Project Overview

"For over a millennium, the Argentian Empire’s system of the transfer of power was held via a competition between the crown princesses of the current empress in terms of a combination of their martial, intellectual, and social/political skills. The one that had the best mix of said traits would gain the title of Empress. Such a system always assured since the days of Catalina di Argentius that the most fit leader was always on the throne. However, recently groups have been rumored to be attempting to exploit the system. This tale follows Lionel and Ronan Barclavas, caught in the middle of the ambitions of one of these rumored groups, as they journey to exile themselves for the moment as far away from the Empire as possible to escape the growing corruption in the system. Little did they know that they were cogs in a rather massive and complex web that would put in motion  a flurry of events in their quest to flee…"


Hello, and thank you for your interest in this project! Argentum Aria is a fantasy genre audio drama that I have been working on, and am planning to release 3 episodes in an episodic fashion on my YouTube channel. Some of the characters from the cast have to be recast, and thus, I am opening an emergency casting call to fill in these openings! As a disclaimer, I will do my utmost to provide a fair and just compensation to the auditioning talent, and I am prepared to negotiate a fair and just rate for your services.


Audition Instructions


1. For each role, max 2 takes per line


2. Be sure to have a few seconds of silence per take, no need to slate 


3. Clean the audio as best you can; I want to be sure that the audition audio you provide is the best quality that is provided from your recording setup + post recording edits, as audio quality is important for the audio drama; ideally looking for XLR microphone setups just to let you know.

    Hello everyone! Thank you so far for the entries posted so far. I sincerely apologize, as I just realized the gender for Corvina was incorrect when I checked it. I corrected it to Female that it originally showed on the audition sheet I transferred the info for. Once again, I apologize for the error, and best of luck to all auditioning!

Profile: Early 40s, the current empress from the Argentius dynasty of the Argentian Empire. The empress is an extremely commanding figure; standing at 6 feet 2 inches tall, she towers over the majority of people under her command. She is a strict leader, though not cold-hearted. She is an individual that exercises a lot of tough love, not one to sugar-coat issues or complaints. Despite this, she isn’t afraid to spoil the ones she loves from time to time with affection, making sure that all her children feel the warmth of their mother. She isn’t afraid to fight them either; on many occasions, she personally leads sparring lessons with all her present children at the palace, being sure that despite their differences, they have the strength and determination that is expected of the princesses in line to compete to become the next empress.


Personality: Empress Caterina , while strict, is a very caring and compassionate mother. She raises her children with tough love, but she isn’t opposed to spoiling them every now and then with affection. She isn’t one to let people sly away from their duties, and makes sure that those that try to overstep their boundaries know the possible consequences for trying to do so.


Director’s Notes: Empress Caterina’s vocal register I am envisioning to be on the lower end for female voices; she depicts an air of royalty, and carries herself with much poise, as if she is presenting herself as the example imperial monarch to take notes from. She is very collected, even when she starts getting angry, and only really lets loose if someone is purposely trying to cross her or harm the people she loves.

  • [During an imperial parliament summons, one of the representatives in the parliament is suggesting to the empress to try and raise taxes for his region to help expand the infrastructure of the region. She supports the decision, only so long as the booming industries carry the brunt of the taxes. He tries to negotiate in favor of not having the industries pay a hefty sum of the taxes, but the empress senses his attempts at deceiving her and calls him out for it rather bluntly.]

    Line: Representative Gormes, please don’t tell me that you are forgetting your place… I find it upsetting that you are trying to take advantage of half the reason you are sitting in that chair right now.  Or do you believe it was the industries themselves that put you into power?

  • [During the same imperial parliament summons, the empress tells one of her representatives that her youngest daughter, Mercedes, will lead a relief effort to provide aid to their region, which has been affected by less than ideal yields from their crops. Mercedes excitedly confirms this statement, then gets a little over ambitious as to how much aid she will provide. The empress, for a moment, breaks her more stoic character and explains to Mercedes in a stern, but sympathetic tone that there is an order to things, and that first she needs to be sure that their essential needs are met first and foremost.]

    Line: Patience, Mercedes. Food is of the utmost priority for the Parmese people. Please, aid them with food first, then hear their requests and tend to them in order of importance. Though our empire is mighty, it is difficult to tend to every single request from the populus effectively. Do you understand, my dear?

    Director's Note: Parmese is prounced: Par-mees. Last "e" is silent.

  • [The empress and the members of the imperial parliament receive news that the man who conspired in the assassination of Lucia di Argentius has been reported fleeing to the elven kingdom of Myrvindel. The eldest crown princess, Helena, snaps and demands the empress move her from leading peace talks to leading the team investigating the assassination. The empress was not appreciating the tone of how she was asking for this request, and for the first time in the summons that day, raises her voice and uses her authority to snap some sense into Helena, and defuse her rage before it gets out of hand.]

    Line: Helena. Di. Argentius. You will watch your tone with me, not only as your mother, but as your superior in the chain of command. Or would you prefer to be put on forced leave and have me break the news to our “Giant. Goddamn. Infant”?

Profile: Female, Unknown age, but early 30s in appearance. They are one of the 7 Wyverns of a dark organization, known as the Durmolta’s Talons. The 7 Wyverns serve their one grandmaster, the Drake, and command their direct subordinates, the Wyrms. This particular Wyvern is the boss of Petrine the Sanguine Reaper, a very dangerous assassin of Durmolta’s Talons ranked as a Wyrm that will plague the trio of main characters in the beginning of Argentum Aria. 



Personality: Corvina is a calm and rational individual. However, they put no importance on the value of life, and would not hesitate to build a mountain of corpses to fulfill the goals of Durmolta’s Talons and their grandmaster. When speaking, they sound a bit detached, as if the mortal struggles of everyday life and the atrocities done by them and their subordinates doesn’t stimulate them much, though anything that proves extremely instrumental to their grandmaster’s plans or the expansion of influence of their organization will get them a little excited.


Director’s Note: The particular voice range for Petrine I am envisioning is reminiscent of a sultry tone, but is absent on the emotion of an example of the sultry tone, leaning more towards something calm and tactical in nature. However, to add, not robotic, and with a sinister undertone to Corvina’s rationality.

  • [Their subordinate, Petrine, contacts them for her routine briefing. Knowing what she has been doing for the past few days thanks to her previous report, they ask her about the update of the individuals she is trailing]

    Line: Petrine, what is the update on the targets?

  • [Petrine informs them of the status of the victims and asks if it is time to brutally murder them yet. Corvina shuts that suggestion down calmly, stating to instead tail them and occasionally cause chaos to further add dirt to the main characters’ current reputation]

    Line: Not just yet. Continue to tail them as discreetly as possible, as well as updating me on their location. When the time is right, stir some chaos to add more fuel to their bad image. With enough time, everyone would be happy to sell them out to the Argentian Empire.

  • [Petrine remarks to her boss to not let her wait long, as she’d hate to raze a hamlet or two while waiting for the order to continue causing blind chaos and carnage. Her boss scoffs in amusement, stating that she could do as she pleases, as they don’t care about sounding interested about the merciless carnage Petrine is planning to unleash.]

    Line: (scoffs) Do as you will, Sanguine Reaper. I'm sure you can come up with something… interesting.
