Project Overview
Welcome to the Arcane Abridged Project!
This project has the purpose of parodying the Arcane TV series, which released in November 2021 on Netflix. An abridged series is a fanmade project where a movie or TV show is shortened, edited and fandubbed for comedic reasons. In this case, we expect to dub Act 1 for now, however, if the project is successful, we will also cover Act 2 and 3. Be aware that this series will contain spoilers for the original show, so I highly recommend you watch Arcane, it is fantastic.
Requirements:
- Be 18+ in order to audition for this project.
- Have a microphone of good quality in case you're auditioning as a VA.
- Include the software you have used for your audition.
- Understand that this is a passion project, so there will be no payment whatsoever.
- With the purpose of allowing more people to participate in this project, there is a limit of one character per VA.
- Include your Discord in your audition so I can contact you.
Notes:
- A Discord server for this project is currently being made.
- This is my first time directing a project like this, I will appreciate any constructive criticism and advice. I promise to make my best effort in order for this project to have good results.
Updates (12/21/22):
- The deadline has been moved from December 31th 2022 to January 10th 2023.
- I am currently working on a rough draft of the script for Act 1. It will be revised and corrected the moment all of the writers gather.
- Additionally, I will be the voice of Grayson (Act 1) and Sevika (Act 2 and 3).

Violet, mostly known as Vi, is a young fighter from the city of Zaun, the older sister of Powder and the adoptive daughter of Vander. Characterised by her hot-headed and brash personality, she never holds back during a fight. Vi, however, also treasures those close to her, and is very protective of them.
If you consider auditioning for this role, note the following:
- It is not necessary to perfectly imitate Hailee Steinfield’s voice. It is enough if your voice sounds similar and portrays her emotions accordingly.
The first line portrays anger, the second curiosity and flirtiness, and the third one passion and determination.
If you gain this role and this project is successful, you will stay for Act 2 and 3 as the voice of Vi.

Powder is the younger sister of Vi and the adoptive daughter of Vander. She lives in Zaun together with her siblings, and despite her attempts to prove she is brave and useful to the team, she often fails and is considered a “jinx” by Mylo. This causes her to become upset and disappointed in herself, but Vi is always there to lift her spirits.
If you consider auditioning for this role, note the following:
With the purpose of allowing more people to participate in this project, Powder and Jinx will have different voice actors.
The first line expresses determination after Powder has been crying, the second portrays happiness and the third line anguish and pain.

Why did you leave me?!
Mylo is the adoptive brother of Vi and Powder. He is a rather snarky teenager with a talent for lock-picking, and who has little patience for the problems Powder causes. They often argue because of this, and Mylo claims that “she jinxes every job”. Despite having a confident personality, he is also rather clumsy.
If you consider auditioning for this role, note the following:
Mylo’s first line expresses anger, while the second and third line express disappointment.

Animals...
Claggor is the adoptive brother of Vi and Powder. He is a teen characterised by his large build, and has great strength. Despite not being as irritated as Mylo against Powder, he is also disappointed when she messes up.
If you consider auditioning for this role, note the following:
It is not necessary to portray the rasp in his voice, but it would still be great if you could include that.
The first line portrays nervousness, the second one disappointment and the third one curiosity. Claggor says the second line while sighing.

Vander's gonna kill us...
Wait, how did you know where he lived?
Vander is the adoptive father of Vi, Powder, Mylo and Claggor. He owns “The Last Drop” bar in the city of Zaun, and is a caring man who claims that violence is never the answer. Vander treasures his loved ones to the extent of giving his own life with the purpose of protecting them, and scolds them when they put their life in danger.
If you consider auditioning for this role, note the following:
While it is not necessary to imitate his voice perfectly, remember to portray his maturity in your lines.
If possible, include a rather raspy tone in his voice due to being a smoker.
The first line is said honestly and directly to Vi. In the second line, he expresses anger yet worry. The third line is said before Vander dies, so express his concern for his children during his last moments.

Take care of Powder.
Deckard is a thug from Zaun who attempts to steal the treasure of the team, only to fail and later used as a lab rat by Silco. He makes an attempt to look tough, but is quite the coward.
If you consider auditioning for this role, note the following:
Try to sound tough during the first line, while in the second line, sound anxious, even gasping for air.
Deckard will not have much screen time before being injected with shimmer, afterwards he will only grunt and yell, so please provide those noises in the third line. You are allowed to edit your voice in a program for this one.

Ekko is a young boy who helps Benzo at the pawn shop. Despite his young age, he is talented and brave, and shows a great interest in mechanics. He is friends with the Zaun team, and is known as "Little Man".
If you consider auditioning for this role, note the following:
Please demonstrate a young, child-like voice for Ekko.
With the purpose of allowing more people to participate in this project, young Ekko and older Ekko will have different voice actors.
The first line expresses curiosity and enthusiasm, the second line smugness and the third line grief and anguish.

I saw everything. B-Benzo...
The owner of a pawn shop in Zaun and the parental figure of Ekko, Benzo is a busy man who is close to Vander. He has a serious personality, and Vander jokingly calls him the "shittiest business man" he knows.
If you consider auditioning for this role, note the following:
Just as Vander, please portray the maturity in his voice.
The first line expresses anger, the second one honesty and the third one betrayal.

Silco? You animal...
Marcus is an Enforcer from Piltover whose goal is to catch and arrest the individuals responsible for the explosion in the upper city. He gets angry easily, but is a very responsible man who loves his family.
If you consider auditioning for this role, note the following:
Marcus has a sharp and strict manner in his speaking, please portray so accordingly.
The first line expresses annoyance, the second one is neutral, while the third line expresses rage.

Some trencher trash attacked one of the buildings in the Academy district, but you already knew that.
First time I've been invited to the Lanes, it better be worth my time.
This wasn't the deal!
Silco is a crime boss from Zaun who loathes Vander due to an incident that occurred in the past. Vile and cold-hearted, Silco will not hesitate to use and betray others to gain what he wants.
If you consider auditioning for this role, note the following:
Portray the lack of empathy and heartless personality of Silco in his voice, don’t hold back!
If you gain this role and the project is successful, you will stay as Silco’s voice actor for Act 2 and 3.
The first line expresses anger and determination, while the second and third lines are said without any empathy and in a cold manner.

Caitlyn is a teenager from Piltover and friend of Jayce. Her mother is a councilor, and her dream is to be part of the Enforcers.
If you consider auditioning for this role, note the following:
Young Caitlyn will not have much screen time, but that should not discourage you from auditioning.
Remember during your audition that young Caitlyn has a high-pitched voice.
With the purpose of allowing more people to participate in this project, young Caitlyn and older Caitlyn will have different voice actors.
The first line portrays curiosity, while the second and third line are neutral.

Jayce Talis is a brilliant young man from Piltover, whose life's research has the objective of creating magic. He is part of the Academy, and is greatly respected for his effort and research. Jayce is rather self-centered and has great enthusiasm for his work.
If you consider auditioning for this role, note the following:
Jayce will maintain the same voice actor for Act 2 and 3 (if the project is successful).
During the series, Jayce will sometimes speak in Spanish. It is recommended that you are fluent in the language, or at least know how to say some sentences in Spanish.
Jayce says the first line loudly after having enough of the Council's pressure. The second line and third line express hope.

This is the city of progress, think of the wonders we could create.
For the era of Hextech.
Viktor is an inventor from Zaun and the assistant of Heimerdinger. He is a very clever man, but tends to get carried away with his work. Together with Jayce, they attempt to prove that Hextech can create wonders for the city of Piltover.
If you consider auditioning for this role, note the following:
It is necessary that you provide Viktor’s accent in his lines. It does not have to be perfect, but it has to be there.
All of his lines are said with determination and honesty.

Mel is one of Piltover's councilors and a brilliant politician. Despite not trusting Jayce at first, she later takes interest in his research. Mel is determined to see Piltover progress as a city, and will do anything to achieve it.
If you consider auditioning for this role, note the following:
- Maintain Mel's maturity in her lines.
- If you obtain this role, you will stay as the voice of Mel for Act 2 and 3 (if the project is successful).
- For the first and second line, your voice has to express hope. For the third line, express disappointment.

All I see is a boy meddling with things he doesn't understand.
Heimerdinger is the head of Piltover's council and a talented scientist. He is a respected figure in the upper city due to his achievements during its construction. However, he is hesitant to support Jayce's work, as he is aware of the danger that magic represents.
If you consider auditioning for this role, note the following:
- If you obtain this role and the project is successful, you will remain as Heimerdinger's voice actor for Act 2 and 3.
- The first line is said rather worriedly, as Heimerdinger knows that, due to his age, he has seen many loved ones die. The second and third line are said with hope and determination.

No great science should ever put lives in danger.
If you were a scientist, you'd know you can't make a prototype without breaking a few wrenches.
In case you do not feel like auditioning for the role of the main characters, you can be an extra voice actor. This includes voicing background characters or characters that have very few lines (for example, the minor councilors).

As the director of this project, I will also be in charge of editing the series, but I will need the help of other video editors to produce an even better result. If you have experience editing parody videos, this role is the one for you.

Despite having an idea of what the project will be, I will need support from other writers. This includes generating jokes, recurring gags, changes to the main storyline, etc. You do not have to be a comedian in order to gain this role, and remember to avoid including offensive and bigoted jokes.
In order to gain this role, I need you to send a writing sample that contains humorous and comedic moments.
