Glass Wings: MLP Audio Drama Series
FalonEcho for Misty Bell
With the birth of a royal in the Crystal Empire, it is tradition they be assigned a caretaker to meet the child’s needs as they grow. For Flurry, Misty Bell was chosen. As her name implies, she has an interest in bells and always responds to their call. Her parents worked as bell makers and she followed in their hoofsteps until her family’s mother died in childbirth and she quickly took on the role of mother being the oldest. She never lost that passion as she made bells for ceremonies, dresswear, and special occasions being noticed by the royal family when doing a quick job babysitting for a friend. She’s gentle, kind, and caring, having a big sisterly feel in everything she does. Though not the best at giving punishment with how soft she is, she does know how to give a good telling off when it comes to it.
Voice Description: Sweet and gentle, has a big sister feel to it. It’s more on the higher side, though not super high, maybe highish medium. We’re up for hearing different interpretations.
Voice Sample: N/A

[Explaining]
Not all alicorns are born. Some, like your mother, earn their horn, wings, possibly both.
[Big sister confidence]
Because I’m the greatest caretaker in the world and as such, I know all sorts of things.
[Calmly firm]
No buts, young lady. You can play with Crystal once you’re done.
Hello, FalonEcho. I really enjoyed your voice as it fits the character of Misty well, but if I may ask, could I hear a redo of your audition? The way you read the lines felt too careful in how you annunciated, emoted, and being a tad slow, made the performance feel unnatural. If at all possible, could you give it another try? I've recorded my own take of the lines with three takes each to help you. You don't have to do it three times per for the audition if you don't feel like it, this was done to give you more variety and ideas of how it could be done. And you don't have to do it exactly as I did either. I just wanted to give you a better idea of what I'm looking for. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vtTFgbOJ4wNLFN31aSigFlhW6vCL4bya/view?usp=sharing
Thanks so much for getting back to me! I can definitely do that no problem! I'll listen through he file and when I get home tonight I'll record a new audition for you. I appreciate the feedback and the direction! It actually helps a lot. I started out doing VA by narrating audiobooks for the last 3 years and have started transitioning over to VA like this. So I've been working really hard over the last couple months to avoid some of the habits I've learned from narration, like annunciating overly and reading the lines slower. I definitely think that's something I've improved on though since I did this audition last month though so hopefully with the direction you gave I'll be able to deliver a more fitting audition for you :) Thanks again!
Wonderful! I look forward to it! Ah, that would explain a lot. You certainly have a lovely voice for it! Well, if I do decide to pick you, I'd be happy to work with you personally through call so I can give coaching / directing as you record. That is, if it'd help and you feel comfortable enough. If not, I can just record my takes of the lines for you just like this as long as you need it.
Thank you so much, I appreciate that! I definitely am open to any type of coaching you feel for sure. I have been working very hard on adjusting to the different type of media over the last bit because I did receive a few different critiques from people regarding those exact same things last month and I realized that was why lol. So hopefully you will be able to notice a difference in the other audition I just uploaded. I listened through the one you sent me and tried adjusting accordingly so hopefully that will be more along the lines you are looking for :) I really appreciate that if you do choose me you are willing to take that time if needed as well, I really respect that <3
