Batman: Dire Dread (AUDIO DRAMA)
Project Overview
(First, it should go without saying, but this is all based on characters and properties by DC Comics, a company which I have no affiliation with. This is a fan project purely made from passion)
WARNING TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS: THIS PROJECT CONTAINS SOME DISTURBING CONTENT LIKE TORTURE, SUICIDE, AND DEPICTIONS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Batman: Dire Dread is an audio drama where a new fear toxin variant is spread around Gotham City by Scarecrow, making people of the city afraid of Batman and turn on him because of it. It is then when Batman goes through many mental challenges, questioning if his presence does more harm than good. Meanwhile, as Bruce Wayne, he gets caught in the middle of political corruption where The Penguin tries manipulating him to back his campaign as he runs for mayor.
This way, both identities, Batman and Bruce Wayne go through significant and different types of challenges. How it plays out is all in the story.
For this project, you must have a good mic and Discord to contact me, in which I will give you my tag if you are cast.
It should be known that the script is about 248 pages long and has lots of dialogue in certain places. So, any reason you could need a given deadline for your lines extended, I will understand! Just let me know if you are cast and that does happen.
Thank you, and I look forward to hearing your auditions. Good luck!

MAIN PROTAGONIST
By morning, Bruce Wayne is a playboy billionaire icon of Gotham City and CEO of WayneTech. Confident in social situations, humorous, but also has an introverted side.
By night Batman is a vigilante and expert detective, with a mission to make a safer Gotham. No nonsense, gritty, commanding presence and a darkly toned voice are there.
Any voice actor chosen for this role should be able to emulate both sides and make them distinct from one another in mannerisms, personality and voice.

BRUCE WAYNE: I did say I was a busy man. Are you asking because you need a car to flaunt?
BATMAN: I am no one’s master. I am here to end the chaos you all bring in my name. You may have regular citizens frightened, but they are now just as ugly as you all. All of you…turn yourselves in.
BATMAN: Gotham, in or out is where I protect. Maybe you would like to give me a reason why I shouldn’t turn you in by force, right here and now.

Well, come in, Selina. I have mint tea and some cuisines being made.
None of these men predicted or had knowledge of all. It is what they’ve done in response that counted. That includes you, and yes, you will be making history.
Not just him. He’s brought assistance…

Selina Kyle has had a hard life with her resulting in being the stealthy, agile cat burglar known as Catwoman. She is also Bruce Wayne’s girlfriend. While they may be different aliases, Selina Kyle and Catwoman are quite similar in ways. They are flirtatious, smooth talking, humorous, witty and clever while having deep care for Batman/Bruce Wayne, even if she is not a perfect person.

Oh…you know after all this, I think a girl needs some air. What do you say we go for a crawl…or…glide for you?
Mmmm, so much cash lying around…
(Laughs a bit) I don’t know who’s more tense, Brucey boy or Batman.

MAIN ANTAGONIST
Dr. Jonathan Crane was once an average doctor who specialized in certain drugs, and put one forbidden one to use that he thought was beneficial, Nixium. However, his supply was stolen by The Penguin and his crew and as a consequence of this incident, he was imprisoned for years for possessing Nixium.
Now, as Scarecrow, he uses Nixium for a new variant of fear toxin that makes people afraid of the first thing they’re exposed to. In this case, he makes the people of Gotham City fear Batman and turn against him in his grand plan. He plans on making Batman isolated and breaking his mind simultaneously. As well as getting revenge on The Penguin.
He is cold, calculated, takes pleasure in his victim’s mental anguish, theatrical, manipulative and vindictive.

Batman, as a fear connoisseur, I congratulate you. Men like Bradley, yes…you know him, are the ones you aim to keep scared. Just because you keep a few scared, doesn’t mean the ones that need scaring vanish. Quite the contrary. Here is what’s truly vile. I get rid of one problem, you will abhor my methods! This is only the beginning. I will show you what pain a nocturnal, self righteous prowler really does to this city…
Shhhh…hush, hush, Warden. Once you’ve had your dose of terror, you may sleep permanently…
For once the Batman is truly blinded. Why are you backing away? Oh, I know, you can’t tell what’s real here. Many things aren’t real. I’ve proven that. All with Gotham’s gratitude to you. Those who aren’t too blind to see clearly of the plagues you bring, will tear at you like starved sewer rats. Starved for a new scapegoat, like Salem. They’re scared enough…what can you do? Those who don’t tear at you…easy new pickings for me. I will have fun seeing what makes them cower.

Threatening the commissioner or anyone with the police makes you an easy pick to be locked up.
True enough. The problem I’ve noticed is that with some of the…crazies here, for lack of a better word, should be in the asylum, but Arkham’s patients are a different brand of psychotics. They’d influence the regular crazies.
Don’t tell me I have a problem! If anyone can subdue this impersonator, it’s Batman!

Good, good…I haven’t been to any of these gatherings with a Wayne here…I’ve heard my folks call the Waynes…family. More than me I suppose. Had none of my folks stick up for me, show pride in me, or give me…chances. Yet you, yourself can be a Wayne and be showered with praise. I know the reason…because…y-y-y-your family can put some more money in my family’s pockets.
Think? What can I think that I was ever able to say to papa?
A man with flippers and a billionaire playboy is an odd couple.
