Glass Wings: MLP Audio Drama Series

Project Overview

Glass Wings is about the children of Shining Armor and Princess Cadence, Flurry Heart and Crystal Essence as they learn what it means to be a princess. Crystal is born frail and thus has no chance of becoming the crowned princess at any point putting all pressure and responsibility on Flurry. Little respect is given to the young princess as she’s seen as too weak to be a proper leader let alone princess. Despite this, Crystal works hard and does her best to be recognized as the princess she is. Flurry struggles with this new weight and responsibility especially at such a young age. She works hard in her studies, practices, and so on in her journey to become the crown princess the Empire deserves, but at what cost? She feels lost as she goes trying to be everything everyone wants her to be while also feeling inadequate in places regardless of what others say. Flurry wants to be a proper princess, one everyone can be proud of, but mostly, one she can be proud of. Both will take this journey to find what is a princess.

  • Casting Call Results

    Hello once again! The cast has officially been chosen! Thank you to all who submitted auditions and those who did re-auditions!   • Casting Call End and Potential Redos Needed

    Hello once again! Time's up for this casting call meaning I must make some very hard choices. Thank you all so much for your lovely auditions! I can already tell this is going to be tough, but I'm not ready to choose just yet. Over the course of the next day or so, I will be asking for some retakes from some of the people who auditioned. Don't worry if you did or didn't get a comment! Not everyone who I'm considering will get one, but those who do are ones I am. Even so, it's not a guarantee you'll get picked so please keep that in mind. If I do, I will need you to redo your audition in order to help me determine if you're who I'm looking for. If you could get them in within the next few days, that would be wonderful! A time frame would be great so I can plan. If I don't receive a response in the next week, I will move forward and take the initial audition as your official one. Same goes for promised redos, I'm giving a week at most from initial response. After I receive all the redos promised, I will make my decisions. Thank you once again and I look forward to picking the cast!

  • Short Extension and General Update

    Hello to all who've auditioned so far! First of all, thank you so much for auditioning, it's so wonderful to see so many people interested and I know I'm going to have a tough time picking out the cast. I know today's the deadline, but I wanted to let you know it's going to be extended into the weekend. There are some people who approached me for a little extra time and seeing as it was a fair amount, I thought I'd also extend the casting call here and on YouTube to give everyone that same advantage. All the prep for the project has been taken care of, but I figured I could use some of that time as well to be fully prepared to start this as soon as possible. I hope it's not an inconvenience to anyone or a groan inducing wait. I'm pretty sure I would have needed that time anyways so consider this an extra treat for those who saw this last minute and want to get in their auditions. By next week, I should have the results up and ready and don't worry if you didn't get picked. I plan to make a few more casting calls in the future with more options for voice roles so if you don't make it in this time, there will be more chances in the future. That's all for now! Dutiful soldier and loving father. He was once the captain of Equestria’s royal guard, now he serves as prince of the Crystal Empire and father to two beautiful mares. He’s a loving husband, if a bit of a dork at times, but strong, courageous, and fights for the weak.

A former unicorn who earned her title as Princess of Friendship along  with her wings as well as being an element bearer (Magic). She’s as smart as she looks, an avid book reader and lover, and loving aunt to her two nieces. Many look up to her as both leader and friend as she serves both roles well helping anyone wherever she can.

    I remember when I was Flurry’s age waiting for my baby brother to come, it was terrifying. Not knowing what was going on or why my dad was nearly having a heart attack, but my aunt told me how the doctor’s were good ponies who are doing their best. So try to think about it that way.

With the birth of a royal in the Crystal Empire, it is tradition they be assigned a caretaker to meet the child’s needs as they grow. For Crystal, Velvetine Honey was chosen. Velvetine was initially raised on a farm that collects a special sparkling sap turned into sweet treats. Eventually, she moved out and into the inner city to pursue professions in care taking and organizational tasks such as secretary work. Stern, firm, and a stickler for the rules. She’s not afraid to give a needed lecture on the spot. Carrying a sense of importance and regal in every step, she’s not the kind you approach on a whim. Still, she has a soft spot deep down as she cares deeply for Crystal as if she were her own.

Voice Description: Snotty and self important, firm / stern with a sense of being unapproachable. Sometimes, you can hear this drop on the odd occasion, usually around Crystal. Her other voice is softer, more caring and regal. It’s more on the medium side, but try something if you think it’d work. You must be able to do both voices and do them well, it’s important.

With the birth of a royal in the Crystal Empire, it is tradition they be assigned a caretaker to meet the child’s needs as they grow. For Flurry, Misty Bell was chosen. As her name implies, she has an interest in bells and always responds to their call. Her parents worked as bell makers and she followed in their hoofsteps until her family’s mother died in childbirth and she quickly took on the role of mother being the oldest. She never lost that passion as she made bells for ceremonies, dresswear, and special occasions being noticed by the royal family when doing a quick job babysitting for a friend. She’s gentle, kind, and caring, having a big sisterly feel in everything she does. Though not the best at giving punishment with how soft she is, she does know how to give a good telling off when it comes to it.


Voice Description: Sweet and gentle, has a big sister feel to it. It’s more on the higher side, though not super high, maybe highish medium. We’re up for hearing different interpretations.
