Nearly Done
Apologies to everyone who is waiting. Auditions is taking me a lot longer than I anticipated, but we're slowly getting there. We should be done in the next week or so.
This is a continuation of an already-in-progress project.
Project OverviewAngels is a story that I’ve been working on and off for a few years. Only recently have I been allowed to work on this story full-time. As part of this agreed opportunity, I was tasked with the creation of a full realized manuscript that will be published in the near future of which I have already completed. In addition, I have also agreed to create other accompanying types of media alongside the manuscript. This project is one of those accompanying media types and is a continuation of the same project that has been a year in the making and will (hopefully) cover a select few chapters of the 20 chapter manuscript.
Angels follows two people born into a dead world. A world filled with a deadly mist that renders living outside nearly impossible without a mask. However, despite the harsh living conditions, the people living in this world try to live normal lives. Going to work, having friendships, finding romance, and spending their days trying to make their dreary living conditions livable. However, that's until people start to see strange lights in the sky and report seeing beings made of light in the fog. Our two protagonists start to seemingly hear people's thoughts, see their emotions, and discover strange abilities that they have.
Through a series of strange events that occur, our two protagonists soon find that they may not be as normal as they thought they were thanks to an inherent trait that may have had something to do with the death of the world.
This project is intended for YOUNG ADULT to ADULT readers and does contain cursing with some tragic scenes.

Apologies to everyone who is waiting. Auditions is taking me a lot longer than I anticipated, but we're slowly getting there. We should be done in the next week or so.
This is genuinely hard. I am having a hard time picking only one out of the incredible auditions the project has received! Now, don't fret, I'm still in the process of listening through all of the auditions, so a few of you expect to hear from me in your DM's on here or if worse comes to worse, I'll be contacting you on Discord.
Thank you to everyone who has auditioned for this project! I am sincerely grateful to everyone.
At long last, we have reached the deadline for the auditions to the project!
I want to thank everyone who has submitted their talents to the project. Everyone who has auditioned has exceeded my expectations and has, genuinely, made me smile knowing that people are excited for this story. I will be going through each and every audition throughout the next couple days and will contact those who I believe would be best for the characters.
If you don't hear from me over the next week or so, please don't be discouraged. Every single one of you has made me smile and, as I said, have demonstrated your incredible talents.
Again, I want to sincerely thank all those who have auditioned for my project and I hope you all have a wonderful day!
(Cool and laid back. Surfer dude vibes. But, changes to be more serious and mature.)
Will require a callback audition.
Eddie Light is the friend and co-worker of one of the main protagonists of the story. He is a chill dude who likes to say 'man' a lot and tries to make the best of the dreary world by hanging out with his friend, watching movies, and just general chilling. His wife, Claire Light, is pregnant with their first child, and it's causing an inner turmoil for him. He doesn't know if he's ready for fatherhood and looks to his friend for help most of the time.
As the story goes on and fatherhood catches him in its grasp, his worldview changes. Now that he has a child, he tries to adopt a more fatherly vibe and is forced to mature. The world isn't meant for people to live, so he tries his best to keep her alive. No matter the cost. Even at the cost of someone else's life, he will keep her alive.
Eddie is a central character who appears periodically throughout the entire story and is the only character to show up in both of the protagonists' stories. Will be demanding creatively and in practice.
He has just over 3 200 words of spoken dialogue.
Look man, um…I know what happened recently and, you know, I’m sorry for you. I really am. But, being with someone does help. Or, even if you just need a friend, man, I’m also here. (Trying to be comforting)
The whole place is going crazy, man! Those lights are making everyone go nuts out there! The powerhouse was the only place I could think of going. (Terrified)
Hey! Look, I don’t know what’s going on with you. But, don’t take it out on us. You think I want this for her? Not a day goes by where I’m not scared of her not waking up. I’m scared shitless. But I’m trying my best for her. (Angry)
(Strong and brave, yet playful and is secretly very vulnerable)
Will require a callback audition.
Marissa Valentine is the unofficial leader of the longest-serving scavenger group in the community she lives in. A mall called Eden that has been repurposed into a haven from the deadly fog that plagues the outside world. Being a scavenger, otherwise called a Hunter, in Eden is considered to be the deadliest job due to the dangers that hunters face in the dead city. Bandits that wander the city, the risk of suffocating from the fog, and the dangers of wandering through a fragile, destroyed city are just some of the dangers that a hunter faces daily. However, they're essential as they bring in life-saving supplies that keep Eden running.
Marissa has demonstrated her ability to lead many scavengers through her fearlessness, tenacity, and curiosity. She has been a hunter for many years along with her younger brother, whom she loves more than anything, despite being constantly annoyed by him. However, this is only a front she puts up. She has lost so many people over the years that their faces still linger in her mind. When alone, she is still a little girl who enjoys drawing anime, reading comic books, and has a secret collection of stuffies that she found while wandering the city. But, in front of her brother and the other scavengers she leads, she is fearless and fair. That is, until another scavenger joined her and her brother that reminds her of someone she had grown incredibly close to.
Eden doesn't teach their residents about love, so in terms of how the body works, she doesn't know too much, which is why she doesn't know why she likes this new person so much.
This role is a demanding one, both creatively and in practice, as Marissa becomes a central character in acts 2 and 3. Showing up periodically from Chapter 7 to 17.
She has just over 3 100 words of spoken dialogue.
Hey, you don’t hear me complaining about your damn snoring. It’s a miracle I even got to sleep that day. Men. Can't live with them. Can't shoot them. (Bantering with brother)
Well, that was Grace. At least to me. JJ was never one to attach himself to anyone other than me. Which makes you different since he seems to like you. Special, even. To both of us…to me. (Realizing you love this person)
Hey, listen to my voice. Come on, look at me, you have to keep your eyes open. Come on, don’t leave us. I can’t lose another one. Not you…not you… (Person might die in your arms)
(Soft-spoken, gentle, yet playful and an attractive voice)
Will require a callback audition
Janus Valentine, also known as JJ, is a member of the longest-serving scavenger group, otherwise called Hunters, in the mall-turned community called Eden. A haven in the deadly, fog-covered world, JJ is one of the central figures in Eden despite his young age. Hunters are an essential part of keeping Eden running and safe for its residents, as they bring in supplies that Eden can't produce itself. Exotic foods, ingredients, medicine, and parts to keep essential machines running are just some of the things that a Hunter brings in. However, it's considered to be the most dangerous job as the city is filled with bandits, crumbling buildings, and the danger of the fog itself makes it so that a Hunter isn't expected to serve very long.
Along with his sister, JJ has proven himself to be incredibly brave in facing the dangers of the fog and has the strength to prove it. His large size causes a lot of new Hunters to be wary of him, which is why he adopted a soft-spoken, caring attitude in contrast to his sister. Whom he looks up to and loves to banter with. He's not as outgoing and mainly hangs around with his sister; that is, until a new Hunter joins their group, which makes him feel something he's never felt before. The need to care for them and to see them smile.
Eden doesn't teach its residents too much about love, which is why he doesn't know why he's feeling the way he is toward this new Hunter.
JJ becomes a central character in acts 2 and 3, from chapter 7 to 16, and will show up periodically alongside one of the main protagonists. Will be demanding creatively and in practice.
He has just over 1 000 words of dialogue.
Well, that's just what sis and I call them since they're usually covered in dried scabs from living outside. They're one of the reasons why it's so dangerous to go outside. Others call them killers, robbers…assholes. (Trying to appear nonthreatening and alleviating fear. )
Yeah, cause of course you were sleeping. Drooling all over MY PILLOW no less. It's a miracle I have a pillow to sleep on after you nearly ruined it. (Bantering with sister)
Oh, Doctor! Sorry, I was just helping her with- I-it's not what it looks like. I was j-just-ummm...come on, help me! (Embarrassed and scared)
(Menacing and creepy yet kind and kingly)
Only known as Mr. Luca, he is the boss of a central character who gives off an otherworldly vibe to those who meet him. Speaking in an accent that is completely foreign to everyone whom the protagonists have come to know, he is suspected of having come from someplace beyond the reach of the fog. He prefers to call everyone by their last name in his posh way of speaking.
However, as the story goes on, Mr. Luca demonstrates that he has a goal that goes beyond the understanding of the characters in the story. He is after the protagonists for an unknown reason and will do everything in his power to get as much information as he can out of them before eliminating them. Even if it means stepping on others to achieve his goal, he will succeed.
At times, others spot him in a form that one could only describe as monstrous. In addition with his odd way of speaking, some question whether Mr. Luca is entirely human.
Appears periodically throughout the story.
Has just over 2 200 words of dialogue.
Be not afraid. Please, indulge my curiosity. Do you believe in the story of your spouse falling from the sky? Do you believe the stories that he is some sort of divine being? (Menacing)
Well, let me tell you something that I’ve learned from my time here. Most often than not, people tend to see fiction as truth. While in reality, the things that people believe in tend to be the result of an overactive mind or hallucinations from the fog. (Fake and forced elegance)
No. No, no, no, no. I’m very disappointed in you. You’ve been caught and yet you still continue to lie. How would your mother feel seeing her only son lie to a woman that loves him? (Caught someone in a lie and is smug)
(Kind of annoying dude bro. Cowardly yet kind)
Cole is a 'pharmacist' who works in the storage area repurposed as a pharmacy in the mall turned community called Eden. He likes one of the main protagonists and doesn't keep it a secret that he likes her. Even to the point of being annoying by not being able to take hints that she doesn't like him as much as he likes her. Yet, he demonstrates that he is more than just a loudmouth who sometimes forgets to check his wording when talking. He is caring, scared of the world, and holds the people he loves close to his heart. Something that makes him become one of the central focuses for our protagonist.
Has a relatively small role and has lines only in chapters 2 and 4, with non-speaking appearances later on.
Hm. Still having trouble talking, huh? I hear you’ve been working at the hospital. I guess even with all their fancy gadgets over there, they can’t really treat mutism. (Not meaning to be condescending but comes off as condescending)
I was hoping if you’d like to meet up after work? Maybe…have some food together or something? I-I know you have trouble talking, and I want to help with that. So, I was thinking that maybe having a one-on-one with someone might be easier? (Asking someone out)
Are you going to be okay? We can just do this another night if you want. I…I don’t think I can handle…I don’t know if I’d be the best company right now. (Scared)
(Jersey Girl, Loud, Outspoken)
Claire Light is the pregnant wife of Eddie Light. She is among the many pregnant women in the haven where she lives with her husband and friends. She is a woman who loves her husband and loves to give people nicknames. Especially Eddie who she calls 'Doll'. Loves to gossip and her friends' love lives, especially one of the protogonist, is her entertainment.
Claire appears only once in this entry near the end of Chapter 6. Other appearances are only mentions.
Oh, of all the times. The little one is certainly choosing the worst time to arrive. (In labour)
My love? Baby? Are you two a thing finally? Doll, you never told me that! (Tired but surprised)
(Fatherly, playful, yet guilt-ridden)
The mysterious father who lives in the memories and dreams of one of the protagonists. He was lost prior to the start of the story in a way that makes the protagonist question whether it actually happened the way she remembered it. Taking from her by a light from that sky that sucked him into the clouds was the last memory she had of him. However, despite his disappearance, she still sees him in her dreams and speaks to him. And, strangely enough, he talks back to her and tells her things that make her question who he really is.
She finds that the man whom she called father may not be the person she thought he was.
Shows up very briefly periodically throughout the story as a disembodied voice. However, has a major appearance in Chapter 9.
You traitor. And to think, all I ever do is love you and try to keep you safe and you go and stab me in the back. Why do I have a daughter that hates me so much? (Playfully talking to daughter who is about 12 years old)
It's alright, my darling, it's alright. You don't have to worry ever again. I'm here. I'm here and I'm not going to leave you again. (Loving father)
The one in Orion wasn't…it wasn't the same one. I saw them. I know what they look like. Honey…my darling…the lights…I'm responsible. (Guilt ridden)
(Sultry, attractive, romantic, yet fierce when needed)
The mysterious memory that lives in the minds of the protagonists. The central figure in the dreams of the characters, she is remembered as incredibly beautiful and the source of happiness in the past. However, she still remains an enigma to all characters and to us as viewers as to who she actually was.
Appears periodically throughout the story as a disembodied voice. Only phrases and short sentences.
Oh, I dunno. Having a robot is a BIG responsibility. You'd probably have to feed them nuts and bolts and clean up their oil and everything. (Talking to a 4-6 year old child)
(Laugh at a funny joke)
What the hell are you talking about? Fuck you. (Caught by enemy and held at gunpoint)
(Old, frail, smoker, yet dreamy)
The oldest resident of the mall turned community called Eden. Is known as the only living person to have been born before the fog showed up and knows what the world was like before its death. However, the fog has taken its toll on her health, and now she lives on oxygen tanks. In her dreams, she still sees the blue sky, her cat, and her daughter.
Appears as a talking character only once in Chapter 2, with mentions throughout the story.
Oh yes, sorry. I must have lost my train of thought. Old age, you know how it is. (Making fun of yourself)
Oh, she must have run off. She must be hungry. Honey, do you think you could feed Kitty for me, please? (Grandmotherly)
(Terrified scream)
(Various voices from young to adult)
Various characters that our protagonists encounter that provide liveliness to the world, deliver exposition, or serve as simple background filler sound.
Sure you doctors have been busy over there taking care of all those poor idjuts, huh? I gotta say, I dun understand why people even bother to try to go outside. It’s just plain foolish if you ask me. (Making small talk)
Hey! What’s going on- Worshippers! They're up here! (Found an enemy in a combat situation)
Honey...y-you animal... (You just saw someone you love die and you're staring at the killer)
(Various voices from young to adult)
Various characters that our protagonists encounter that provide liveliness to the world, deliver exposition, or serve as simple background filler sound.
Pretty name...tell your friend you're fine, darling. (Menacing and evil)
Shut up! Don’t you dare talk about them, you piece of shit! (Anger)
Doctor, we have an emergency! Casualties from the other scavenger group. One wounded and two flat lining! (Intense)
