Glenn and Citrus explores the namesake characters as they attempt to make their mark on the world, in a world covered top to bottom with the marks of others. Glenn sees this as a top priority for him, as he feels time is running out for him to do so. Citrus on the other hand prefers to take life one step at a time, frequently "stopping to smell the roses" rather than jumping the gun any chance he gets.
The show essentially follows Glenn and Citrus doing a bunch of whacky stuff. The show is tailored to fans of smiling friends and other similar Adult Swim comedies. There is an emphasis on Glenn's positivity. I don't want to make another "stereotypical adult animated sitcom" where the punchlines lean into nihilism, no no no. I want this show's writing to stand out for its subtle life lessons that the viewer witnesses Glenn navigate.
As a young man with ADHD, I find myself switching between projects fairly quickly. However, I have been developing this project for a couple months now and I'm very happy with where it's going. If you'd like to take a look at some of my previous work, my Instagram and TikTok accounts are under the handle goobie_shoobie. I implore you to take a look, as the overall vibe of the show will be quite similar. To return to my point, I am not 100% sure this show will perform or end up the way I want, and I can't promise that this project will run for very long. But I assure you, if given the right team, my motivation will be more than high enough to continue working with you, even if not on this project.
This casting call is intended to be for getting an initial team together to work out a pilot. I know voice acting is what most people come here for but I’m afraid most of the voices have been taken by those in my inner circle and myself. Although if you are put on as a writer or artist you will likely be asked to do additional voices, if that helps.
I plan on putting a team together on discord. If you are selected for a position you will be given a link. This is kind of a deal breaker as I would like solid communication throughout the team, as well as having a place to just chat and develop connections. I will also be posting finished episodes to Newgrounds, so please consider making an account over there so that I can properly give you credit. In terms of the show itself, it is still being conceptualized. I am currently in the process of creating a somewhat proper pitch bible which will be shared upon being accepted.

Voice actor(s)
Simply upload a .wav or a .mp3, as well as a brief blurb on why you'd like to help out and what else you have to offer. If you have a portfolio/social media page please also provide that. Feel free to riff and improvise, and include an introduction if you'd like.
Writers/Character Designers
Submit a portfolio or a social media page where you have a handful of your work posted. This is a requirement, and without it you will not be considered. You must also submit the same blurb as the voice actors.
ASL consultant
If you are able, submit a video containing the three audition lines. If unable to do so, provide some kind of link to a social page or an alternative communication platform where you can submit a video.

I had a really hard time sifting through all of the submissions because everyone is really great! If your submission was dismissed, it was either due to mic quality issues or because it didn't quite match my vision. Regardless, please keep up the good work!
As for the voice roles, I've gone ahead and shortlisted those I feel match the vibe I'm looking for and have closed submissions.
Right now my top priority is background artists! and also an ASL consultant but I feel like the odds of that role being auditioned for are increasingly low... If you are even partially familiar with ASL, that would be a huge step up from my complete ignorance and I would be thrilled to have you!!
Voice Actor
A smaller gentleman with a Northern English dialect, however this is still being workshopped so feel free to mess around with any ideas you have. Despite his stature he speaks with a relatively mid-ranged voice. He owns the apartments where a good majority of the show takes place. He doesn't hate his job as a landlord, but his tenants often make it difficult and it takes an apparent toll on his energy.
If you are picked up for this character, you can expect to voice additional background characters when needed.
(Startled) Oh! uhh- ahem... uh, I'm just doing some last-minute checks on the apartment. I'll be out of your hair in a moment,
Hold on a moment- who the bloody hell is this? You know we don't allow pets in the flats, they lower the property values.
(calmer tone, rising into a full-blown crashout) Glenn, if your little friend here pulls another stunt like that you're getting KICKED FROM YOUR FLAT! DO YOU YOU UNDERSTAND ME?? (riff off of this: Citrus was caught vaping for the second time and the landlord is just screaming about it.)

I just need a little bit of support with writing episode plots and character development, nothing too crazy. This person should have experience with writing skits and other comedic media, as well as having the confidence to share ideas and add flair where they see fit. this person should also be open to occasional discord calls. I like to discuss stuff over a doodle sesh but this is not a requirement.

Looking for someone with strong character design skills. The character designs thus far are pretty unserious and free, kinda like Smiling Friends. Citrus speaks ASL. Thus far, I've been looking up words in an ASL dictionary and stitching them together. I'm hoping for someone that has a baseline skill in ASL that is willing to take full videos of themselves signing sentences to later be translated into animation. This is a lower priority as I understand the niche nature of such a skill, but it would be really cool if someone were willing to help out with it!

Looking for someone capable of making believable backgrounds. Not looking for professional quality or anything but as long as you’re confident and consistent you’d be perfect. Background will mostly be made in Adobe Animate, but if you don’t have access to such a software (i don’t blame you) you can submit a finished product in another software and I’d be willing to translate it into Adobe software.

Dale is a demon but he’s pretty chill about it. He speaks with a very casual tone but in a deep, strained, raspy voice. His cadence is very confident.
