Armageddon: Black Dawn [Audiodrama] Chapter 17 + Sound Engineer
Project Overview
Payment is PER CHAPTER/EPISODE.
Armageddon is a novel published by Writer/Illustrator/Game Designer Terry Tibke, first released in 2009. Episodes/Chapters 1-4 are available on YouTube now as a visual audiodrama. However, after a failed Kickstarter to fund the visual elements for future chapters, the podcast has continued with bi-weekly episodic releases (Chapter 13 has been completed by the closing of this casting).
Follow any of the links here, from Audible to YouTube, to check out what we've done for the first 11 chapters!
I tend to open auditions in smaller waves--tracking with batches of a few chapters at a time, as characters are introduced throughout the book but aren't needed for the whole project. This in fact, the fourth wave of auditions for a few supporting cast. Also, as work has gone on, my time directing and managing everything along with other projects in my life, have driven me to at least look for a sound editor to work on the project in my stead.

Just want to let everyone know that we're going to cast Gewurmarch Rottbone upon the listed completion date of 4/22, but will be extending for the other roles (included another role or two) as they won't be needed until we get closer to their chapter appearance. We appreciate all the great stuff everyone has delivered!
I began this project with the minimal schooling I had for audio editing that I picked up in animation school. Over the last 7 months I've picked up quite a bit. But now I'm looking to hand that off to someone who can do AT LEAST as good of job as I have, but preferably better. I want to take the quality up to the next level. (Listen to some of the more recent chapters in the links above for examples) This role will include adding and mixing music from the available themes and library, adding foley and effects, and checking volume levels against headphone, pc, phone, and car audio (I can still help with this). You must be available on Discord regularly, and be a reliable communicator. The bi-weekly schedule can be tough, so please have the time to commit.
Payment is PER CHAPTER (which go between 25-40 minutes).
Say something you think would fit
This is THE big bad of Armageddon: Black Dawn. His voice is deep, dark, and evil. He's of a genius-level intellect, and a powerful magic user, and uses ridiculous levels of vocabulary to make others feel inferior (as you can tell from the lines above). General Obsidianfist already has a pretty deep and gritty voice (listen to episode 6). But Gewurmarch Rottbone is even grittier and darker. Give me your worst.
Gewurmarch Rottbone appears in a handful of chapters in the latter part of the book, but he is very wordy when he does have lines.
PER Project Payment means PER Chapter (again, we have a bi-weekly release schedule)
Gewurmarch Rottbone silently waited a short moment, his shadow cast over General Obsidianfist. “Stand Panthis. I care little more for any elucidation on the preparations you’ve made here in this place of uncouth folk. I see that you’ve done as I request. That is the only imperative for your part.”
“The weather seems to acquiesce to your desires.” The Gewurmarch’s eyes narrowed on him, seeming to gaze through any deception.
“Be at ease, General,” continued Gewurmarch Rottbone. “The strong survive those trials that have been set against them, while it is the weak who are culled. You are again proven to be among the former.”
Goofy little, creepy, angry goblins. Flerk, Scrabitz, and several other extras for goblins that attack alongside the evil Dragon Army. I'm open to various things, but they're written as weasley little cockney gobbos. They have just a few lines combined throughout the last few chapters of the book.
Then Flerk spoke up again. “Cap’n Scrabitz sent ‘iz boyz out norf. He said ta’ followz ‘im. That he wuz gonna’ send a few boyz eas’ and wes’, but mos’ly norf. Da’ fightin’s fresh. Dey’ jes’ left mebbe’…” He stopped and exchanged glances with the goblin next to him.
“Aye! Jes’ kill yer own!” replied Scrabitz.
“Captain Scrabitz!” shouted another goblin. “Are ya’ aw’right?”
Ninja Master Ryuki Purplefist has recently faced a pretty bad tragedy, putting her in a position to rule her ninja clan without really wanting to do so. She has a higher ranged cute anime girl type voice. She arrives in Chapter 21 and is in several chapters after that in the latter part of the book.
Per Project is a PER CHAPTER payment (about 3 or 4 chapters total)
She smiled and returned a bow, then walked to Meineken’s side, putting her long arms around his neck, embracing him. “I am happy you are well, Master Shadowstar. We worried for you in your absence." She paused. "The others are speaking of your arrival in the flying machine. I’m curious. Will you tell us everything that’s happened to you?”
Where darkness dwells and evil swells,
A shadow shall prevail.
In deep of land or deep of hall,
A shadow shall not fall. [recited alongside the other ninja masters]
Ryuki leaned forward and took a sip of her tea. “Then tell us what we can do.”
Hiryoto is the skeptical, pain in the ass, of the Black Talon's ninja masters. He doesn't particularly deal well with Meineken's lack of fear, and recklessness. He gets angry. But he also wants to do what's right for his city. Pick any anime ninja dude you feel his pic inspires, and go with it. I'm not fully set on any in particular.
“And if the masters had heeded my warning, your entourage would still be alive and home as well,” came a voice from the doorway. The voice was that of Master Dragonfright. [Upset when he first sees Meineken return after he warned him not to go somewhere]
Where darkness dwells and evil swells,
A shadow shall prevail.
In deep of land or deep of hall,
A shadow shall not fall.
[This is read in unison with Meineken and Ryuki--a recitation of the "oath"]
