Samus Aran is an intergalactic bounty hunter and the main protagonist of the Metroid series. Her parents were killed by a space pirate known as Ridley. When Samus became a warrior, she sought vengeance for the death of her parents, while simultaneously saving the galaxy from the Metroid, an extremely dangerous alien species.
