Dissidia Opera Omnia Story Dub Chapter 1 (Opera's Voices)
Project Overview
Greetings everyone! I am currently on the look out for a group of voice actors to help me dub cutscenes from the mobile game Dissidia Opera Omnia! Currently, I am looking to dub the first chapter of the game first, excluding the tutorial or battle dialouge!
For now, I am focusing on dubbing the first chapter, but rest assured there will most likely be another casting call with more characters depending on what the chapters cutscenes calls for! I currently have all the footage I need, the script typed out as well as all the sound effects! I am editing the full video currently and will most likely be done before the end of this casting call!
The project will be uploaded to my YouTube channel as well as shorter versions on my other social media platforms, such as Twitter!
The footage I will be using for this project is from a YouTuber named gocalibergaming! I have already asked permission to use his footage, thus there will be a small watermark on the top-right corner with their name! If the explainer video on Casting Call is not working, here is another link for you can get a better example of how the final product might look like!

Since many of these roles do have pre-existing canonical voices, I will not be asking for perfect impressions of other actors, but instead, you're own spin on the character! As long as the voice fits, please consider auditioning with it! Of course, if you do want to audition with an impression of the original actor, you're more than welcome too!
Do keep in mind, that no roles will be cast before the deadline, so no pressure y'all!
Of course, there are rules and requirements for this project. (Not listed in order of importance.)
1. Have a decent audio set up. At Least USB with little to no background noise.
2. Please stay commited! Since this is a large crossover game, many character re-appear in later cutscenes!!
3. Not exactly required, but it would help if you did have some knowledge of the Final Fantasy franchise as well as the mobile game!
4. Submit your audio files in either a .wav or .mp3 format.
5. Again, I'm not asking for perfect impressions of these character's voice actors, but please try to fit the character!
6. Have a discord. All communication will be though there!
7. Do NOT slate your auditions OR do more than 3 takes per line.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me via Discord, as I am most active there! Here is my Discord as well as the public server where future lines will be submitted! Do keep in mind I do also have another fandub project taking place there nearing it's completion! So say hi to the other VA's there, they're neat!

Consider auditioning! https://www.castingcall.club/projects/fire-emblem-three-houses-comic-dub-poor-iggy
"Materia is blunt and assertive. While she speaks in a sophisticated and polite manner, Materia is self-righteous and prideful, believing she has a rightful claim over this World and treating Spiritus (the opposing god) with contempt in spite of their shared desire to protect the world. Materia represents a heavenly angel, but her actions and behavior hearken to the idea of how the sacred and majestic do not always represent the side of good. Although she carries benevolent intentions, her shortsightedness and judgmental and accusatory nature show flaws that are in line with her ruling elements as a goddess, including the fallacy of how power and justification supposedly equal righteousness." -Final Fantasy Wiki
Materia herself isn't a very major character, usually only showing up in the first scenes of every chapter, sometimes more. Keep that in mind!
Voice: Medium-high to medium-low. Prideful, clear, assertive, heavenly, and divine.
"From memory comes great power—the power to protect entire worlds...With this power and you, Mog, we can...we should be able to save this world." (Monologuing, first lines from a character in the game)
"Go forth, and see that the world is not met with destruction." (Encouraging, but still speaking in her divine tone)
"If the world were to fall to ruin, it would mean I have failed as protector and god…" (Somber, thinking out loud)
The servant to the Goddess Materia! His main function throughout the story is to more or less to be to everyone how his world works, explaining their missions, and recruiting other characters to join his quest in trying to tame the chaos that's happening around his world.
His personality is very bubbly and supportive, often being used as comedic relief at times as well as being the mascot/leader of the entire story. He's considered to be a "tutorial" character, such as Morgana from Persona 5 or Toriel from Undertale, helping characters understand his world.
He has a very dominant role in the early chapters of the game, but as more characters start to join the party, he starts to get phased out little by little. He has the biggest workload out of anyone in this casting call, so be prepared for that!
Voice: High. Bubbly, cheery, and overall very cutesy!
"You can count on me, kupo! Together we will eradicate the threat and bring whoever is responsible for this madness to justice!" (Cheery, assuring Materia)
"To think that you were able to take on such fearsome beasts and live to tell the tale... You're incredible, kupo!" (Impressed, astonished)
"Why won't anyone listen to me, kupo?" (Sad, but in a comedic way)
"Garland is a relentless warrior who despises peace and seeks to drag conflict into whatever place he is, be in the world of battle or the world of respite. He is philosophical about his battle lust, believing the "world of respite" to be an absurd notion. He believes the warriors of Materia to be hypocrites for professing to dislike war while continually fighting their foes. Garland continually attempts to persuade them to accept their "fate" of neverending battle as a form of immortality. He is particularly focused on the Warrior of Light, his old rival." -Final Fantasy Wiki
Garland shows up in the second scene and only has three lines, because of this, I'm making all his lines in the chapter the audition lines! In light of this, you don't have to join the Discord server since I'll use the take provided in the audition! However, this character does show up very later down the line, so whoever gets cast for this role can either do this as a one-time gig or claim the role and wait until their time to shine, in which case, I would recommend joining the server!
Voice: Medium-low to low. Menacing, evil, gruff, and regal tone
"Pathetic... With you out of the way, the light shall soon succumb to darkness! Then there will be no stopping me!" (reveling in his victory)
"Now begone from this world!" (Preparing to deliver the finishing blow)
"Hrauagh!" (Swinging his oversized blade, attack noise)
"The Warrior of Light is steadfast and driven. He frequently takes the lead when the party enters a new area or encounters a new danger. Although he is implacable when dealing with foes, he is also quick to accept new allies, such as when Terra attacks in the Snowy Peaks of Crudelis. The Warrior first cautions against approaching her until informed that she was not acting of her own will, and then immediately suggests that they treat her wounds. As their journey continues, the Warrior becomes more prone to show emotion." -Final Fantasy Wiki
Voice: Medium. Determined, stoic, heroic, steadfast, and formal.
"I'm fine. Thank you... Rem, was it? So you, too, are warriors possessed of the light, brought here for some explicit purpose?" (recovering from a fight, questioning his saviors)
"When this is all over...I wonder if there will even be a world left for me to return to..." (Somber, talking to himself)
"Everyone, be on your guard. There is something far more malevolent than mere monsters lurking about." (On guard, warning his friends)
"A Cadet in her Akademia that has to partake in a global war. Rem is kind and brave and devoted to her allies and friends. As she still suffers from a terminal illness from her days in her homeworld, she remains insecure about being seen as undependable. Rem remains reserved even when offended, but She is resolute and assertive in serious situations or when she's patronized." -Final Fantasy Wiki
Voice: Medium-high to medium. Kind, polite, reserved, but still relatively young.
"And we're the only ones who can seal them? I feel that's far beyond our capabilities..." "(Self-doubting, slightly confused at the situation)
"Sir, are you all right? Earlier you seemed—" (Concerned)
"If there's anything bothering you, you can tell me- or anyone else on the team! I just wanna make sure you're doing okay!" (Comforting, well-intentioned)
"Initially, Vivi is clumsy, shy, and gullible, almost to a fault. Often stumbling over his speech and lacking in self-confidence, he is afraid to use his magic to save his friends, believing himself incapable. During his journey, his personality develops and Vivi gains confidence and bravery in the face of danger. Despite his newfound confidence, Vivi questions his existence and discovers he must find answers to some of the big questions in life himself, instead of relying on others' help." -Final Fantasy Wiki
Voice: Medium-high to high. Sweet, child-like, and polite. He says "mister" and "miss" alot!
"Vivi. I am Vivi. Mog found and rescued me when I was first transported to this world." (Politely introducing and explaining)
"Yes, I'm certain of it! That's why we have to do our best to help them!" (excited about the possibility of going home)
"M-more malevolent than monsters!? I don't like the sound of that... Wait! Please don't leave me behind!" (Frightened, to more panicked)
"Sazh has a youthful, carefree, and lively personality. Sazh is a goodhearted man whose relationship with his son, Dajh, serves as his drive. He is silly at times, mostly when he is in near-death situations, but Sazh has a strong will of justice and is always willing to help his teammates. In contrast to the rest of the party, Sazh is more level-headed and mature, often serving as the voice of reason and interjects his opinion when someone is on the verge of letting their emotions get the best of them. He thinks of the rest of the party as 'the kids'." -Final Fantasy Wiki
Voice: Medium to medium-low. Smooth, cocky, mature, yet laid-back.
"Hey!Sorry 'bout that! Was busy inspecting the area. Bet I found where all the monsters are coming from!" (Happily reporting to his team)
"Looks like other worlds also have their fair share of strong-headed soldiers who take on way too much alone. What's your game plan?" (reminiscing about someone, somewhat jabbing at someone)
"Airship? Excellent. That's just my style. Let's go! I can't wait to see how this baby flies!" (Excited, somewhat cocky)
"Kuja is narcissistic, Kuja has an ego to match his power, and he lets his pride rule his head. Kuja uses his elegance to hide his insecurities, and deep down is conflicted over his existence. An enigmatic man whose plots embroil the Mist Continent in war. He is known for his pompous, overblown mannerisms and theatrical rhetoric. After learning the secret to his own existence, he sets off on a maniacal pursuit to annihilate all creation." -Final Fantasy Wiki
Similar to Garland, Kuja doesn't have many lines in this chapter. He serves more as a "work from the shadows" and stalks the main party throughout their adventures. He has the 2nd smallest workload in this chapter, behind Garland, but above Materia!
Voice: Medium-high to medium. Pompous. That's really all I can really say for this character's voice. He should give off a very "I'm above you, I'm fancier than you" kinda vibe.
"Little do they know, should all go according to plan, soon they'll be dancing to the beat of my drum." (plotting, happily thinking out loud)
"Destroying is my specialty! Now, let's play Requiem!" (Pompous, preparing to battle)
"*Sigh* Why must you insist on always ruining my fun?" (Slightly annoyed, but playful)
"A master of martial arts and a member of the anti-Shinra resistance group AVALANCHE. In inviting her childhood friend, Cloud, to join the resistance to save the Planet, she learns to face her past and come to terms with her feelings. In her spare time, she runs the bar 7th Heaven and is an excellent cook. In the world of respite, Tifa projects an emotional sensitivity and charisma which she uses to smooth hostility and/or judgment between the warriors and certain new recruits. These qualities intertwine with assertive outspokenness. Tifa is quick to chide Cloud for his reckless and callous solitude when he strives to strike out on his own." -Final Fantasy Wiki
Voice: Medium. Mature, kind, respectful, youthful, and soft.
"Who's there!? You don't appear to be dangerous. You seem... fairly normal. What is this place?" (Confused, startled)
"Thank goodness it's you! I've been looking all over for you!" (Relieved, overjoyed)
"What you're doing is reckless! You don't know anything about this world...so let's stick together, okay?" (Persuading in a comforting manner, worried)
"A young man who is a former SOLDIER. In pursuing his nemesis, Sephiroth, and attempting to protect his world, he learns the truth of his own past. He often claims to be 'not interested'─a notion that is reinforced by his detached demeanor. It is a mask that breaks only when he is overcome by motion sickness. On the surface, Cloud Strife presents himself as a hardened warrior, cocky and headstrong, coldhearted, and disinterested in anything beyond completing the hired job at hand. He tells others, often dismissively and with snark, that he has no interest in larger causes, such as the plight of the planet." -Final Fantasy Wiki
Voice: Medium. Moody, stoic, cold and cool tone.
"Monsters? Tch. Stand back. I've got this." (Confident, cool)
"Maybe you're right. All right, I'll go with you. Just don't get in my way." (admitting, slightly threatening)
"Not interested." (Famous catchphrase, cool, disinterested)
"A young boy who grew up living a rather uneventful life in a highly advanced civilization known as Cocoon. Caught up in the Purge, he loses his mother before his very eyes and soon after ends up being branded a Pulse l'Cie─a threat to society. Hope learns to face his problems through the hardships he endures while fighting alongside his friends. His speech is usually reserved, but he has outbursts when his emotions overwhelm him. He is quick to blame others for his misfortunes and is affected by harsh words and rash actions, especially those involving personal subjects. Hope shows considerable intelligence and insightfulness, able to deduce things from his observations. Coming from an upper-class family and having little exposure to how the world works, Hope has no battle experience and fears confrontation and thus tries to flee from a fight when he has the chance." - Final Fantasy Wiki
Voice: Medium-high to medium. Reserved, emotional, soft-spoken, but somewhat formal.
"Why me? Why do bad things always happen to me?" (Whiny)
"Where are we? And who are they? And why are they—" (Panicked, confused)
"All right, I'm in. I'll do what I can to help." (Determined, joining the party)
"A Miqo'te conjurer and a Scion of the Seventh Dawn who is not only capable of advanced magic but also well-versed in ancient language and lore. Wise and mysterious, she is an expert in conjury─the art of healing. She is a woman of strong convictions, but that's also what makes her stubborn from time to time. a moniker that reflects her calm composure. She is a taciturn, well-spoken voice of reason even alongside her peers. Y'shtola's gall comes out when her patience has been tried, or as a counter to others' bold, irrelevant or confrontational comments. Y'shtola has a cultured and refined diction which, although grounded enough to differentiate her from the theatrical likes, granting an air of wisdom to her." -Final Fantasy Wiki
Voice: Medium to medium-low. Wise, kind, assertive, and cultured. She canonically has an accent, but I'm open to hearing different spins on her voice! Just something to mention if that's up your ally!
"...A Moogle? Your kind do not live in the neighboring regions, do they?" (Concerned, frightened)
"I ask that you draw your swords. It seems we've been joined by a few uninvited guests." (Commanding)
"Fascinating... Perhaps there is more to this world than meets the eye." (Happily thinking-out-loud)
