Joyce is the female lead non-player character. She is around 25 years old. She is a girlfriend of the protagonist and regularly speaks with him on the phone during her trips. She lives next door. At the beginning of the story she invites him over to celebrate Christmas together. Joyce is a cheerful, confident and proactive woman. She likes the main character, but she worries about him. She thinks that he is too closed. During the game, Joyce will undergo a lot of stress, and her relationship with the main character will be tested — in the finale, she will decide whether she will stay with him or leave.

  • (In this scene Joyce is flirting with the main character — her boyfriend. She calls him after a long trip. She is happy that they will meet soon.)

Hi, handsome! What’ve you been up to while your better half wasn't around?

  • (Joyce calls the main character. He hears some rustles and other sounds on the phone. Joyce is in a state of panic: she sees some scary and weird woman in her house. Joyce tries to run away from her, then launches fireworks in her face. At the end she tries to catch her breath when this woman suddenly disappears.)

(Joyce calls the player while she is running. She is in panic) Mark! She's here! (Joyce shouts to the witch) No! Don't touch me, bitch! (pause... heavy breathing. Joyce tries to catch her breath. She is stunned that woman disappeared into thin air) She... she's gone.

  • (Joyce is suspicious. She doesn't believe excuses of the player. This strange thing couldn't just haunt people at random.)

Something isn’t right. I don't know her, I've never seen her before. Why would she follow me? You, on the other hand... (pause) Mark, do you know this woman?

The Witch is the main antagonist of the game. Her name is unknown to the player, we just use name “the witch” in this text for convenience. She is a woman of 30 years old with strange supernatural powers. She looks like she is possessed by a demon. She can change reality around her and move objects at a distance. In her past (when she was more or less normal) she dated the main character, but he left her due to her increasingly obsessive and erratic behavior. Now she became completely mad and turned into a stalker. She tracked down the main character when he moved to another city so she could bring him back. She occupied the house next to Joyce and killed its owners. When the main character goes to his girlfriend, the witch will lead him astray by obscuring his vision with a snowfall. Then she will lure him into her house, which looks like Joyce's house. She is obsessed with the main character. She wants to kill Joyce and reunite with the main character — dead or alive.

  •  (The main character hides when he hears footsteps and sees a strange figure. The witch appears for the first time and looks around. She speaks creepily and softly.) Honey, are you there? (pause. Then player can hear her soft drawl) I can see you.

  • (The main character opens closed door and hides. The witch runs to the noise. She screams and hisses in anger): I know you're here. Be a man and show yourself!

  • (The witch screams in anger. It must be terrifying. It will be used in screamers and scary moments.)
