Project Overview

Hello everybody! This is a casting call for a Final Fantasy 7 artist collaboration project. I'm looking for voice actors for a fandub of the main storyline. The ability to read for multiple characters is a plus, but not required. I'm looking for talent that can put acting ahead of voice, while still capturing a piece of what makes the characters special. I'm not concerned with impressions of canonical voice actors as much as a confident performance.

This is a passion project because I have no initial audience. While I would imagine the algorithm will be kind come the next installment of the remake, I have no expectation for this to be a profitable venture. However, I will offer $5 via PayPal as a thank you for your time and talent. Also, if the video does happen to get monetized, I would be thrilled to share profits based on an industry standard.

I will begin the project by first focusing on the Midgar section of the story, so I will be only casting characters that appear there. If you are eager to throw down your Vincent, Cid or Bugenhagen, stay posted as I will return later for additional characters as the series progresses. 

There are no requirements on equipment except for a clear microphone, discord, and audacity. 

Auditions will be held until Oct 31st, results by November 2nd. Please include available times to record in your audition

I loved the Mark Hamil depiction in the remake, but I don't necessarily need a Joker impression. If you want to go that way, that's fine, but you could also really lean into his smarmy/ overweight / gross aspects as well

Most of the animation for this project will come from in-game assets. However we are also featuring fan made animations of boss fights and key moments of the story. 

We have a great animation director who would be willing to give direction to those interested n learning, as well as clean up any inconsistencies in the art. All you need are basic drawing skills and an interest in animating!

The biggest advice I can give to this role is to not lay the comedic voicing on too thick. His character is chubby and can be a little dopey at times. But try to harness that energy into something more endearing than insulting.

Biggs is a very down to earth character, preferably a little deep, but not enough to be unrealistic. Imagine being aware that you are about to risk the lives thousands of people, but determined to do what is needed for the planet.

Reeve / Cait Sith will be played by the same person, but Cait Sith's lines will be filtered through a light filter to portray distanced communication through a microphone. Reeve is more professional sounding in person, while Cait Sith is generally more upbeat and animated. The trick will be finding a balance between the two so they can both read as the same person
