Welcome to Danganronpa: Reality Rewind!

This is a project that I’ve had in mind for quite a while, and I’m finally able to bring it to life! I love the danganronpa franchise, and can’t wait to make something of my own related to it! Feel free to message us on discord and ask any questions!


Danganronpa: Reality Rewind   is a video series/fangame that will be uploaded on YouTube. I do not have the assets to create a fangame to its fullest potential, but I do plan on creating a visual novel type video series! Although the story will not follow the canon storyline of DR: THH and DR: GD,  please have an understanding of the game’s contents before auditioning, as the series may still contain spoilers regarding the game’s elements.

This series is inspired by the Danganronpa series, which is a video-game series about 16 super talented or ‘Ultimate’ students being trapped inside a school (or some sort of area), and forced to kill each other by a sadistic bear named Monokuma.


Warning: This content has mature themes such as: Violence, Homicide,  and Suicide. This is not recommended for ages below 16. The characters may also have lines that contain swearing.

What are the requirements to audition?

Failure to follow these requirements will void your audition. I will be rejecting auditions as well for organization purposes.

To Audition, please be able to meet the following:

1. Have a discord account, and join the discord server . Discord is the main source of communication for all of my projects, including this one! If you are cast, I will message you the server  on discord, so feel free to leave that below, or PM it to me!

2. You must be above the age of 14. 15+ I personally have had negative experiences in the past with children’s work ethic/responsibilities in the past, so I do have this age requirement. This story also contains swearing and other mature rated things. Please understand that there will be no acceptions  to this rule whatsoever. 

3. Be responsible. This should be self explanatory, but very few people have been able to accomplish this. If you are for whatever reason unable to submit your lines by the deadline: Tell me yourself, do not expect me to come to you. I am not responsible for your VA work. I expect you to be committed, and have time for this project.

4. Have a good quality microphone. I do not want to hear background noise in your audition, and please, no headphones, no .m4a files. (m4a does not load properly on CCC.)  If you can make a blue yeti sound like an XLR mic, go for it! Just make sure that your audition is in the highest quality it can be.

5. Please read every line for the character you're auditioning for at least 2 times. I want to test your acting ability, and see how you are able to portray lines with different inflections. 

6. It is recommended that you have previous voice acting experience. I would prefer to work with people who are familiar with the process. I'm not saying you need some high-end projects under your belt, or that you won't be considered if you're new to the scene, but your chances of being cast will increase with experience, as I will be viewing any demos/resumes shown to me. However, this is not set in stone. If you’re new to the scene and confident in yourself, I’d still love to hear from you!

7. Be dedicated. I assume you are familiar with Danganronpa if you're auditioning, so you know that fan games/video series' take a very long time to produce. Please do not leave the project because you feel that it has 'died.' If complications come up, I will always notify you!

8. Respect the team, and your fellow VAs. Straightforward. If you are unable to accomplish this, it is unnecessary for you to even audition.

9. Feedback. When asking for feedback, I will only give it to those who ask. If you want feedback, PM me on discord about your audition. I will not respond to the description of your audition.

10.. Have fun! I know I seem very serious in these casting calls, but that is simply due to professionalism in business inquires. If you are cast, I look forward to working with you!

Atsumi Tsuru is the Ultimate Interior Designer. She’s very inanimate and she rarely speaks. She has no interest in social interaction, making friends, or caring for others. She has terrible deduction skills, due to her mind racing constantly, and is practically the opposite if your ideal Danganronpa protagonist. Despite this, her intuition is surprisingly accurate. She’s willing to cooperate with others, but more so in a “to get this over with” tone.


Her voice is medium-low to medium pitched. She’s very calm when she speaks, although she often doubts herself, much like Chiaki during trials.

Having a passion for art has always been a trait that Someina retains. That being said, she hates being labeled as ‘ordinary,’ and will go out of her way to make her art unique, which is what lead her to love ice sculpting. Despite Someina’s outer demeanor, she is actually quite good at upholding a conversation, and giving out advice. She only really opens up to people once she begins to trust them more.

She comes off as very cold and menacing, as she doesn’t share her passions with many, especially strangers. Due to this, Someina’s VA should have a range from low pitched to high pitched, as she changes personality often. Lines that are excited often require a medium-high voice, whilst her earlier lines are on the side of medium.

Mitsuko, claiming the title of the ultimate calligrapher, is a master with literary and artistic styles. She is very conservative and serious, and lacks the ability to understand most jokes. She is similar to Kirumi when it comes to her mannerisms. However, she is also strongly opinionated, and will not let others push her around. 


Her voice pitch should be medium pitched, possibly a bit higher, but should still give off a sophisticated and stand-offish personality. She is very calm and mature.

“I love flowers, because they’re soooo pretty!” Hiyoko may like to crush flowers, but Minako likes to tend to them! She specializes in Herbology, and although she is most commonly called the Ultimate Environmentalist, this drives her crazy, as her official talent is the Ultimate Herbalist. Minako is a very sweet, soft-spoken girl, who spends the majority of her day in some scenic area or another. 

However, Minako gets easily irritated by the slightest of things. When someone gets on her bad side, she does subtle things to drive them crazy constantly, without them ever realizing that she was the cause.

Minako’s voice range should be medium-high to high-pitched. She should sound soft and gentle, but also be able to quickly switch personalities, much like Celestia. When irritated, she sounds much more harsh, almost demanding.

Holding the title of the Ultimate Astrologist, Wren’s goal is to study stars and constellations all around the world! She is a transfer student from America, and the only foreign exchange student in her class. Due to Japanese being such a complex language, Wren’s grammar is rather poor, and she can be a bit unintentionally inappropriate at times.

Wren is very formal, as she has yet to understand Japanese culture, and does not want to appear offensive to anybody. She is very kind, but also a bit air-headed. Due to this, she can be a bit of a hindrance during class trials. All that she wishes is to live a good life, doing what she loves most. 

Wren’s Voice is more medium pitch, although I encourage you to experiment the most with her range, as she does not have a set voice.

Ikuko Hirabayashi | Ultimate Choreographer

As the Ultimate Choreographer, Ikuko is very creative and always looking at things from a unique perspective. She’s easily the biggest meme you’ll ever meet, and she’s hard to take seriously. That being said, when she drops her act, you know that something really bad is about to go down. Ikuko is very awkward, clumsy, and really goofy. She always makes jokes at the wrong times, and doesn’t understand social situations the best, but she can be quite intelligent when she tries, and is surprisingly helpful during class trials, although she never gets credit for it. 

Ikuko’s Voice should be a medium-high pitch, more so on the higher side. She doesn’t necessarily sound like a child, but she’s very youthful and at times, sarcastic.

Kinuyo Akechi is a very mysterious, very off-putting girl. She prefers to spend her time alone in her room, and only interacts with people when it’s most crucial. Kinuyo seems to remember a lot about where she’s from, why she is at the school, and what is going on, along with her talent. That being said, she purposefully hides her entire identity and personality from the other students, in order to try and lure out/intrigue the mastermind. 

Kinuyo is very intelligent, but that is not how she comes off, as she tends to completely ignore the class trials, only chiming in when her life is on the line. 

Kinuyo should have a medium pitched voice. Not quite low, or overly mature, but not so high that she sounds 14 rather than 16 or 17.

Full of energy and always looking for an adventure, Emi loves all kinds of opportunities, as everything can be used as inspiration; except a killing game. But perhaps it can be? Emi is very outgoing, bold, and eccentric. She loves making new friends and learning all about different people, cultures, religions, etc. This is what makes her so talented, as she’s able to really understand what people want, and how to make her food unique to their liking. She’s genuinely the nicest person you’ll meet, in any situation. Although, she can be pouty at times. 

Emi has a high-pitched, childish voice. That being said, she doesn’t necessarily sound like a child, but more so has the energy of one. She always very clearly expresses her emotions.

You’d expect somebody with the title “Ultimate Forensic Scientist” to be more on the dignified, organized side of things, but when it comes to Yukio, his brain is like a cluttered, dusty shelf. Yukio is very clumsy, very geeky, and very unorganized. It seems as though he can never remember what meal he’s had previously, or any plans he makes each day. Whether this is caused by his current situation or not, he can’t remember. He also despises police, for stealing his job. 

Yukio has a medium to medium-high pitched voice, (for a male teenager, anyways.) He has a rather upbeat tone, but easily gets confused, and sometimes even forgets what he’s talking about in the middle of a conversation.

Holding the title Ultimate Appraiser, Seiichi can and will put a price on anything. Whether it’s antiques, gems, people, he does not waste his time on things that do not hold value to him. He is rather confident that winning the killing game is of the upmost importance, and will not hesitate to use his peers to his advantage.

Despite this, Seiichi isn’t as bad as he may sound, as he believes killing does not provide you with compensation, but instead expect it in return. 

Seiichi’s Voice should be medium-low to low-pitched, prestigious, and confident. He speaks clearly and boldly, with a very strong will. He does not raise his voice, but he never backs down from an argument.

Haruto never stops looking on the bright side. He’s incredibly loud, incredibly bold, and to most of his classmates, incredibly obnoxious. That aside, Haruto takes the utmost pride in his work, and carries a bee A.I. around with him everywhere, that interacts with the others as well. He can be quite dense at times, but he’s always very determined to work hard. He’s helpful during class trials without even realizing it. He’ll be on your side, as long as you don’t steal his “Bee Positive” pin.

Haruto has a medium to medium-high pitched voice, and he should always sound high on sugar. (Or honey, whichever works.)

Seiji is a lively, fun guy. He always knows how to lighten the mood, maybe a little too much at times. He gets easily scared by violence, and the smallest sight of blood, despite working with knives so often. His philosophy is to always make sure his food is cooked to perfection, and he’ll never serve it to anyone otherwise. 

Seiji has a medium-pitched voice. He sounds like a typical teeenage boy his age, but much more energetic than what you’d typically expect from one. He has very intense reactions to nearly everything, and is often deemed ‘over-dramatic.’

A studious, reserved young man who works for the money, and not the enjoyment. Despite being able to pull off a very lively, knowledgeable character, it takes everything that Yū has in him not to quit his job to just stay home and read. Yū is patient, understanding, and always willing to put others before himself. If he doesn’t act like it, it’s because he does not want people to take advantage of his sacrificial nature. 

Yū has a very deep, gentlemen-type voice. He speaks calmly, with an undertone of sadness. He always seems as though even talking is a burden, and speaks rather slowly.

Minoru is loud, proud, and in front of the crowd. He always wants to take control of every situation, and cannot stand the attention away from himself. He wants to be a strong leader, and has an unhealthy obsession with being praised and appreciated by everybody that he meets. He refuses to show any sign of weakness, and underhanded behavior. He firmly believes that people only believe what they see, and there is no harm in doing what it takes to win. 

Minoru has a very strong, projecting voice. His pitch is open for interpretation, but he definitely doesn’t have a higher-pitched voice. He sounds as though he is a respectable young adult.

KYAHAHAHAHAHA! Rin has very psychotic/erratic mannerisms, and parades around like he’s just broken out of jail. He’s mischievous, mysterious, and careless towards others. He loves thriller TV shows, and heart pounding adventures. A killing game is a dream come true for someone with his tastes. He truly believes that his luck is better than no other. 

Rin’s personality is very bold, and he can go anywhere from calm to full on maniacal. Therefore, his voice frequently changes pitches between high-pitched and low-pitched. Feel free to use a variety of different voices, and interpret his lines in your own way.

Blub, blub! This school’s loveable mascot is your favorite mystical sea creature, a narwhal!

This creature is sweet and friendly, unless you try and mess with it. Each time a rule is broken and/or a death occurs, Sir Wallis’s “safety mode” is activated, and it becomes silent and deadly, and will hardly react with the students in order to ‘protect itself’ from harm. 

There is no voice reference for this specific character, so feel free to interpret it in any way you like! The only thing to note is that Sir Wallisis a very expressive character, so even if it’s not an exaggerated line, I want to feel the emotion seeping out of it.

Honeycomb is Haruto’s A.I. bee. Honeycomb is gender neutral, but has a high-pitched, friendly tone and voice. Think more towards the Japanese voice for Monokuma.
