[Book Club Dubs] Deadman Wonderland Abridged - Episode 1
Project Overview
Hello and thank you for checking out our Casting Call for Deadman Wonderland Abridged. We are a dubbing and abridging group primarily known for our comic dubs, and we have had need of new voice over talent to lend themselves to our roles. These roles are NOT COMPENSATED.
If you'd like to see more of our work, please check out the video above. We'd love to hear from as many talented and passionate actors as we possibly can, however to maintain the level of quality that we strive to reach—we are going to be setting a few ground rules.
Requirements & Information:
•Please utilize a USB or XLR Microphone. Microphones such as phone microphones, headsets, etc. will not be accepted.
•You will be cast based on your quality and performance. Be variable with your inflections and delivery, and please take steps to ensure that your audition has little to no reverb. We will be gauging your recording setup on your audition for casting decisions.
•Record only the audition lines provided. Please do not slate.
•We will not be casting any role before deadline.
•We'll be using CCC to get in contact with those chosen for the role, and from there we will be utilizing Discord for interactions and recording.
•This role will be recurring, so please be aware of that before you audition, as we will be abridging the entirety of the series.

Voice Preference: Medium-High to High
Ganta is a very whiny screechy teenage boy who does a lot of yelling. He is also the protagonist of this story and will have the most lines. Be aware of this when auditioning.
[Waking up concerned then excited checking on friend who he finds dead scaring him then afraid of being stabbed next] Gher… urgh... Aw man my head is killing me… Looks around at dead bodies Oh my god… HELL YEAH! CLASS IS CANCELLED! Hey Mimi… I think i’m gonna take a blood loss nap could you- ARGHHHHHHHHH! You know I think my next class is starting soon! So if I could just get by yo- ARGH!
[Scared/Surprised then attempting to hide but is found out and is blown away by explosion] Huh? What's that sound? Oh my god! A FLOATING POWER RANGER! Urgh uh… Ganta is not here right now… leave a message after the beep… BEEEEEEEP! Shit… ARGHHHHHHHH!
[Slow building inspiring speech about his goals offhandedly remembering his dead friends] I don’t know if there is a god… or why he would allow this… but if there is anyone listening out there… please… give me the strength… I’m going to kill the Redman… Clear MY NAME… AND GET THAT ICE CREAM, oh yeah and Mimi and Yamakatsu too I guess...
Voice Preference: Medium-High to High
Shiro is almost always excited, energetic, and over the top. Acts in a very child-like way most of the time. Shiro also talks in broken sentences. [Gone-Tuh] [Sheer- Roh]
[Overly loud callout and excited while trying to hit Ganta] GANTAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Wanna play pinata? You don't remember how to play? I'll teach you! If you keep dodging Shiro will never get the sweet candy inside!
[Quieter, getting close to Ganta, then excited again when talking about being friends] So you don’t actually want to die? Well I figured as much… I can hear your heart right now… it’s going all… Boom boom chika chika boom boom ahhh… Of course I know Ganta! Shiro and Ganta are the BESTEST, COOLEST, OMEGAEST buddies in the GALAXY!!
[Badly pretending to be dead, then excited to play again finally responding to if she is OK] Shiro is dead… bleh… Got you... shovels to the back of Shiro’s head make Shiro really tired… Hey maybe next time I can be the Pinata! Then Ganta and Shiro will be even! Shiro have very thick skull!
Voice Preference: Medium-Low to Low
Makina is the experienced chief warden of Deadman Wonderland. Cool and calculated most the time. Slightly stone faced but seems to enjoy her job.
[Explaining how things work around here] Anyways gentlemen. Here in Deadman Wonderland you will serve your sentence living life and possibly death, to the fullest! After all you ARE our staple income around here with all the entertainment revenue we earn from citizens! ...Any questions?
[Eager to help out] Hey, twink. You have a fly on your chest. I'll get it for you! ...Let me get it it'll be real quick! ...Just a quick little SWAT! Damnit... missed...
[Upbeat] Oh it went on your head let me get it for you… Oh whoops it seems I missed again! Maybe i’ll get it next time… Well then enjoy your stay boys! I’ll see you all later!
Voice Preference: Medium
Yo is a very relaxed and friendly sounding guy most of the time. Though also has a more devious side when trying to achieve his goals. He is more prominent down the line but is still is in the first episode for a scene.
[Badly acting friendly and shady sounding] Oh no! I knocked all your precious valuables onto the floor, let me get them for you!
[Trying to do it yourself then begging them to let you do it and finally getting sliced with a blade] Huh? Oh uh... thanks? Uh wait, I think I can- no PLEASE let me- YOU REALLY DON'T- ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
[Has been sliced by a blade lying on the ground] Pained groans
Voice Preference: Medium to Medium-High
Tamaki is the human personification of a fox. Sly and a schemer. Mostly treating people with fake kindness. He also acts very refined and will randomly spring into a few french words to emphasis this. Don't worry too much about the french we can fix it later.
[Eccentrically sucking up to Ganta] Oh mon petit maître du sang~! You’ve had it so rough but I believe you! How about you and I get some ice cream. As your lawyer i’ll be sure to take GOOD care of you~.
[Faking being defeated after doing nothing and despairing] Well we did all we could Ganta boy! Yes, even with both of us giving 100%, your evil nature was just too ingrained to keep your talkative impulsive confessions in check!
[Asking about Ganta then exited and brushing her questions away] Sigh Well at least you met the new death row inmate Ganta Igarashi… how did the poor boy seem? Ahhhh~ Wonderful! Then everything is going just fine! And the c4 charges are all set on the tower too… Oh don’t mind that my belle fleur...

Normal teenage girl with a slightly off/creepy airheaded feeling to her. Draws out some of her words and will get a little crazy while talking about Deadman Wonderland. This character will only be in the first episode. [Yah-Mah-Cot-Su]
[Greeting friend with a slightly air headed creepy tone] Oh Ganta heyyyyyyy! Reading up on the school field trip huhhhh?
[Building up can't hold in excitement getting deranged] I am SO excited! BLOOD, GUTS, and ALL SORTS OF BODILY FLUIDS. SPEWED all OVER the place! Hahahahahah!
[Airheaded ending as if you know death is coming next] Well if it isn’t our mute best friend Yamakatsu! Hiiii Yamakatsu~! OoOoOoO, got something special in the bag? Oh boy we are going to have so much fun I can’t wait! I sureeee do love being ALIVE with you guys!
Voice Preference: Medium-Low to Low
The Red Man is just a big loud angry bad guy type of voice that breaks 'character' when there plans aren't working out.
[Trying to talk but is being interrupted and pissed and is genuinely fooled for a moment] Ganta-! GANTA-! PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP! GANTA IGARASHI…! THAT IS YOU ISN’T IT? O shoot really… well if you see him- WAIT A SECOND!
[Doing evil villain monologue that can't be heard and is genuinely disappointed by the end] HELLO GANTA IGARASHI! YOU MIGHT NOT REMEMBER ME, BUT I WILL MAKE SURE I BURN MYSELF INTO ALL OF YOUR NIGHTMARES FROM THIS DAY… forward… hello? Can you even hear me? I practiced for hours too... god damnit...
Voice Preference: Medium to Medium - High
The assistant to Makina. Shy and awkward most of the time. Nerdy sounding. Easily flustered and overwhelmed.
[Angry/Panicked] WE HAVE BUG SPRAY IN STORAGE MAM! WHY DO YOU NEVER USE IT!
[Flustered/Annoyed] Hey there uh… pal! Look why don’t we just settle this peacefully and let him go! Mam I’m just an intern don’t you think you should handle this!
[Awkward] So… uh… do you wanna talk about your feelings?
