Danganronpa: Mystic Mayhem
Project Overview
"It was clear as day that when I stepped through those front gates, something wasn't right. Something felt...off. Just when I thought it couldn't get weirder, I wake up somewhere else, in a strange room filled with 19 other people. We were the newest victims of the killing game."
DRMM is a work in progress fanstory located primarily on Discord and will be posted episodically on Youtube in the future. We boast a cast of 20 (yes, I said 20) characters from the All boys Yukawa Academy boarding school plus their psychotic headmistress, Monokit! We will be creating a Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr account to post updates, concept art and more in the future! episodes will be published on the youtube channel, however that won’t be for a while, we’re not currently on any short deadlines and we’re updating slowly - but when we have more done, the project will be worked on much more frequently!
This is the first big project that I have ever tackled in such a way, with myself and my boyfriend making this project for fun and because we love Danganronpa as well as its active fandom. This is not serious or extremely professional, so please don’t worry about that! We’re nowhere near a professional level when it comes to communication.
REQUIREMENTS
1. A Discord will be needed! This is the easiest way for me to be able to contact you for lines and updates. It’s completely free, easy to use and it’s really easy to create an account! Our main source of communication is on this platform within the DRMM server.
2. A mic of decent quality will be much appreciated. If there are concerns about the quality of your audio and/or mic, I’ll let you know! However this doesn’t mean you have to have an ultra good quality mic that professionals use, a mic on the phone or an earphone mic is fine if that’s currently all you have and it sounds good!
3. Commitment is key! Please audition only if you’re completely sure you’ll have time for this project to record lines. If you have concerns about meeting any deadlines please contact a week or so before hand, in doing so we can reschedule what we can and make sure everything is organised.
4. You must be prepared for your character to die at any moment. All of the fates of the characters in the project have been decided for a while now, however information about who, how and when will not be disclosed here. Please don’t get mad if your desired character is killed off early. (Don’t let it put you off either! You may be needed for future recordings for things like flashbacks)
5. Going off of that, you must also be prepared to have your character survive for a long time, especially the protagonist. This will be a much bigger commitment if they live up to the second to last or final chapters of the story. It also means you’ll be working with a lot of lines.

((NOTE: please only audition for this role if you are completely certain that you can commit to it! Yuuya is the protagonist of this story, and will ultimately be the one with the most work added on to it.))
Yuuya is a gentle being with a heart of gold and a will of determination to help change the world for the better. Bright, sprightly and with a strong sense of Justice, he takes it upon himself to find out why this killing game happened, and who was behind all of it. He is decent at being a leader, but his judgments can be clouded by his emotions, which makes him quite annoying to other characters who do not enjoy their own emotions, such as Ichiro.
Despite always helping others, he doesn't take care of himself or his own problems and emotions, and sometimes can end up snapping under pressure. However - he's gotten hiding his more unfavourable emotions down to an art to keep up a nice, hopeful role model type image for everyone else to feel calmed by. Yuuya has to deal with sleep walking problems, though it is not deteriorating, nor does it happen every night, he is always careful and can sometimes sound quite tired despite his best efforts to hide it. On a rare occassion, he can wake up in different places.
After careful consideration, Yuuya's voice is most similar to the Japanese voice of Makoto Naegi. His pitch is medium/fairly high.
1. (A little reserved/akward) "ah...m-my name is Yuuya...Yuuya Sakakibara...Th-they call me the ultimate Philanthropist...It's not a great title, I know, nor is it very catchy. It's why I much prefer the Ultimate Charitable Student, haha."

Cold and distant, with a disgust for showing his own real emotions, Ichiro stands as a forceful person who cares little for anyone else. People are unsure of how the academy even picked him up, and his vague description of how he became an Ultimate Pickpocket unnerves some people, leading others to make wild theories of how he became who he is today.
He is rude and rough around the edges, and the one who opposes Yuuya the most in the ways he handles things, often taking up a leader type role whenever the boy breaks down. Though unsettling, he is able to help people understand a situation logically, however can appear cruel and uncaring by doing so.
After careful consideration, Ichiro's voice is most similar to Byakuya Togami. It was hard to find something for Ichiro, since i do see him having a fairly deep pitch. However I do not mind a deeper/ slightly higher pitched interpretation at all for him.

2. (disgusted/Irritated) "Damn you, fuckin' robot bastard. Like I'd associate or kill one of these brats, they’re not worth my time. Not now, not ever."

He has a very rigid and militaristic personality, with an attitude that you must be stern and be able to discipline yourself responsibly. Though he does have a softer side, he rarely allows people to see it, not at all open with trusting others to see a vulnerable side of him. He does not enjoy imposing his personality and ideas upon others, and has the highest respect for other lifestyles and ideas, despite disagreeing with the lifestyle as he never grew up that way. He has a passion for a family life when he is older, and wishes to be a father in the future.
After careful consideration, Buichirou's voice is most similar to Hades Aidones, from the anime Kamigami no Asobi. However most other roles filled by Daisuke Ono is similar to the pitch I imagine for this character. Other interpretations however are welcome!

He became known mainly through his fathers scandals and record hit musical career as a rave and a DJ, following through and creating what's now known as the greatest rave club in Japan, hosting and going to raves as a hobby and a career.
Yakuto has to be the loudest person someone could ever meet, very obnoxious and loud, he always seems so excited and lively. he enjoys dancing, and doesn't like standing still for more than a few minutes, which makes him erratic, Audacious and boisterous to the others. He is hyperactive, always wanting to talk and gossip and loves to party. He is no where near logical, and can jump to insane conclusions. There is even a forum debate on the internet on whether his hair glows in the dark or not.

He has a charming voice with a lilt of an accent no one can quite place, and an odd aura that makes him approachable to many people. As a natural listener, he is more observant than most, and he holds an air of wealth about him. He has a serious persona, but a friendly enough nature to hold a conversation with. He has a fixation on craving attention, and because he is usually the one listening and not being listened to, he feels quite lonely.
After careful consideration, Enya's voice is most similar to that of Korekiyo Shinguji's Japanese voice. However other interpretations that are slightly higher or lower in pitch is welcome!

Hiro has a naive and innocent personality. He is inspired and admires his brother Hayato, taking on the whole chocolate business with him. He is very imaginative and strives to make others happy, creating different and unique chocolates for people to try and experiment. Yet Hiro could easily be provoked and results with either tears or a small grudge for a couple minutes into recovering, he can usually be calmed down from being tearful very easily with a few kind words. He always looks on the brighter sides of things, and can easily grow embarrassed by his older brothers antics and recklessness.

He is kind, loving and all around a pleasant friend to all he meets. Even in the face of those who hate him, he has only shown compassion and strived to outdo and achieve what his bullies said he couldn’t do. He suffers from Asthma, but that drawback still doesn’t keep him from practicing and being hardworking and talented in his ability. He is extremely talkative, friendly and bubbly to everyone, a social butterfly even to his enemies. He is especially kind and respectful to his classmates. After gaining fame in the Olympics and many other national/international competitions alike, and being dubbed as the greatest skater in the world at such a young age, Yuzu applied by himself to the Academy, wanting to learn other skills to add on to his reputation for when he does retire in the future.
After careful consideration, Yuzu's voice is most similar to Yuri Katsuki's Japanese dub, from the anime Yuri on ice. However slightly higher pitched interpretations are welcome.

Ooh...you’ve heard me by that title. I guess being called the greatest male figure skater in the world is flattering..but more often than not, it’s overwhelming.”
2. (disturbed/determined) “A killing game…? That’s bogus! I’ll do everything I can to make sure we all get along, nothing’s going to get in my way of making sure we survive this wretched place!”
3. (cheerful/bubbly) “I’ll be able to put on my greatest performance yet! And it’s all thanks to you, Yuuya. I’ll make sure to keep in touch with you and everyone else I made friends with after this is all over...I know deep down that none of us want this killing game.”

As a child, he was happy, outgoing, and was always fun loving and a people person to the customers he met as he lived in a travelling circus. As he grow older, he began noticing he could communicate with reptiles and amphibians, however his connection seemed strongest with snakes, He was made into an attraction in the Circus as a "snake whisperer" and became a hit performer.
No one is sure what happened to Orochi during a period of his lifetime where he nearly dropped off the face of the earth, however to reemerge as a herpetologist quickly rising in the ranks for how well his work was in his field, soon earning his title of Ultimate. His personality however had become distant and cold, only showing much emotion whenever he was talking passionately about his work, or if he was spending time with his snake, Ladon.
After careful consideration, Orochi's voice is most similar to that of Snake#s English dub, from the anime Black Butler. A slightly lower/higher interpretation is also welcome, however his voice at it's highest is most likely mid range.
1. (calm/monotone-ish) “It appears that you and I were drawn together until we met in the middle, my companion and I are quite curious to get to know you, I guess. I am Orochi Homura...the Ultimate Herpetologist. And this is the light of my life; my best friend Ladon.”
2. (Irritated) “It isn’t like i’ll stick around any of you to even try killing. Don’t look at me like that. I am no murderer. Ladon and I would never do such a thing.”
3. (A little happy) “Herpetology has always been an interesting subject ever since I was exposed to it. Specifically, I prioritise the study and protection of snakes, so you *could* class me as a serpentologist if I wasn’t so good at everything else...O-oh uh...Would you enjoy hearing more about Ladon and I?”
4. (annoyed/then happy) “How dare you...Insulting Ladon in such a way by not bringing him a gift also?! Tsk...but...it is thoughtful. I’ll accept it. But next time, do *not* let me catch you insulting my friend by forgetting about him!”

Born and raised in Korea, he debuted with his group at the tender age of 14, soon enough becoming the face of his band, the face of their record label, then quite the household name for all when it came to the kpop industry. He takes part in many aspects of social media, from blogging with his band, vlogging on Utube with millions of subscribers, and being all around a trendsetter. He did anything and everything he could to get to the top in celebrity status, however is reluctant to even tell anyone about what he did to get there.
He is quite selfish, childish and bratty - however is easily able to mask it under a cute, friendly facade. The reasons why he is like this is unknown, but despite having everyone around him, he himself feels the most alone. He feels like no one pays attention to him completely, despite having millions of adoring fans, caring friends in his class as well as his group.
After careful consideration, Jun's voice is most similar to Alphonse Elric from the anime Full metal alchemist - but brattier. However other interpretations are welcome as I'm not too sure what I want for his voice!
1. (cutesy/bubbly) “Hey-o! Let’s go! It’s your favourite Maknae, Park Hui-Jun, the Ultimate Kpop Idol! Let’s have some fun and not let this weird place freak us out~!”

3. (asshole/irritated) “You think you had the audacity to talk down upon me? A star amongst the lowly rocks and mud of all of you lowlifes...I feel like I'll fade into obscurity if I have to suffer here for much longer...hmph!”

Akihito was raised in a haunted house with parents who were skeptics and didn't believe Akihito whenever he had a paranormal encounter. As he grew up, he idolized other Paranormal investigators or any big name in the supernatural community. One night he flew the nest of his old home, no one truly knows why, as every interview Akihito has ever done, he has avoided that topic like that plague. He has a penchant to break into supposedly haunted areas to find out if things that happen in those places can be proven or not. He sometimes gets in trouble by the police for it.
He is confident in his abilities, brave faced and an all round nice guy to be around if you let slide his tendency to be extremely stubborn and opinionated. Other than that, he's quite logical whenever someone talks to him about the paranormal, and is always happy to debunk myths about the supernatural community and how things work...just don't call him a ghostbuster.
1. (Energetic/pumped) “The name is Akihito Hiroshima! I'm your man if you're having trouble with a poltergeist or two! So who ya gonna call!? Me! The Ultimate Paranormal Investigator!”

3. (Tired/calm) “Honestly, that's not how it works. If you go into a haunted house not looking into it as a skeptic, you'll have a much harder time trying to debunk whether an experience was real or fake. It's where a lot of movie or tv Paranormal Investigators go wrong. It's why many believers in ghosts think of anything that happens in a supposedly haunted place was real. That's where I come in. Proving the existence of these spiritual entities and debunking others as either hoaxes or just plain imagination. Even nature plays tricks on us.”
4. (a little surprised/happy) “A gift eh? Well, I shoulda known such a selfless person like yourself would go out of their way to give an idiot like me a gift. Really appreciate it man. Hiro was always aware that he wasn't a typical boy, or manly in any regards, and it drove him to find solace in what seemed to be the only thing that listened to him, the flowers and plants in his grandmothers’ shop. When his time in middle school was coming to a close, he started showing off his artistic prowess in flower arranging, noticing more and more that people started coming to the humble shop for him, calling him an amazing and skilled flower arranger. He debuted as a “celebrity” in the artistic side of the community when he began taking on commissions from big names, prestigious institutions, and his skills took him all over the world.
He has quite the social media presence and a huge following on all his accounts, which he is always extremely humble about. Befitting of his general aura and appearance, Hiro is a very passionate and gentle soul, with not much intensity to his nature. As he looks delicate, like a flower, many people underestimate his own willpower, however he has quite a startling amount of determination and confidence for such a slight, small character. He prides himself on being a hardworking member of society, and feels a sense of empowerment when he is able to always put a smile on someone's face with his artistic style.
After careful consideration, Hiro's voice is most similar to that of Chihiro Fujisaki. He does however sound more boyish than the character i'm comparing him to. however other interpretations are welcome!

Amou was raised by wolves after an event in his early childhood he calls "Loud crash" where he only remembers the sound of screeching tires and a few shouts, before being taking in by a family of wolves, the mother had a litter of pups, and instinctively took the boy in to raise as her own. For 15 years of his life, he spent his time isolated from civilization, out in the wild and honing his skills and senses to the point where his ability became more animalistic than human.
He was taken in by a well known family of hunters soon after his 15th birthday, when he was found wild and hostile by them. He was adopted, and began learning basic English and mannerisms that he would have learned if he had lived a normal life. He has an extremely naive view of humanity, and is incredibly innocent to the horrors that mankind can commit. He's extremely friendly and trusting, despite his large, intimidating appearance, sharp eyes and furskin poncho and wolf head he wears over his head. Many are afraid of him at first, but he really acts like a puppy more than anything else.
After careful consideration, Amou's voice is most simalar to Gonta Gokuhara's English dub. However, his voice is more gruff and rugged than how Gonta usually speaks. Other interpretations however are welcome!

Born and raised into a family of animal handlers, veterinarians, Zoologists and more - Tori always knew he would end up with a similar job. As a child, he would often help his parents and older sister in their family vet, and always insisted that he knew how to talk to all kinds of dogs. Somehow, despite many not believing him, he always knew what was wrong with them, quickly becoming quite the local celebrity for his uncanny ability. Growing older, he started investing more time into creating a sanctuary of his own, which now holds over a hundred wolves being rehabilitated and/or raised to be released into the wild, it even spans to foxes and other similar animals. Tori then got his own documentary show, skyrocketing his fame especially through the internet.
An extrovert and outgoing person, he’s hyperactive and loves to socialise with both human and wolves alike, though a little eccentric and out of the ordinary. His cheerful presence and blunt attitude is a breath of fresh air, and he rarely cares about sugar coating things. He is brutally honest, and because of that he can be extremely tactless with his words when it comes to humans. He respects many people as his equals, especially his classmates, as he believes most of them have much more useful talents than his own.

He is distant and a loner to social activities and having friends or relationships, instead deciding to follow in his mothers foot steps and make porcelain dolls for a living. His unique talent, alongside his unnassuming, unexpected appearance and age, became quite a talk between others. Mainly antique dealers and the likes.
His dolls are all his children, and he prefers their company over any human interaction if he can help it, His artistic ability and attention to detail, even the handmade clothing done by him, became a hit for the older generation more so than the younger. He has a hard time ever selling a doll, and is elusive on the market, making anyone who owns a doll created by Nariko a holder of a very rare collectible item. He doesn't consider his talent useful at all, and was unsure as to why he was even titled an ultimate or even given a place in the academy, but he went along with it.
After careful consideration, Nariko's voice is most similar to Shuichi Saihara's voice. Both his english and Japanese dub suit him fairly well. but other interpretations are welcome!

After graduating from middle school, and finding his knack for pranks and never getting caught, he decided to start a channel on Utube, where he gained internet fame as both the youngest prankster and the best in his field. He enjoys being an entertainer, and has grown whackier in his contraptions. Haruki is organised and competent, and as boring as it sounds, he enjoys reading, listening to opera's and classical music. He dislikes dirt, messes of any kind, bugs and cannot handle the sight of blood, lest he throw up, he is also extremely wary of rollercoasters. His family are the Takahashi's, who run a bank aptly named the "Epitome of Excellence" His parents are already rich and full of themselves. Unlike them, he tries to be more caring a modest.

Gabriel comes from a hyper wealthy family from Europe, descended from royalty and nobility respectively. At the age of three, he was pushed by his mother, a famous pianist, into playing an instrument. He soon realised his talent at the violin, becoming competent at the mere age of 6.
Growing up, Gabriel then started to go into competition after competition, lapping up the fame and fortune it brought, as well as the freedom he had with the wealth he had accumulated himself just by being incredible. He was treated like a king at every venue, becoming full of himself and selfish.
He is very risque in both his fashion sense and his personality in general, with very little redeeming qualities about him other that he can make friends, and he does, oddly enough. He’s seen by everyone else as an asshat who jumps to conclusions very easily, as well as spoilt and bratty. He has quite the mean streak, and can seem disinterested in many things about the others. He is prideful, with an angelic side he uses as his charming weapon.

However, as he grew, he realised his younger brother was more favoured when it came to the shop and the chocolatier business, and despite being happy for his younger brother and his success; he flew off the rails and became more detached with his childhood personality.
He became flirtatious, a traveller and an all around playboy to anyone he thought was handsome or beautiful. Despite being more of a black sheep of the family, he did find a unique talent he excelled in that gave him more fame than he imagined, being a chocolate sommelier and taking the opportunity to stroke his ego.
Taking on quite the talent, he is rather egotistical with what a unique talent he has. Hayato is seen flamboyant and flirty, also being very talkative he has lots of acquaintances with many people. He tends to have a charismatic behaviour toward the other classmates he thinks look cute or handsome.
After careful consideration, Hayato's voice is most similar to Rantaro Amami's japanese voice. However lower pitches are welcome too! Try not to go too high on his voice.

He began much like Hiro in a humble shop owned by his mother, to help out, he would forego school and other events, even sacrificing friends to help his mother run the shop. He learned how to run and make coffee quick, and he was so good that the shop became a tourist spot in Japan. The shop, named “antei” was so famous and its coffee so delicious that many didn’t know how this young barista did it, even going so far as to save dying coffee shops almost out of business across the country into an antei coffee shop chain. He earned his ultimate title this way.
He is quiet, reserved and prefers spending time on his laptop than actually socialising. Keitaro has a protective streak despite not being the best at working or talking to others, often being misinterpreted as he tries to explain things. Due to bunking off school so much, he’s not smart, but he isn’t dumb to life and it’s lessons that can be learned. Though he may act like a blunt tool in the shed, he can tell who can leave a bad taste in his mouth after he talks to them fairly easily, and is able to read their body language decently.
After careful consideration, Keitaro's voice is most similar to that of Kaoru from Ouran high school host club. however lower interpretations are welcome too! I don't see his voice going too high.

Caspian Lived with two loving parents, but had no siblings; so lived quite a spoiled life - however he didn’t turn out bratty as the spoiling also came with hard work when living on a boat in a harsh environment like the sea. managing to keep the boat and live life on the ocean, breaking records and working as an oceanographer with his parents before being approached by the academy. He nearly didn’t take the offer, but since it was a school that served as a prestigious place where the brightest students in the world gathered, he decided land was worth the risk.
Just as with his appearance, he is extremely carefree and happy go lucky - the laid back type who enjoys going with the motions like they were waves. Of course, he is not calm about everything, especially during the killing game, and is always friendly to people, regardless of whether or not they’re friendly back. He has many quirks that paint him out to be an oddball, and likes the idea of enjoying life, as well as ready to put a grin on anyone's face if they’re down.
After careful consideration, Caspian's voice is most similar to Nekomaru Nidai. However i do imagine the pitch itself to be slightly higher and not as gruff.

Monokitsune, Or Monokit as she prefers it, is the self proclaimed head mistress of Yukawa Academy all boys school, boasting her talent for fun teachings, and fun killings~
She is completely psychotic in the way she speaks, her voice is also very high pitched and would be better suited for a female voice actor to play. She is wily, cunning, but can get easily upset with her "precious" students.
She tends to switch her personalities from cutesy to dangerous in mere milliseconds, and will not allow any sort of rule breakage in the game. She is merciless, and rarely accepts any compromises. No one actually knows if she is the mythical creature that she so claims to be, or if she's just a robot, or odd plush of sorts that controls this world. Her methods of Motives are brutal, and her antagonistic nature is unsettling even to the most unshakable of characters.

He is senile, quite the dotard and loves to complain about the young whippersnappers in his old age. No one actually knows if either he or Monokit can actually age, but he acts like he gets older every day.
Monokappa wears a broken monacle, and holds a walking cane to keep himself up, he enjoys relaxing and procrastinating as much as he can, much to Monokits chargrin. As much as he denies it - he can be easily bribed with cigars or alcohol. He can act like quite the grandfather, and despite being loyal to the headmistress, does seem to have a softer heart and a lighter, nicer opinion on the class, even going so far as to befriend a few.
Monokappa's voice should be as elderly as you can make it. but he doesn't have too high pitched a voice.
1. (irritated/senile) “Er...ye gotta be kiddin’ me...how about you troublesome squirts go bother the seven tailed mutt? Eh…? You ain’t leavin’...fine I’ll give ya me name. I’m MonoKappa, The groundskeeper. How ‘bout ye get off the grass an’ stay outta the ponds, you weed!!”
2. (exasperated/aggressive) “Hows’ a’bout ya schmucks stop bothering me! Respect yer’ elders kiddo, this old Kappa is gettin’ on in years!!”3. (Drunk/gruff) “This ain’t some fairytale y’all are livin’ in. It’s real an you’ve gotta- hic-! Gotta pay the consequence..consequences w-when ye- hic~! When ye commit to a ‘einous act ya know...this ol’ boy knows ‘is stuff! ...hic~!”
4. (irritated to helpful) “Bribin’ me with ye wine are we? Me thinks ya tryna get me to do somethin’ for ya….ye fucks know ‘ow to get to me- give it here you bleedin’ little blighter! I’ll ‘elp ya for that bottle of fine wine from ye ol’ castle ya got-!!”5. (senile/calm) “I don’ quite get how the reject tails got the ‘eadmaster job ya know...I ain’t just a simple grounds keeper...am I wisseee ol’ Kappa...back in me golden years I wouldn’ be puttin’ up with the schmucks runnin’ about tryna kill each other, ye get me?”

The role is self explanatory, you will become a main helper in a team of writers working together to help bring the story to life! Please apply with the knowledge that getting on to the team means a commitment to the development of the fan story as a whole, and that this is a long term project. The requirements is to create either a fan written trial and execution, one execution on it's own or a free time event with the protagonist and another character of your choice.
You must be able to understand more than just basic punctuation, spelling and grammar. Please use Google docs to submit your piece by linking it to try out.

The requirements is to showcase a small sample of sketches that will be judged on their quality. You can apply to be one a background artist, concept artist, sprite artist (and work alongside Our head sprite artist) and more. Pixel sprite artists are also needed, and the requirements is either to showcase any previous pixel sprites you've done, or create an entirely original one out of one of the characters.
