Project Overview
INTRODUCTION
Hello, everyone! This casting call is for Season 2 of "FanScape - A FanFiction Podcast" We are currently looking to reboot our podcast for it's second season and reinvent it as a Audio Drama. This casting is for the first series of the season which is 15 episodes long. The Fan Fiction we will be reading is based in the Neon Genesis Evangelion fandom. While knowledge of the the anime is not required, it is definitely a plus.
We're casting for a slew of voices to be used throughout the this 15 episode series. Folks cast for main roles may be asked to provide lines for additional, smaller roles not featured on CCC. If you're not cast for a main role, and your voice matches the tone of the show, we may ask you to provide lines for supporting roles in the production.
All roles are in the English language. However one role does have a few German words sprinkled in. We will provide a file showing the proper pronunciation in that case.
For main roles (+ additional lines for minor roles and retakes), we're paying between $5 per 200 lines for the project. All payments are made through PayPal, Zelle, or venmo.
We will have a credits section in the episodes show notes on both our website and the podcast description. We will also be saying the actors names audibly at the end of each episode they are in.
SERIES OVERVIEW
The series we will be reading is a 15 chapter Fan Fiction named ' A Mother's Love - An Evangelion Alternate' by the author HuervosRanchero and it is posted on ArchiveOfOurOwn.org. For those familiar with the Neon Genesis Evangelion Anime, this series asks the question ' What if Shinji's father had died instead of his mother'.
DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS
The deadline for auditions is February 10th This deadline will be extended if roles are not filled. Roles will be provided after completing the audition, if all roles are filled befoe the February 10th deadline then Auditions will end early. Scripts will be provided after a role has been assigned and we hope to have all lines recorded by Feb 18th This is a SOFT deadline. If you need extra time for recording, let us know. Extensions will be made on a case by case basis.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Auditions are to be recorded and sent to us, upon role assignment we will send you a rar file that contains your character dialogue, a copy of the full series script with all character lines highlighted, and audio/video files that has proper pronunciation for any names or words that may be difficult.
We communicate primarily through Discord, if you do not have a discord we can figure out other ways to communicate about the project.
Recordings will be alone, not via group call.
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU
- First and foremost, have fun -- we take pride in bringing together talents in different mediums to create something truly phenomenal, but none of it means anything if the people involved aren't passionate about their craft.
- Please submit clean recordings on prosumer mics (no air conditioners in the background, no fans -- we don't mind performing noise reduction on your files, however too much clean-up reduces the quality of your voice). And speaking of clean-up -- We hired an editor to handle post production. Don't add effects to your lines -- leave that to our audio geniuses :)
- Feel free to cut your lines to your best/favorite takes. Three is the gold standard. We have a few voice actors that would rather give us more takes, and that's okay, too. However please at least remove the takes you don't want to be featured on the podcast.
- Please submit your recordings as one .wav file to our company email address, which will be provided to you after casting. If a file is too large to submit via email, we can work out a solution.
- We do occasionally ask for line re-dos, but we do this sparingly and only after great consideration - we realize your time is valuable, and we won't ask for anything we can't work around in edits.
- Once recording, re-takes, editing is completed , we will provide a link to the final product for you, we will also send a survey to figure out what we did right, and what can be worked on for future production and casting efforts.
- Lastly, We are planning multiple series per season so we would love to stay in contact and offer auditions first to actors who have previously worked with us. if you are not interested in that, let us know.

Yui is the Director of NERV, and mother to Shinji Ikari. In this alternate story she is alive and lives to 38, instead of her dying Shinji’s father Gendo Ikari has given his life. She is a loving mother and worries about her son while he is trying to protect everyone, ultimately causing her to create a clone (Rei) to take his place. Yui is often stressed by Seele the organization overseeing NERV as they do not trust her command and want to take control of Nerv.

Misato Katsuragi, is a caring person but also doesn’t really care for herself ( in the Anime all she has in her fridge is alcohol and microwave meals ). A long time ago she was in a relationship with Ryoji Kaji, and during this story, their relationship starts to rekindle in a way.
"Shinji, soften it up with the rounds from the gun, we don't think it will penetrate the core but it should weaken it enough for you to use the vibro blade and destroy it. "

"Not dead yet, you fucking harpy" -said after shooting Naoko, and also while bleeding out after being shot herself

Age: 40’s
Naoko is a double agent working for Seele ( The organization overseeing and wanting to take over NERV) , she is bitter and angry all the time and is always schemeing trying to pick away and get Yui removed from her rank. She also is flirty towards Kaji, however her attempts are shut down by him.
"I know that bitch is up to something ....why else is she hovering over Ritsuko all the time?? I can't put my finger on it but I know it's something that will work in our favor, Fuyutsuki"
"Oh shut up....maybe I need to throw you back in the pool with the rest of the minnows....sometimes I wonder if you remember who you work for. ..."
Age 14ish
Relationship (A relationship forms with Shinji Ikari)
GIselle is a original character in this fan fiction. She is a German Eva pilot trainee, she isn’t the best of the options but she is kind unlike Auska. She has a crush and a relationship forms with shinji as they work together and she is the pilot of Eva Unit 02.

Dr.. Hellenburg is a origional character for this fan fiction, she is the head psychologist for the german Nerv division. She hates Asuka’s attitude.
these are all of her lines, if they are good enough and don't require re-takes, you are good!
"Asuka is one good trauma from cracking like an egg...and it will be ugly I assure you, Director Gantz. Gisselle is having a rough spot but she will recover....she deals with things in a very adult way and can be counted on in most situations. Her sync rate may never be is good as Asuka's but at least you can count on her not to fold in an emergency....she can be counted on. Giselle just needs some time. "

First Lieutenant, He is one of the three main computer technicians at NERV Headquarters, along with Makoto Hyuga. Shigeru likes playing guitar in his free time.
M'am, the Angel has broken the surface of the water and is in landfall. The JSSDF is engaging at this moment with limited effect. "

Age: 30
He is employed by NERV as a special inspector. He wears a ponytail, has a constant chin stubble. Kaji appears to be a triple agent, working as a special inspector for NERV, while secretly investigating the organization for the Japanese Ministry of the Interior, and at times seemingly acting as a cat's-paw both for and against Yui Ikari and SEELE. In addition, he seems to maintain personal motivations beyond loyalty to any organization, and speaks frequently of his desire to "find the truth." Kaji and Misato Katsuragi were lovers during college, but they had long since broken up.
Kaji is a flirt with most ladies he talks to.

This role is to announce the location where some scenes in the show take place, When listening over the narration, I had decided it would be better if we had a different voice announce the locations we were at.
Ideally, the voice would be kind of emotionless as it's just reading a location.

Asuka is bitter and hateful, she is the best of the two pilot candidates but her borderline psychopathic attitude is why she isn't chosen.
There are only 2 other lines, and they are super short.
I would appreciate if you can do a take with and without a slight German Accent.
