Project Overview

Danganronpa: Deadication is a fan-made spin-off of the Danganronpa series created by Spike Chunsoft. We do not claim ownership of Danganronpa.

This fan series takes place in a separate universe with a new cast and a new killing game.

When sixteen Ultimate students wake up in the middle of a desolate forest, they're plunged into a kill-or-be-killed game where only one can survive. Who wins the game... and at what cost?

Voicing Information


  • All voiced lines will be from a script.

  • This project is intended for mature audiences, so there will be profane and suggestive language used.

  • The voices are meant to give the characters life, so be as expressive as you can!

  • You can audition for multiple characters.

  • Multi-casting (one voice actor voices more than one character) is a possibility. It's not something that will definitely happen, but it is a possibility.

  • Each character's number of speaking lines vary a lot. In one trial, one character has 300 words, one has 500 words and one has 1300 words. This is the only estimate I can give you about the number of words.

  • Auditioning Period has Ended!

    Since we just passed the deadline, the auditioning period is officially over and after going over the most recent auditions we've gotten, we'll be talking to the cast voice actors shortly. Thank you to every single person who submitted an audition! This project had over 400 auditions, which is ten times more than I even expected! But there's so many auditions and only so many roles available. When I say that nearly every audition was amazing, I genuinely mean it. It was pretty difficult to choose between specific voices for each character. In fact, we narrowed the potential voices down to about five to six different auditions per character and got stuck again. We even seriously considered the last-minute auditions before making a decision. Even though we finally decided on a single voice for each character, you should know that a lot of auditions fit the character as well. The main reasons we didn't pick certain auditions were: -Some auditions were extremely talented but the mic quality wasn't that good. -Some voices were incredible on their own, but they just didn't suit the character. -Some auditions were completely fine but only had a few minor differences between themselves and the officially cast voice, and there can really only be one voice for each character. Another thing I'd like to mention is about multi-casting (because yes, some voice actors are voicing more than one character). It was already mentioned that multi-casting was a possibility, and I hope you aren't too disappointed by this. We decided on those voices because we thought it suited the character best, not because a specific voice actor auditioned for it. We're very lucky and grateful to have any voice auditions at all, so thank you very much! If you haven't been selected, I hope we didn't let you down. Deadication is just one small project out of thousands of others, and there are so many more opportunities out there. Please never lose faith in doing something you love like voice acting. The voice actors will be revealed in a video soon, and we'll make a post on our Tumblr when it's out. I know I've already said it enough times, but thank you all so much for following and supporting this project!

    The original deadline was November 11th, but we decided to bring it to November 10th (or 9th depending on your timezone). For a more exact timing, the deadline is on Friday 12:00 a.m. or exactly fifteen hours from when this update is posted. We're really sorry if you can't audition because of the sudden change in deadline! We came to this decision after asking for everyone's opinions on the Deadication Discord server and because the deadline shift would let the VA reveal video be posted within a week. Sorry for any inconveniences, and thanks a lot for following this project so far!

Naohiko is the Ultimate Actor and the protagonist of the story. He's confident in his abilities and it's easy for him to get along with others. He has faith that he can put an end to the killing game, but how long until he falls into despair?

Vocal range: Medium. He's the most emotive person in the cast.

  • 1. (joking, flirty) "Believe me, I'm not the killer. The only crime I'm guilty of is being the hottest guy alive."

    2. (near tears) "I-I don't know how to deal with this. I tried my best, but I... I can't do this anymore. I just can't. I'm sorry."

    3. (horrified) “No… no, no, NO! You can’t be dead! You can’t die on me now!”

    4. (frustrated, annoyed) “Oh, for the love of--! Give me time to think! You’re not the one herding around a bunch of clueless students, are you?”

    5. (refutation) "No, that's wrong!"

Hitomi is the Ultimate Illusionist. She always seems to be upbeat and optimistic. She tries to make the most of her abilities, earning her the title of the most lovable friend, and she's the glue that holds the group together. What would happen if she disappeared?

Vocal range: High-medium. She's caring and optimistic, and that can easily be seen in her voice.

  • 1. (optimistic) “Not to worry! It’s sixteen Ultimates versus whoever brought us here! I’m positive that we’ll be out of this forest in no time, as long as we stick together.”

    2. (caring, supportive) “I know you can do this better than anyone else in this room. You’re the only one who can find out the truth!”

    3. (upset, worried) “It’s… tiring to smile all the time, you know. And I always say that no one’s going to kill each other, but… a small part of me is terrified that one of us might die.”

    4. (angry and betrayed, then hurt) “How could you do something like this? I thought I could trust you! I thought we—I thought that… [sigh].”

Kyusho is the Ultimate Detective. Calm and sophisticated, he enjoys solving mysteries. He keeps his cool no matter what the situation is and when he's working on the scene, nothing can take away his focus. But it does get a little unsettling when he smiles at you like he knows all your secrets...

Vocal range: Medium-deep. His voice is cool and calm... most of the time.

  • 1. (cool and pleasant) “Ahaha. That’s flattering, but I’m not a mind reader. I only made a few deductions and an educated guess. Any other person could have done it too.”

    2. (stating) “This isn’t the first corpse I’ve come across, so I’m not fazed by the sight of it. Not only that, but it’s only natural a murder would occur after that motive we received.”

    3. (slightly irritated) “What did you think I was gonna do, smack the body with the bat again? Relax, I’m simply comparing the shape of the wounds.”

Reika is the Ultimate ???. She neither knows her talent nor does she care. Despite her appearance, she's not an emotionless robot.  She's just tired and never has anything to say. It's impossible to keep up a conversation with her.

Vocal range: Medium. Her voice isn't cold, but something more confused and bored, and with no energy at all. And very dead inside.

  • 1. (distracted and bored) “...Huh? Sorry, I wasn’t listening at all. Pretend like I did and carry on.”

    2. (stating, and suddenly freezing) “Of course not, since the mastermind is—uh… forget what I said. It’s really nothing.”

    3. (sort of defensive) “I don’t really care what my talent is. There’s nothing special about being an Ultimate Student. After all, it’s the reason we’re trapped in this place.”

    4. (awkward) “Uh, I’m not one to give motivational speeches, but… if we all work together… then… umm… actually, nevermind.”

Yuuma is the Ultimate Lucky Student. Although he thinks his talent isn't a good one, he's a friendly guy who just likes joking around and having a good time with everyone. Ironically, he thinks he has the worst luck—after all, he did get stuck in a killing game.

Vocal range: High-medium. He's fun and upbeat but also freaks out and screams many times in the story.

  • 1. (making a joke and immediately regretting it) “I guess you could say the killer didn’t BAT an eye to the body afterwards, huh? Huh? ...Yeah, I’ll shut up now.”

    2. (confused, then shocked) “What do you mean she’s standing right behind—GAAAH! Where did you even come from?! I didn’t hear footsteps or a door opening or anything at all!”

    3. (hiding his disappointment) “Well, I guess a talent as lame as mine has some perks after all. Who would’ve guessed?”

    4. (defensive) “Hey, just because I was at the wrong place at the wrong time and happened to stumble across the body first doesn’t make me the killer! It’s just a stroke of bad luck...”

Iori is the Ultimate Gardener. He's a bundle of energy and pretty much a walking encyclopedia on plants, always jumping with excitement whenever he talks about them. Well, more like jumping with excitement all the time. Don't try to calm him down.

Vocal range: High-medium. Very, very energetic. Even if he's not energetic, he's loud. Not feminine but a bit child-like.

  • 1. (loudly exclaiming) “Nope! I checked everywhere. There’s no way out of the forest! No chance! Zero percent! Actually, it’s 0.002% but I decided to round it off.”

    2. (overly excited) “Ahahaha! There’s so many different kinds of shrubs and plants around this place, I’m gonna have a field day with them!”

    3. (shocked, then normal) “AAAAAAH! I’M A MURDER SUSPECT! ...Well, technically speaking, so is everyone else, so I guess that isn’t anything to yell about.”

    4. (upset) “Stop it! Please… I don’t wanna see you guys argue like this anymore…”

Sakumi is the Ultimate Alchemist. She has a big heart, but she can often be oblivious and zone out from time to time, lost in her own world. It's also hard to understand her whenever she tries to explain what her talent is.

  • 1. (talking to herself) “Ooh, I wonder if I should collect some samples here… But I don’t have any means of inspecting them right now. Hmm...”

    2. (stating, then getting distracted) “Traditionally, alchemy was about converting everyday objects into gold, and… oh, is that some special kind of rock over there? I should investigate that.”

Ayuna is the Ultimate Psychic. She's cheeky and outgoing, and she says she can predict anything. If you actually ask her to predict something, the stars aren't in alignment, her vision is too foggy, or the weather is too unclear for her to focus... whatever excuse you can think of.

Vocal range: High. Her voice is upbeat and playful, but she also gets annoyed and defensive easily.

  • 1. (cheeky) “Sorry for being late! But you know, it’s because I suddenly got a very insightful vision… telling me that I’d be late.”

    2. (defensive, making excuses) “It’s not like I can predict EVERYTHING that’s gonna happen… The weather today just isn’t right for it… Don’t ask me any more questions.”

Shu is the Ultimate Bounty Hunter. Initially, everyone's on edge because he's literally a paid killer, but after talking to him, it's obvious that he's all bark and no bite. He assures that he's not a threat... only because none of them are worth his time.

Vocal range: Medium. He tries to have a tough guy voice, the key word being tries.

  • 1. (rude, dismissive) “The hell do you want? I don’t wanna talk to someone as pathetic as you. In fact, if anyone put a bounty on your head, a shoelace would be worth more than that.” 

    2. (angry, accusing) “Tch! It was you, wasn’t it? You’ve kept your mouth shut this entire time, and I bet it’s ’cause you’ve got the conscience of a dirty killer!”

    3. (boastful) “Heh, it’s nothing to brag about. Naturally, I’d be skilled at figuring out whatever that bastard’s thinking.”

    4. (admitting a mistake) “Shit. Can’t believe I didn’t realize the killer could’ve slipped away through the west bridge by that point…”

Haru is the Ultimate Occultist. They can be a bit eccentric. They like following around people they like and making sassy (and sometimes ominous) comments from time to time. If they ask you to help in a demon-summoning ritual, it's because they trust you.

Vocal range: High-medium. A sassy, androgynous voice would be perfect.

  • 1. (assertive, then enthusiastic) “Stay back, demon! Or at the very least, wait for me to get some chalk and salt and then come back to see this!”

    2. (stating) “In the past two minutes, you’ve blinked a total of thirty-six times, while that black-haired chick blinked only nine times. I think she’s possessed by an evil spirit.”

    3. (sassy) “Oh, sure, let me just use you as a sacrifice in this ritual to get the rest of us out of here. I’m sure you’re totally up for it.”

    4. (annoyed) “You’re automatically putting the blame on me just because I like the occult? Please. The occult is, like, the opposite of murder. I’m talking to things that should stay dead.”

Keiji is the Ultimate Surgeon. He is very skilled with scalpels, syringes, needles and other sharp instruments... which can make people uncomfortable. His demeanor is calm but calculating, and he is always looking to expand his knowledge through 'examinations' of subjects.

Vocal range: Deep. A calm but creepy voice with a slightly evil laugh.

  • 1. (creepily excited) “Ahahaha… I wonder what kind of traps are lying around in this place. It makes me somewhat excited too.”

    2. (stating) “No, medicine isn’t always good. Overdosing can kill you just as easily and painfully.”

    3. (defensive, threatening) “Believe me, I didn’t become a practitioner for no reason. If you’d like, I can give you a free examination… if you get what I mean.”

    4. (amused) “It seems the killer lacks tact. They panicked and left behind crucial pieces of evidence.”

Otoha is the Ultimate Basketball Player. She's upbeat and active. She likes working out and encouraging others to do the same, and she likes being competitive. Sometimes a bit too competitive. If she's cooped up in one place for too long, she can get very irritable.

Vocal range: Medium. As upbeat and motivating as she is, she's equally annoyed as well.

  • 1. (irritated) “This place sucks. It’s so cramped, and I’m gonna lose it if we don’t get out of here soon enough!”

    2. (upbeat) “Practice makes perfect! I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it soon enough!”

    3. (betrayed) “No, you’ve let me down for the last time. I’ll never put my faith in you ever again!”

    4. (stating) “Basketball’s the type of sport where you need to be wary of your surroundings, but at the same time you should know that your team’s got your back.”

Minoru is the Ultimate Barista. He's a different person depending on who he meets. He can be reserved and polite when needed, and a chaotic party animal the next minute. Despite his often boisterous nature, he is also mature enough to keep a straight face in serious situations.

Vocal range: Medium-deep. His voice shows how chill he is, and it's slightly husky.

  • 1. (playful) “Aww, come on. My eyes close whenever I blink. That counts as enough sleep, right?”

    2. (stating, trailing off) “I’ve seen weirder stuff this past week. That bear, this killing game, a certain attorney who’s leeching off my coffee…”

    3. (worried) “No, I actually heard a loud noise from the shed. He might be injured or something. If it’s what I think it is… let’s just hope it isn’t.”

    4. (suddenly serious, disapproving) “This isn’t a joke, you know. Someone is dead, and we’re all next. So if you don’t take this seriously, feel free to get out of here.”

Luna is the Ultimate Arctic Explorer. She seems timid on the outside, but don't let that fool you. She's pretty tough and has incredible survival instincts. She's very logical and strategic, thinking of twelve back-up plans for any situation.

Vocal range: High. A soft-spoken voice that is surprisingly strong.

  • 1. (matter-of-factly) “It’s not that cold. The average winter temperature is just around negative forty degrees.”

    2. (suspicious) “Hey… didn’t you say you’d be at the greenhouse when the murder happened? How come I saw you lurking around the river?”

    3. (stating) “It’s not that I’m pessimistic, but it’s always good to have a backup handy. Adaptability is the most important factor when exploring harsh regions like the Arctic.”

    4. (shocked) “If I’d stayed in the toolshed just a few minutes longer… I would’ve become the victim instead?!”
