False Hero is a fantasy soulslike-adventure that is heavily inspired by games like Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Elden Ring.
The game has a somber atmosphere and deals with the concept of Death and learning to let go. The characters don’t talk to each other directly. but speak in monologues.
I have been working on this game as a solo-dev for about 5 years. Some characters are already voiced, but I am now adding the Scribe and am looking for a voice to bring her to life.
False Hero is set in a world that is ruled by the 4 gods of life: Birth, Hope, Passion and Wisdom. One day, the eldritch monster Death appears on the horizon and threatens to extinguish every life in this world.
An eternity later, the player wakes up and begins their quest to either save this world from Death, or to embrace Death and let go of existence.

The casting call ends on May the 10th. Please submit your audition until then.
The base rate for this project is $200 per VA. (Recording should take about 1 hour) However, if your personal rate is higher, please indicate so in your audition.
In the detailed casting call, for each audition line, I have added videos showing the corresponding scenes from the game for reference. (With my voice acting as a placeholder)

The Scribe is a scholar that has lived in a lonely cell for a long time.
When she heard a prophecy foretelling the appearance of the eldritch horror “Death”, she locked herself in a prison cell as she was too afraid to witness Death itself.
She is initially anxious when the player first meets her, but her curiosity quickly takes over as she tries to learn what has happened outside her cell.
Hello? Is someone there? Show yourself! (She is cowering in her cell, afraid of who might be coming. Her voice is shaking as she’s shouting into the darkness.)
Is anyone still around? What about the prophecy? Did anyone make sense of it? Tell me! (Her voice gets louder and louder as she gets impatient while still asking questions. There is a desperation in her voice as she shouts “Tell me”. She hasn’t seen anyone in an eternity and needs to find answers to these questions.)
Thank you again. I'm grateful that you gave me the chance to look outside from the safety of my cell, but I think I'm ready. (There is a bittersweetness to her voice. The player has helped her understand what happened outside her cell, and she is saying her goodbye. There is a short pause before “I think I’m ready”)
