CHI Project
Project Overview
Every 7 years, the prestigious King's Invitational is held in the nation of Lyssidia. Sponsors seek out only the most promising gladiator candidates to rise to the occasion. The prize? An audience with the king himself, as well as one wish that he MUST oblige, no matter what...
...or so the announcements claim.
In reality, very few newcomers make it to that stage, with event after event falling into the hands of an aristocracy with no intentions of allowing any threats to the status quo to pass.

CHI Project is a RenPy visual novel with a turn-based combat system. Currently Chapter 1 of Nathaniel's route is playable, with a total of 3 character routes and 1 endgame route planned.

What I am looking for are actors to perform voice lines during battle (casting a skill, levelling up, etc.). Currently I have no plans to fully voice act the story, as that's a bit too large in scope, but I might have short bits of dialogue punctuating each sentence the way Danganronpa or 3DS Fire Emblem games handle it.

The first of our three main characters and the newest hire for the gladiator team Livewire. An image can be found here.
A young boy who lives beyond the walls of Lyssidia. He lives with his grandmother, Miriel, and works in her convenience store as a cashier, heavy lifter, and occasionally bodyguard.
As a consequence of an accident early in his childhood, Nathaniel’s arms had to be amputated and replaced with his iconic corded gauntlets. These gauntlets were provided to him rather than conventional prosthetics due to lacking enough insurance. Thus he had to teach himself how to use chi in order to manipulate his gauntlets pseudo-telekinetically.
For his voice, I imagine him speaking softly with very little change in tone. He's not excitable, but not completely emotionless either. I'd prefer for his pitch to be on the higher end.

Real name Izumi Rokujou, "Skylar Spark" is the rebellious second child born to the Rokujou Group, a prestigious aristocratic family that traces its roots all the way back to the original construction of Lyssidia’s Outer Wall.
Due to circumstances that Skylar hates explaining, she has been disowned by her family. Finding a sponsorship has been difficult as a result, as few companies wish to incur the wrath of the Rokujou Group, and many terms and restrictions have been thusly placed on her.
Skylar's voice should be able to easily switch between that of a sickeningly sweet generic anime girl and a hair trigger temper delinquent with a lower register, illustrating the difference between her public persona and her real self.

Despite being a newcomer to the scene, Cody has amassed a dedicated fanbase due to his good looks and flashy fighting style that seems almost effortlessly graceful.
Cody’s public persona is that of a playboy social butterfly, though something about his smile doesn’t quite reach his eyes.
Cody's voice should be casually seductive with a bit of a playful friendly drawl. Ideally he should be a bit breathy and his pitch should be on the higher side.

A prematurely retired gladiator once known as “Lionheart,” he is blackmailed into returning to the public eye once more by a shadowy group that threatens to kill his younger sibling, Zebulon.
Lincoln possesses an open chest and heart wound that is continuously reopening and subsequently being healed manually by Lincoln’s use of chi. This has caused several health problems, such as occasional numbness at the ends of his limbs and autoimmune disorders.
Lincoln's voice should be very deep and powerful, but held back by the fact he's perpetually tired because of his troubled past. It is absolutely imperative that you get across that he is a deeply depressed individual. Ideally I would also like whoever gets the role to be fantastic at screaming with a growl.

Lincoln’s younger sibling. Very handy with machines despite their age. Currently Lincoln and Zeb operate a humble tech repair service in the Middle Ring.
Even though they’re kept in the dark about what’s really going on behind the scenes of the King’s Invitational, they still support Lincoln from home with their remote-controlled Zebulon MK VII drone.
Zeb's voice should be on the hyperactive side, perhaps a bit scatterbrained too. However, they should also be capable of reining that in when expressing concern over just how self destructive their older brother is.

A bright-eyed recent graduate from the National Police Academy who is initially assigned to Noival City, but is immediately transferred to Galehar for unknown reasons despite her lack of qualifications.
Though concerned with following the handbook to an almost obsessive degree, Ryka’s overall pleasant demeanor and happiness in helping others has given her a place in the hearts of many.
Ryka's a very upbeat person trying to put on a professionally polite attitude (perhaps failing) and her voice should carry that impression. Extra points for sounding like a dork imitating a paragon superhero.

A sullen and jaded officer of the Noival City Police Force who is assigned as Ryka’s mentor during the latter’s probationary period and later is called to Galehar with Ryka for unknown reasons.
Alcohol is her weapon of choice, using it as a catalyst to conduct chi through, allowing her to fight using all sorts of neat party tricks.
Xiniu's voice should be low and husky with a dangerous edge, as if daring her listener to make a move.

A marvel of technological progress, Bricina’s personality is entirely artificial with no human origin, unlike her teammates. She is programmed to be cheerful and overall easily marketable as the face of Heavy Metal, though internally she has become somewhat self conscious about this fact. Compared to Phoebe and Heihua, can she truly count herself as being genuinely alive without organically having been through a similar amount of lived experience?
Bricina's voice should sound energetic. She's someone that looks at the world and everything in it with wonder. I will probably give her voice a slight filter to make it sound more robotic. A good singing voice is not necessary, but appreciated.

Formerly known as “Stonewall” during their time as a gladiator, a career-ending injury forced an early retirement out of Heihua. That is, until the A.Idol Project approached them for a second chance with a golem body. Now as “High Hat,” Heihua puts their combat experience to use as the most experienced member of their team.
Regardless of submissions, Heihua's voice will be put through a filter to sound like it's coming through a mask. Outside of that, their voice should sound wise, speaking in a rhythmically slow manner as if reciting poetry.

Lead guitarist and backup vocalist for Heavy Metal. An image can be found here.
Bedridden at an early age due to terminal cancer, Phoebe’s abnormally regenerative chi became more of a hindrance than a help due to expediting the growth of the cancerous tumors afflicting her body.
Phoebe was a big fan of gladiators, most notably Lionheart, but her circumstances prevented her from becoming one herself. Naturally when offered the chance to become a member of the A.Idol Project (a project aimed at creating golem celebrities who were simultaneously gladiators and musicians).
Phoebe's voice should have a rough quality to it (I'm not sure how to explain it, maybe something like Lydia from Beetlejuice).

The elegant heir to the Rokujou Group and Skylar’s older sister. A prodigy in swordplay, Electra took the gladiator world by storm when she ended David Ciani’s 10 year win streak at the age of 17, and set the record of “Youngest 1st Place Winner.”
She frequently features in advertisements as a consequence of her popularity, limiting her already busy schedule further.
Despite her immense talent for the sport, Electra’s heart has never really been in it. Combined with the fact that her relationship with her younger sister has been severely strained by the constant comparisons between them, sometimes she wishes she could stop being “Electra” and return to just being Kaori. But so long as she carries the honor of the Rokujou name, she’ll never be able to rest.
In contrast to her younger sister, Electra is much more mature and dignified, as expected of her official capacity as representative of the Rokujou Group.

Not much is known about his private life, as outside of public appearances David spends much of his time in his vast mansion alone.
David's voice should sound intimidating, and maybe a tad vampiric, with a slight hint of condescension. Very rumbly.

Though quite young by the standards of most gladiator moguls, Circe has carved quite a large empire for herself through shrewd business acumen and unorthodox hiring practices, capable of scouting hidden talent from just about anywhere.
