I am planning on creating a fandub of the game Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. I hope to dub the entire game, although I may skip the class trials since they are long and already dubbed. As a result, I am looking for voice actors to participate! All characters are open, excluding Hiyoko, who will be voiced by me. You are welcome to audition for multiple characters. Keep in mind that it is not a requirement for you to sound like the original English VA. Imitations are fine, but feel free to experiment with the character and their voice! The fandub will be posted on Youtube in episodes.
REQUIREMENTS
1. No background noise in your audition. Please make sure when submitting your audition that it is of the highest sound quality available. Avoid mic pops/other background sounds.
2. Although it is not required for you to have played Danganronpa 2/any other game in the series, knowledge of the game and its plot is required. If you want to familiarize yourself with the game, you can find playthroughs on Youtube.
3. Be willing to dedicate time to this project. Although time conflicts are understandable, this is a lengthy project that will require time to complete. Please take into consideration the work that will be required when auditioning.
4. You must have a Discord account. I will be communicating with the members of the fandub through a Discord server, so an account is necessary.
Student of Hope Peak's Academy and the protagonist of the second game. He has no memory of his Ultimate talent. His personality is skeptical, logical, blunt, and a little awkward.
1. "I'm not so special that I *have* to introduce myself, and formalities are always a little embarrassing... Well, this *is* what's expected... I guess that's how I should think about it. My name is Hajime Hinata."
2. "That day became a day unlike any other... A day which held a more significant meaning. It was a special day... A very meaningful day full of despair. That was the beginning. The killing school trip had begun, and this tropical island was the stage."
3. "The person who did it...is one of us? I can't believe it... There's no way I can believe it... But...if it's really true... We need to find out, by any means possible... Because...that's our only option. There is no way for us to survive unless we sacrifice the killer... And so... ...this life-threatening trial billowing with hope and despair... ...has begun."
Chiaki is the Ultimate Gamer. She has a sleepy, lethargic personality but becomes much more excited and energized when talking about games.
1. "I'm Chiaki Nanami, the Ultimate Gamer. Video games are my hobby, and I'm a fan of all genres. ... Nice to meet you."
2. "It's fine if you don't know. What matters is that you hold on to the feeling that you have to do your best. So...let's do our best. Let's make sure a killing like this never happens again."
3. "...Anyway, let's begin. I mean...in the end, we still have to do it, right? As long as a killing happens, we can't do anything about it, right? We have no choice but to do it, right? Besides...it's our fault that we couldn't even prevent it..."
Nagito Komaeda is the Ultimate Lucky Student and comes off as a polite and easygoing boy. His personality is fairly submissive and self-deprecating. It is revealed early on in the game that Nagito has an obsession with hope and the Ultimates.
1. "...I'm Nagito Komaeda. Nice to meet you. I'm the Ultimate Lucky Student... At least, that's what I'm called anyway."
2. "I understand better than anyone else that I'm ultimately worthless. I'm too arrogant to have dreams or cling to hope... I'm too disdainful to actually try at anything... I've made peace with the fact that I'm a lowly, stupid, insignificant human who can't do anything right."
3. "I love everyone here. That's why I want to be of good use to them. I love all of the Ultimates...and I admire them for being symbols of hope. That's right... In the name of hope, I love everyone's talents from the bottom of my heart. That's why... I don't want them to lose against something like killing. I want them to prove to me that hope will never lose, no matter how daunting the despair they face may seem. I want everyone to prove to me that "hope will never lose to despair"!"
Fuyuhiko is the Ultimate Yakuza. He starts off as extremely rude to the other students, even claiming he's capable of killing to escape the island. As the game progresses, he becomes more open to interaction with the others and avoids badmouthing the students, to an extent.
1. "Name's Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu... Just so we're clear, I don't plan to act friendly and shit with other you guys."
2. "Don't talk to me like we're friends or something! I live in a completely different world than you bastards... Kill or be killed... That's the kind of world I live in. Heh, the current rules make more sense to me than that "Play nice and get along" crap."
3. "Hmph...I'm not avoiding you bastards. ...I've just decided not to rely on anyone. That includes the Kuzuryu Clan... I can still survive without relying on them... Don't get it twisted. I'm a yakuza by blood. It's not like I don't want to head the family business someday. I just want to prove I've earned it."
Akane is the Ultimate Gymnast and a participant of the killing game on Jabberwock Island. She loves fighting and has a very fiery personality. Akane prefers to solve problems with her fists, and her hot-headedness can sometimes create issues.
1. "Yo! The name's Akane Owari! Nice to meetcha!"
2. "I wanted...to keep eating his food... Gah, grievin' like this isn't like me! I'm prolly actin' strange 'cause I'm so hungry! All right! All I gotta do is eat!"
3. "I know coach Nekomaru is a monstrous guy. There's no way he's gonna die from somethin' like that... There's no doubt! Nekomaru is definitely gonna come back! S-So...when that happens...I'll make sure...I apologize to him. Cause I was too weak, and I caused him trouble... So when he comes back... I'll make sure...to say I'm sorry."
Sonia is the Ultimate Princess and a cheerful, polite girl. Despite her status, she has a desire to be treated as a normal high schooler and wants to make friends with the other students. She is very kind and thoughtful and is protective of the people she cares about.
1. "My name is Sonia Nevermind. I am foreign exchange student from a small European kingdom called Novoselic. I may cause trouble here and there, but I hope we can get along well."
2. "Society is much like fruit. Once it matures, it is inevitable that it will eventually rot. As the economy grows, the private sector stagnates as elders and bureaucrats become more and more powerful... As time passes, this power becomes the status quo, and crushes the seeds of any possible reformation... ...Such a sad trend."
3. "Nothing will come from fighting like this. There...there is something else that we must do. There...is something more important we must do. Do our best. Do our best so we never have to come back here again. That is what...I believe we must do right now... "
Kazuichi is the Ultimate Mechanic. He is very emotional despite his carefree facade and is easily scared. Despite some weird quirks, Kazuichi is one of the more ordinary students of the group.
1. "Name's Kazuichi Soda. I'm the Ultimate Mechanic. Nice to meet ya."
2. "Seriously, if we're on a tropical paradise then why are we in this situation in the first place!? Isn't that right? Isn't a vacation supposed to be nothing but lounging around and sipping coconut juice!?"
3. "Hold on, hold on! Who do you think I am!? I'll definitely fix it up till it's like brand new! Then when it's all fixed, I'll give it to you! Just watch! I'll completely fix it up, and I'll make you say thank you with tears running down your face!"
Gundham's title is the Ultimate Breeder. He has an eccentric personality and often rambles about the underworld and his evil powers. Gundham cares deeply about his animals and understands them better than he understands people.
1. "Kehehe, would you like to know my name? Others may see your courage as recklessness... However...I welcome it. In honor of your courage, I shall reveal to you my name. May you never forget is as long as you live! You may call me...Gundham Tanaka!"
2. "You humans...are so satisfied with clothing yourselves in layers of false knowledge! But even with all those layers, you still will not survive the winter! Tch! It was foolish of me to rely on you fools... Fine, I shall do something about it on my own. Now if you'll excuse me, I must go save the world."
3. "There are no second chances in life... We cannot return to what has already transpired... There is no other way than to move forward, like an arrow of light piercing through the darkness..."
Nekomaru is the Ultimate Team Manager and has a boisterous, passionate, and optimisitc personality. He enjoys fighting and physical training and is often very loud. He has a lot of willpower but isn't the smartest of the students.
1. "I am the Ultimate Team Manager, NEKOMARU NIDAI!!! Don't forget it, even if you go to hell!"
2. "Damn fiend...I won't give up until the very end! I won't die in vain... I'll give my entire existence, my entire power, my entire body and soul, and fight to the very end!"
3. "I'm just a mere team manager... Therefore, I don't know anything about art. However...when I saw Mahiru's photos for the first time... My vulgar heart was greatly shaken! Truly, that is a splendid thing! I will never forget how she taught me the value of art!"
Mikan's title is the Ultamite Nurse. She is a timid, shy girl who is extremely paranoid and fragile. She has low self-esteem due to the abuse and bullying she has suffered, and is quick to break down or assume someone is angry at her.
1. "M-My name is Mikan Tsumiki. Um... From the bottom of my heart, I hope we can get along."
2. "Heee...everyone is so kind... I'm so glad everyone is so thoughtful toward their friends...! Hehehe, we're all equals when we're sick. Let's all work together and do our very best."
3. "Ah, so in the end...you're all just a bunch of bullies, huh? Justifying your actions with fancy words... M-Making excuses for why it's not really your fault... E-Everyone always treats me like that... Always... 'It's all her fault...' 'Sh-She's the one with the problem...' I...I'm done with that! You hear me!? I'm doooooooooone! It's not fair...It's not fair not fair not fair notfair notfair notfair notfairnotfairnotfairnotfairnotfair... Why won't you forgive me!?"
Ibuki is the Ultimate Musician, an upbeat girl with an eccentric personality. She is very perky and eager to talk but often ends up going on bizarre tangents. She acts very quirky and hates boring things.
1. "'I," "Buki," "Mio," "Da!" Put it together and what do you get? Ibuki Mioda!"
2. "H-Hey...isn't this kinda bad? The mood's totally set to like, "OH NOES!" right now, y'know? I got it! Ibuki's gonna help get the party started by siiiiiiinging! ...Man, even *I'm* not sure I should say that right now."
3. ""The truth is so overwhelming that I can't help shouting out! I never expected to find a music venue. I can't help feeling excited! Man, with a venue like this, Ibuki has no choice but to lend a helping hand! This is just the beginning! Yahoooooooooooooooo! I'll invite everyone to feel this wonderful feeling!"
Peko is the Ultimate Swordswoman. She has a serious demeanor and can be quite intimidating. However, she cares about her fellow classmates, especially Fuyuhiko, even if she doesn't explicitly show it.
1. "My name is Peko Pekoyama. It is nice to meet you, too. Don't try anything inappropriate... I would prefer...not to kill anyone. "
2. "Hmph...it appears that...the time has come for this mask to come off... However, that's perfectly fine... It's no longer necessary. And...even if you find out now, it's too late for you all to do anything about it. My duty...has already been finished. My duty as a tool...has already been completed in full."
3. "As I said before, I exist as nothing more than a mere tool... I had no motive for killing... No reason to kill...not even the will to kill... I was simply used as a tool. As long as I am a tool, I cannot defy my orders."
Mahiru is the Ultimate photographer and is very optimistic and sensible. She has high expectations of men and is often harsher on the boys of the group than the girls. She does her best to help everyone but is not afraid to stand up for herself and her beliefs.
1. "Let's see... I'm Mahiru Koizumi. I'll be counting on you from now on. I'm eager to get along with everyone so we can get off this island, but I was worried things wouldn't go well."
2. "Hey! You may talk like you're tough, wiseguy, but you wouldn't be here unless you were scared, too! I guess even a big bad yakuza like you must've been scared of that monster, huh?"
3. ""C-Complaining won't get us anywhere! If you're really a man, then man up for god's sake! We've come this far... We have no choice but to keep moving forward..."
Teruteru is the Ultimate Cook. He is very lewd and often hits on anyone near him, whether it be male or female. Although his behavior often makes the others uncomfortable, he has a very upbeat and enthusiastic personality.
1. "My name is Teruteru Hanamura. On the streets, I'm known as the Ultimate Cook... But could you guys call me the Ultimate Chef instead? It has more of a...big-city flavor to it, ya know? Mmhmhm, I hope we get along well."
2. "Compared to the world class dishes I make, a dish that tastes "yummy" would still be considered shit... In fact, even comparing them is out of the question! Comparing MY dishes to this lowly peasant food, how rude! I'm just saying, if you guys ate my food, you wouldn't be able to control yourself."
3. "Mmhmhm, I may be a pervert, but I'm the kind of pervert everybody likes!"
The Ultimate Imposter poses as Byakuya Togami throughout the game. Due to this, their true personality is unknown. When disguised as Byakuya, they act arrogant and rude.
1. "My name is Byakuya Togami...I am the Ultimate Affluent Progeny of the Togami household, destined to stand above all others."
2. "No matter how confused or upset you are, I don't mind. However, remember this... I don't know who in the world is orchestrating this but... We don't need to be cautious of those machines...or even of whoever's controlling them... More than anything, we must be cautious of... ...Ourselves."
3. "There's no time to think about something as foolish as killing each other. You must do what you have to do. Observe, speculate, recognize, comprehend. Even if it seems impossible...just persevere. But most importantly, follow my lead. I'll make sure to return you all to your normal lives. This is your leader's order."
Monokuma hijacks the school trip and forces the students to participate in a new killing game. He is the villain of the game and often pops up to remind the player of school rules or other information.
1. "Why, hello there! Thank you all for waiting! Long time, no see guys! I am Monokuma! I'm the headmaster of this academy! Puhuhuhu!"
2. I'm not ordering anyone to kill. Whether or not you kill someone is entirely up to you. But be careful! Youth doesn't last forever! Anyway, I'd like for you all to go through with this killing school trip in a healthy and positive manner."
3. "Gooooood morning, everyone! Looks like today is gonna be another perfect, tropical day! Now then, let's show some enthusiasm and make sure to give it our all today!"
Usami, later known as Monomi, is the mascot character of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. She is the leader of the school trip. After being defeated by Monokuma, her appearance and name change to match the killing game.
1. "That's right, I am a squeezably soft stuffed animal. Magical Miracle Girl ★ Usami...A.K.A. Usami! I may not look like it, but I am your squeezably soft teacher. Nice to meet you all!"
2. "Gather Hope Fragments so that the flower of hope achieves its full bloom. Truly, that is... ...the main purpose of this school trip! Love! Love!"
3. "Everyone needs to look to the future... That's why... you shouldn't look back to the past... Keep your eyes fixed on the future! L-Let's do our very best!"
