Butterfly Effect - Indie Anime
Project Overview
Butterfly Effect is a web mini anime series covering a romance story between two highschool boys, Josh and Haru.
Each episode will only be between 30s and 1 minute long. It is supposed to be a lighthearted, fun story to watch - or is it?
Haru has a secret crush on one guy from his school, Josh. The only issue being: Josh doesn't even know Haru exists.
Together with his friends Haru makes up a plan on how to get close to Josh.
But how to get close to someone popular like Josh without being socially awkward?
For Haru, an independent soul, this is easier said than done.
Furthermore, Haru soon realizes that Josh isn't entirely who everyone thinks he is.
A story about expectations, courage and turn of events.
Would you find love, if the world was about to end?

We (me and my team consisting out of just me at the moment) are searching for people interested into becoming part of the project.
Needed and welcomed with open arms are voice actors of all kinds! :D
(Perhaps if anyone was super interested, also some artistic help with animation, character design, Background art, etc.)
Communication will work via a dedicated Discord server.
Recording of voice will be done before the animation process of each episode starts.
(Exception being Episode 01 and 02, which are already in production).
I hope to find cool people to create a cool place for this hobby anime project.

Until now this project is just a hobby of mine. ^^
Me, a 21 years old boy, doing script, screenplay, storyboard, animation, character and background art all by myself.
I guess, I really have no life. :D
Sadly that also means I cannot offer any payment for the work done, as I don't get any money out of it.
The least I can do is to offer proper credits, meaning in the episodes, video descriptions, social media links, etc.
I am not necessarily looking for someone professional.
Much rather I would love to find likeminded people, who adore animation/anime as well and would like to be part of the project for fun.
Since each episode will only be up to a minute long, there wouldn't be much recording needed for each episode.
But please be aware, that this is just a personal project and I might never be able to completely finish it.
Maybe its just gonna be one episode. Maybe two. Or a hundret. I still don't know.

One of the main protagonists is Haru - your typical daydreaming classmate.
He likes to get lost in books, music or writing poems.
Although being naturally introverted, Haru isn’t too shy to interact with others.
Around his friends he is a cheerful, slightly sarcastic, humorous person.
Because his hair is blond and always wild, he completely gave up styling it in any certain shape.
Haru fails at organizing and can be a little airhead, when lost in thoughts for the entire day.
Because of that, his mum often scolds him, but she totally loves and supports her son.
Haru and his mum live together in a small city apartment. His dad left when he was little.
Sometimes Haru feels a little lonely.
Relationships
Haru has a crush on Josh ever since they shotly met after school. Haru was gazing out into the sky and Josh thought he was upset. When Josh smiles, Haru starts blushing.
Within their relationship Haru wonders, if he will be able to return all the kindness coming from Josh.
Haru loves spending time with his friends but is pretty isolated in his private life.
Large crowds are exhausting for Haru, as he likes to observe his sourroundings closer than anyone else.
His mum is his personal hero. Since his parents got divorced, he has had no contact with his dad. But his mum always tried her best to offer Haru a wonderful childhood.

Josh? Are you alright?
It’s not like I want to be part of a club. And besides… I like watching from the sidelines.
Josh (short for Joshuar) is one of the main protagonists.
He is the stereotypical tall, relyable, popular guy, that everyone likes. He is captain of the football team, president of the student council, and a studious student. He is a logical judging type of person.
However, deep down he struggles under the weight of high expectation he has for himself. This is also why he hates thinking about his own future. His greatest fear is to be left alone, if he doesn't function perfectly.This is leading to him suffering from panic attacks occasionally.
That is also why he puts on a mask in public, helping out his friends and family wherever he can, risking to burn himself out. He wears a smartwatch, that always keeps ringing, because of the many people contacting him for requests.
But even when Josh is stressed out he would answer phonecalls with a perfectly happy voice.
Relationships
Within Haru he finds someone who seems to accept him the way he is.
The first person who ever asked him "And how are you feeling?"
His parents are usually busy with their work and fight a lot when they are having time together. Josh is sure that they are on the verge of breaking up. He loves his little three year old sister although he often get's stuck babysitting her.
Josh has a ton of friends and almost no enimies. He is there for his friends in any situation and feels more at home when spending time with them instead of his family. This is why as a kid he would often spend the time outside playing with his friends rather than at home.

Mr. Parker is a supporting Role in Butterfly Effect.
He loves his work and is very engaged into bringing the best out of his students.
As his classroom teacher Mr. Parker tries to get Haru to sign up for extracurricular activities to make more friends, as he is concerned that Haru might shut himself in.
He is teaching Biology and Math. He is a nature loving, down to earth guy.
You never see Mr. Parker without some tea or teacan nearby.
He absolutely hates it when students are late to his class, but he is okay if they 'forget' their homework once in a while.

Lena is one of Haru's best friends.
When she finds out, that Haru has a crush on Josh, her goal becomes to get them together - whatever it takes.
She is not a social butterfly and usually not in the center of action.
Lena is not afraid to share her opinion on things.
That is why she often argues with Haru's other best friend Taki.
Relationships
Haru and Lena are friends since the beginning of middleschool.
Being both shy kids throughout middle school they first weren't talking to each other on their shared way home.
Only when they got to sit next to each other in class they finally opened up and share a good friendship ever since.
Taki came along as a package deal when they entered highschool. Since Taki and Haru were childhood friends before meeting again in highschool, Lena is a bit jealous of Taki.
The two of them argue almost all the time when it comes to Haru, but actually they deeply care about another.

I miss how things were between us.
Honestly! This is SO unfair.
Taki is one of Haru's best friends.
They know each other since they were little.
Since a little child Taki is sitting in a wheelchair. As a child he was a bright, open-minded kid and became friends with Haru.
Unfortunately due to several hospital stays, Taki moved away after elementary school.
This was a great loss for Haru, who naturally had a hard time making good friends.
Due to coincidence Haru and Taki met again in Highschool and still get along swimmingly.
Taki has grown into a young, funny, sarcastic man - although he rather refers to himself as 'realist'.
He isn't rather optimistic about Haru and Josh becoming a couple and sees himself in a competition with Lena over their friendship with Haru.
Taki is the only one having many friends outside of the trio. He tries to do everything by himself and dislikes being helped.
His mum is rather over-protecting towards him, not realizing, that he just wants to grow up like everyone else.
Relationships
Haru and Taki are childhoodfriends and have many inside jokes and shared memories.
They are both airheaded at times and talking about trivial nonsense - which is annoying Lena from time to time.
Lena and Taki met in Highschool for the first time. Despite their usual fighting, they get along pretty well.
Taki actually even has a little crush on Lena.
Josh is an always charming nice-guy, which Taki absolutely cannot stand.
In fact, Taki is the only one not trusting Josh at all. He is suspicious whether Josh is actually just toying around with Haru.
He refuses to accept help from Josh and occasionally gets jealous, because Lena is also hyping Josh.
Mr. Parker is Taki's homeroom teacher and making sure that Taki can follow the class. Taki and Mr. Parker are always throwing ironic jokes at each other.

Sam is one of Josh's friends. He is a member of the football team and always has an advice for everyone.
He is a chilled and cool guy, but can be a strong minded person.
He often wonders, how Josh is managing his life and is sometimes worried about it.
If something happend, Sam is the kinda guy that would jump in last minute to save the day - no matter how big the task.

Michelle is probably the most energetic girl one would know.
She often drags others along just with her presence.
As member of the school counsil, she is in charge of keeping the group together.
Michelle is a fan of cute sweet things, like cake, plushie animals or adorable people.
That is also why she likes to give people cute nicknames.
Despite her overall happiness, she sometimes feels quite lonely.
She lives with her dad, who is an alcoholic since her mum passed away.
Sometimes Michelle smokes a cigarette when the day is too stressful.
Michelle occasionally breaks rules at school but the teachers let it pass because of her overall engagement into school activities and charm.

Relationships
She treats Josh like a long term friend, but eventually teases him as if he was her little brother.
Perhaps she also has a crush on him, but keeps that as her secret, because she values their friendship more than a relationship. She sometimes calls Josh - 'Yoshi' - the name of her favorite cute Nintendo Character.
Michelle adores Haru. Acording to her, Haru has the cutest fluffy hair she has ever seen.
Because of Haru being smaller than her, she gave him the nickname 'Chibi'.
Haru and Michelle get along great as they start to open up towards each other.
Sam sometimes tries to hit on her, but she doesn't give him much attention.

For this project I am looking for someone who has a good eye for Character Designs and can draw corrections/correction notes over the animation or animation layouts. :3
I basically need help with keeping all the character designs consistent throughout the animation process.
Especially I don't have much experience in drawing cute female characters.^^'
Also I lack in drawing cool/alternative character outfits.

Requirements
- interest in being part of this animation project
- Time to look over drawn animation and add correction drawings/notes if the design is off to improve consistency
- Solid drawing abilities are mendatory
- Cool ideas for character designs, change of designs with character development
- Understanding and matching the 'sketch'-like artstyle of the series.
- Communication will be done via Discord Server
- Doing it just for the fun of it :D
