Project Overview

We are looking for the Male Lead of Defecto

by Kate Love!!

Hello everyone!

Im working with the talented Kate Love, author of Defecto, to give life to the characters of this amazing world! It is a voluntary (unpaid) role where you would be participating in promotional reels and videos showcasing quotes and dialogue from the book. For now, we are focusing on the MC's but it is a possibility that we might open it up to more characters in the future!

SYNOPSIS

Koru was born a Defecto

Or so she was led to believe...

In Quenari, a world of elemental magic, a forbidden portal alters the destiny of two worlds. When Koru crosses it, she meets Liam, an exiled human whose very existence challenges everything she thought she knew.

Together, they uncover a forgotten truth.

With a new threat closing in and the balance between worlds beginning to fracture, Koru must decide whether to fight for her people… or surrender to the fate that was imposed upon her. Because sometimes, the true Defecto is not being born different, but forgetting to cherish what we have in the present.

AUDITION

This is a Puerto Rican-led project, with a Puerto Rican author, artists, and voice actors. As such, we would love to continue that representation by finding a Puerto Rican voice actor to play Liam. With that said, we are mainly looking for a voice actor that is bilingual (English/Spanish), as both languages are meaningful to the project and there is also a Spanish version of the book. So if you speak both languages, feel free to audition!

IMPORTANT:

  • Include at least 2 different takes of each audition line.

  • Quiet recording space required. Please attach your audition as an MP3 or WAV file.

  • Please make sure to add your discord/social media or best way to contact you in the audition description.

DEADLINE: 10/09/2026 (Friday) 11:30pm EST

Results announced within one week of the deadline, unless casting decisions are made ahead of schedule.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!

Good luck and thank you for participating!!
