Project Overview
"Dysfunctional Perspective" is a widely popular, dark Diary of a Wimpy Kid fanfiction created by Reddit user ABitchWhoMakesShit (MoonSXG1).
The 137-part story explores heavy, mature themes like domestic/child abuse and generational trauma within the Heffley family, before concluding in December 2025.
This project already has all its art completed meaning that your voice will actually get somewhere!!
What needs to be done is…
a full script of parts 1-50 (done by me, Elliotte)
everyone’s lovely voice in the dub (DONE BY YOU!!)
editing (done by me, your lovely director)!!
This is mostly just a personal project and something my friends and I can look at.
WIP images + videos will be shared to the VA’S for feedback every so often (along with finished products) in the discord server

Greg Heffley is the main protagonist along with Rodrick Heffley
Greg is your ‘average’ middle schooler who spends his time hanging out with his best friend Rowley, His family, Writing in his Diary—I MEANT JOURNAL!!
eugh diaries are so embarrassing…it’s not like he’s writing his feelings down or anything.
Greg is apart of an abusive household—whether he realizes it or not. And he is taught that the behaviors that go on in his home are normal. Greg is more privileged then he realizes, being the middle child and second favorite (first being Manny Heffley, his younger brother) means all the blame gets put on Rodrick, his older sibling who takes the brunt of everything.

Rodrick Heffley is the main protagonist of Dysfunctional Perspective along with Greg Heffley.
Rodrick Heffley is the older brother (16 years old) of Greg and Manny Heflfey the son of Frank and Susan Heffley, and the drummer, founder and leader of the rock band Löded Diper.
In Dysfunctional Prespective, Rodrick is portrayed as the ‘troublemaker’ eldest son and is treated very harshly by Frank Heffley to ‘set a good education’ and ‘get his child in line.’

Susan Heffley is a character and an antagonist in Dysfunctional Perspective
Susan Heffley, is the wife of Frank Heffley and the mother of Greg, Rodrick and Manny Heffley.
Susan can be described as a loving and caring mother at times. She seems to show a more negative attitude to her two older sons and an immense favoritism to her youngest, Manny.
Susan has been shown to let Frank Heffley abuse Rodrick and only seems to stop them to ‘avoid scaring Manny’

Frank Heffley is the main antagonist of Dysfunctional Perspective
He is the abusive patriarch of the Heffley family, being the husband of Susan Heffley and the father of Rodrick, Greg and Manny. Despising his eldest son Rodrick for his defiance, he regularly abused him in fits of rage to the point where Greg grew conditioned to accept the violence in the household as normal.
Unlike the original Frank Heffley, who is apathetic but loving towards his family, this version of Frank is aggressive and violent. He holds high expectations towards manhood which he wants to instill upon his sons, which he initially pushed onto Rodrick due to wanting him to be his ideal eldest child.

Rowley is a very infantile middle-schooler whose parents are overprotective and disapprove of Greg's behavior, especially Robert Jefferson, who sees Greg as a bad influence on his son. Rowley's parents disapprove of Greg's mistreatment and bad behavior around their child and are quick to be annoyed by it.
Rowley, on the other hand, is not very bright and often does silly things that end up getting Greg and himself in trouble. Despite this, he has a caring but naive personality and always wishes the best for everyone.
Rowley is oblivious to the abuse happening in Greg’s household. He asks questions here and there but isn’t and concerned as Holly Hills might be.

Chirag Gupta is a middle school student at Larry Mack Junior Middle School who is friends with Greg Heffley and Rowley Jefferson. He appears mainly throughout the early Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and films.
Chirag is portrayed as an egotistical showboat and Greg's frenemy. He also has a heavy Indian accent, with ear length black wavy hair that covers his forehead, and noticeably large teeth.

Fregley is a middle school student at Larry Mack Junior Middle School who is known for his eccentric and often disgusting behaviors.
Fregley is very bright for his age, but he tends to be weird and disgusting. Most people find his habits strange and off putting to the point where even mean kids like Patty Farrell are completely terrified of him. In the Diary of a Wimpy Kid live-action film, Greg mentions that he is sent home for hygiene issues at least once a month. He is always hanging out in his front yard alone doing a wide range of disturbing activities

Holly's character is enriched as she is portrayed as a member of a girls' soccer team, a professional model, and a former class president during her sixth-grade year, as disclosed by Chirag Gupta. This makes her athletic and she doesn't mind getting her pictures taken. With a girl-next-door attitude, she exudes a sweet and caring nature, emanating a heart of gold. She is down-to-earth as well.
Holly is a popular girl in school who hangs out with Greg Heffley during Art class. She becomes more and more suspicious of Greg’s home situation overtime.

Albert Sandy is a student notorious for spreading bizarre, lunchtime rumors and urban legends. While his classmates often fall for his wild stories, Greg Heffley is highly skeptical of Albert's tall tales.

Gary Heffley (better known as Uncle Garry) is the Uncle of Rodrick, Greg and Manny Heffley.
Most of Gary's personality is not shown in the book, but he is shown to be a money-loving person who uses up his money to buy lottery scratch cards, which he hopes to win. He also appears to fail or leave every job he had for some time only.
He has been shown to be good in relationships with women, having married around 4 times, but divorcing every single time, mostly even before the honeymoon. This is not because he's a bad guy, but because he rushes into the relationships too quickly.
No canonical voice was ever given to him. Feel free to interpret him however you’d like. I imagine him to sound like a laid back ex-rocker if that makes sense.

Uncle Joe loves to outwardly embarrasses, annoy and harm Frank by causing him lots of pain and disgust.
Uncle Joe is classified as very immature, childish, and overly-affectionate. However in “The Ugly Truth”, he does teach Greg how to be more responsible in the future, most likely so that Greg won't end up like Uncle Gary. This may imply that Joe has a sense of responsibility and wants what's best for his nephew.

Uncle Joe Heffley’s wife is an unnamed, dark-haired woman who appears as Greg Heffley’s aunt. She is rarely featured in the books, but is often seen attending large Heffley family gatherings, such as Christmas, with their three children.
In Dysfunctional Perspective she seems to be a regular, caring wife with nothing out the ordinary.
