. He isn't aggressive, but he isn't passive either. Feel free to take a little bit of liberty with it to find a nice balance.

  • "No, that won't be necesarry. Simply a bit peculiar is all. I mean, aren't they a robotics company?"

  • "Thank you for the information, Captain. As well as to the invitation. I ran through your records. Your last shipment was to The Esser Company in Ambros, Paris IV, correct? Care to tell me what you were delivering?"

  • "I see you have some scrapes along the floor here. They actually almost appear to be reconstructed from small punctures in the metal."

Anthony Kelp is the sort of 'Second Mate' of the crew. He is just as old as Captain Faux, around 30-35. He is a pretty level headed person, although a bit bland in his talking. I'm thinking of a Han Solo type character during the down time where it's diologue, like when Han is talking in the scene with Luke training and saying he doesn't believe in the force. This character is simular in the sense that he has seen a lot and the joy of life has sort of been taken out of him and he just lives life day by day.

  • "I meant that officially we've never been sent into a combat mission for the very purpose. Not that we haven't had our fair share of hostile encounters."

  • (Responding to Thomas saying he's never seen the Outer Colonies before)

"Trust me. On this side of the line, you won't find much more than this. Most of it is desolated and decaying. The 'outers are just there to serve the purpose of resources, nothing more. But, times like this make it worth it. Usually, at least."

  • (Responding to Captain Faux not supporting the rebellion; This can be a bit more heated, although still keep the tone of the character, just more frustrated)

"So you're against the rebellion now? What are you, a slot machine? You can't just keep negating the reality of the situation, Ben. One of these days you're going to have to pick a side and stick to it. Eventually both sides are going to-"

This character is a pretty minor role. These are all the lines he has for this script currently. The main thing is that he is coming in during Sgt. Greggory Ashton's recording, talking to himself essentially, to let him know that he should prepare for a ship inspection. Pretty much full liberty with this one.

  • "Sorry to interupt your... Conversation, sir. I just wanted to inform you that we are entering the planet's atmophere now. We should arrive at the loading dock in a few minutes for our appointment. As per usual, the ship will have a search conducted, in case you have any misplaced items (refering to contraband)."

  • "Affirmitive vessle 2-A-197. You are cleared to land at docking station 4-A on the North-Eastern platform. Please have your credentials ready and in hand for your inspection. Welcome to Luxor, Captain Faux. Over."
