Plot: In the "Cloistered Sanctum" of Wyrmheart Valley, a nigh unreachable village of traders and craft-makers, is shaken up by the sudden presence of two strangers: bounty hunters. The bounty hunters claim that they have been tracking a dangerous and elusive criminal through the mountains and that the village and wilderness surrounding it are a likely hiding spot for the criminal. Their presence is unwanted and the valley's guardian's has his patience tested by the strangers and their apparent ineptitude.

Jiryu is temperamental. He has a lot of patience for the residents of Wyrmheart Valley and he cares for each of them as if they are family. He is especially loving and warm with his children and mate (wife). He is quick to anger when met with aggression, feisty, and stubborn to a fault. He is the guardian of the valley inhabitants who keeps away the outside world by force when necessary. While a devoted father and husband, he also feels endearment and affection for his closest friends. He is weary of newcomers and does not like trespassers because of his past experiences with letting in newcomers and the negative consequences that followed. Only his mate (wife) and children can calm him or sway his opinion on matters.
**He screams/shouts and is emotionally expressive throughout all works he is in. This will take a toll on your voice. Please be aware of that before auditioning.**
**He also moans and whimpers. If you are uncomfortable with that, and cannot handle the role and what is asked of you maturely, kindly pass this character. This is also not in an X-rated scene.**
Jiryu is a full-grown amethyst dragon; he is 7'2 (about 218 cm) and 365 lbs (about 166 kg) in his humanoid form. This is true in this work however, he may be depicted younger in other works.
For Jiryu, in this work, we are looking for a deep voice with no preference for other voice artifacts or features. Having a range to depict him younger as well is preferred.
The instant they seem like they’re not the morally upstanding bounty hunters they claim to be, they’re dead.
[comforting] It’s okay, Sev. We’ll find him.
[angrily] Do you really think I won’t defend my home? Which includes the valley?
Teika is the human mate of Jiryu, the guardian of the valley. She is a nonchalant mage. She is generally calm and compassionate with others. She dotes upon her children and Severin. She is a cartographer who specializes in measurements and converting sketches into maps that others can read and follow. She is easily caught up in her task at hand and can embody the trope of genius ditz. She is reasonable, understanding and accommodating. She is supportive and loving as well as compassionate. She often keeps Jiryu and his temper in check. He and she occasionally trade barbs.
She originally found the valley by mistake. She is petite and soft spoken.
**In other works, she may test your vocal cords by screaming and being emotionally expressive. That is not present in this work, but retaining the role may require it.**
We are open to any voice type for Teika.
What my beloved is trying to say is that he is this valley’s protector. To you it may be wilderness. But, it has been his family’s home for many generations.
Oh, he and I hated one another. And he treated me with the same aggressive xenophobia that he treats all others with.
[slowly, with concern] What if there is a criminal here?
She is a full-grown jade dragon. She is a bounty hunter who specializes in dangerous criminal apprehension. She works with Declan on each bounty she pursues. She is a tracker and uses her assets to help find criminals who try hiding in the wilderness to evade capture. She is analytical and logical, but she also happily uses her size for brute force and to transport Declan and any allies or targets she captures. She prefers living in the wilderness to living in civilization. She is often calm and levelheaded, but she butts heads with others who are stubborn. Lavina is only talkative with Declan who she is most comfortable with.
For Lavina we are open to all voice types.
But, the other inhabitants stay here, even knowing who their protector is. How pleasant can they be, even comparatively?
[delivered slowly] It looks like maybe one of us could comfortably stay here. But, I suppose that this sort of place is comfortable when it is one’s only choice…[trail off]
[confused] Um...what...happened?
Declan is a bounty hunter. He specializes in tracking the missing and elusive criminals. He is logical, analytical and straightforward. He is oftentimes distant and aloof emotionally, even with those who are familiar with him. He sometimes is caught up in his thought processes. He works almost exclusively with Lavina.
Despite his scholarly nature, he has training with survival, living off the land and needing very few supplies. He travels often and prefers the wilderness or basic inns and taverns to homes. He avoids extravagance and enjoys tracking and capturing bandits. He is well-read, but still down-to-earth.
For Declan we are looking for somebody with a medium to high voice.
Based on how they act with one another, I am forced to assume that at some point, the two of you, ahem, reconciled your differences?
That does seem peculiar, given your lover’s ever-so-pleasant demeanor.
[sarcasm] Of course. We would never dare to bother you unless we had good reason.
Joffi is a wanted criminal. His capture for the crimes of murder, robbery, burglary, piracy, forgery & eluding prosecution leave whomever can capture him and turn him into the proper authorities a wealthy person. He is difficult to pin down and catch and is incredibly resourceful and shrewd. He is a tracker himself, making him all the more difficult to pursue. He is dangerous and known to murder whomever he needs to for self-preservation.
Joffi was raised by a wayward faction of the thieves' guild. Instead of enforcing the code he was taught self-preservation and to get his own first. He has contacts in the criminal world of varying degrees of trust and closeness to him. He has eluded bounty hunters countless times before via his contacts, his forgery abilities and his abilities to disappear into the wilderness for months and years at a time.

Damnedable bounty hunters…
Brennus is an orc born on the outskirts of Wyrmheart village. He is quiet, kind and compassionate. Despite his intimidating appearance he is always warm and gentle. He and his wife are supportive and welcoming of visitors, despite the valley's bad luck with outsiders.
For Brennus we are looking for somebody with a medium to low voice.
I see. So you are not concerned with these bounty hunters and their presence?
They are old enough to care for themselves in many instances, now.
Of course, and I do not fault you for that.
Yuusha is half dragon, half swamp elf. She was born in the valley and she grew up with Jiryu and his parents acting as the valley's protectors. She is warm, gentle, kind and caring. She is welcoming to all unless given a reason to feel otherwise. She is protective of others but genuinely sweet. She and her husband often host the few visitors to the valley.
For Yuusha we are open to any voice type.
If they knew there was a dragon like Jiryu here, I doubt we’d get as many wanderers here as we do.
But, I feel the need to watch our children anyhow.
Oh, nothing is going to happen to our young ones. I am not at all worried about that.
Tanjiro is one of the two children born to Jiryu and Teika. He is the eldest by two years and is about 8 years old.
He is adventurous and looks up to his father; he wants to be a hero who protects others in the same way. He is fearless and often willingly puts himself into dangerous situations to prove his bravery. He enjoys sweets and spending time with his siblings.
He is very excitable and can be cunning and resourceful.
Right. Mommy and daddy would never know we ate lots of cake and candy.
Yeah! All the best stuff!
[trying to sound authoritative] Yeah! Don’t let anything bad happen to anybody!
Miyu is one of the two children born to Jiryu and Teika. She is their youngest child.
She wants to continue her father's legacy as the protector of the valley and she goes out of her way to do so. She is close to Tanjiro and she enjoys spending time with her siblings. She is talkative and observational. She is chipper and eager.
She is close to both of her parents and she is often torn between doing what her parents want and trying to prove herself worthy of her father's family's name.
[excitedly] We get to go be dragons with daddy!
A stranger in the valley. We left him protecting Marte in our absence.
No, of course not!
Severin was born to Jiryu and his first chosen mate. He has adjusted to living in the valley instead of the transient lifestyle he had before this. He is repenting for what his mother did and has done his best at doing so by living up to his father's legacy. He is quiet, often going along with what others want.
He is protective of his younger half siblings, having a strong attachment to them that he has developed over the past few years. He defers to what his father wants in an attempt to show respect and his ability to live up to his family's title as protector. He otherwise is quiet, kind and gentle. He is mostly introverted and easily embarrassed.
For Severin we are open to any voice type.
Miyu? Tanjiro? Can you two do something for me?
You do need to watch yourselves, however. Teika and father would not appreciate if you were full of sweets when dinner time comes.
[serious] Not that. I will buy whatever cakes you want, but I need you two to go get father.
Marte is an aetherial. She and her family have lived in Wyrmheart Valley for several generations. They often show their gratitude to Jiryu and his family with gifts. She is warm, gentle and sweet. She adores children and enjoys socializing with others. She works in her family's shop and on the occasions they leave the valley, she travels with them. She is warm and conversational with others and she is difficult to unnerve.
For Marte we are open to all voice types.
