Zelda Sprite Comic Fandub
Project Overview
UPDATE! Samus Aran, Mario Panighetti, Jeff the Goomba, Hal the Koopa, Blooper, and Sheik have been added!
Way back in 2002, a man named Mario Panighetti made a webcomic using the sprites from the game Zelda II. He kept this running for nine long years before he stopped making comic strips in 2011. He finally declared the series dead in 2014. Having recently found out that the comic was dead, I felt a mixture of things: sadness, for the most part. I had grown to love the wild and wacky antics of Link, Navi, Pit and Bub and didn't want to see them leave just yet. Then it hit me. Fandub.
As far as I know, nobody has done a fandub of this webcomic and I feel it's time for it to get the love and attention it deserves. All 310 pages of it. It may not be classy, but a webcomic is a webcomic, dammit!

Infamous bounty hunter that Ganondorf hires to kill Link and his friends. Doesn't have to sound like the actual voice actor but needs to be somewhere in her vocal range.
So, you want me to kill Link...? As in "Link?" As in the legendary Hero of Time? As in the guy who time and again saves the world from assorted evils? ...Alright. Just making sure. It's a bounty hunter thing. (She is asked to not point her gun) (flatly) No.
(Whilst trying to imitate Navi) Yessir. I am indeed your fairy companion. Nothing to be suspicious about. At all. (She is asked to not point her gun) (flatly in regular voice) No.
You want to know why I'm here? (sighs) Very well. Ganondorf sent me here to kill you. (beat) Oh, I'm still gonna kill you. It'll just be a lot messier now.
A bat that Link and friends encounter during their spelunking adventure. Becomes quite the foe to the ragtag band of heroes.
I'd like for him to sound like Alucard from TFS's Hellsing Ultimate Abridged.
Well, well, what have we here? Looks like a couple of spelunkers who forgot their candles.
So now you see that only you can prevent cave-related incidents. I suppose we can let youoff with a warning... oh, there was one little thing. The great Ganon wants you guys at his place, dead or alive.
(Whilst trying to pick a name) Hmm.... Albert? Nah... Alfonso? No... Alucard? Maybe... I need something a little more awe-inspiring. Something provocative... bold... a name that could level a city block... yes! I have decided! I shall henceforth be called... CARL!
A small blob that Sheik (and later everyone else) encounters as he (they) travel through Parapa Desert. Not in the slightest bitmenacing. How not menacing is he? Bub's roar is enough to impress him.
Completely ridiculous sounding. Go all out. Please. I implore you.
Raarrr!! I am Lloyd, guardian of the desert! None shall pass!
Why Raarr? It's the best I could do on such short notice. But, uh, still, prepare to meet your maker and such. Uh... Grrr!
It's a madhouse! A MAAAD HOUSE!!!!
The angel kid from Kid Icarus. Y'know, that cool 3DS game that was made by Sakurai and was completely awesome? Well, this time, it's Pit's first appearance in his first game, Kid Icarus for the NES. He joins Link on his adventure after he falls out of the sky. I don't expect anyone to sound exactly like Pit from Uprising, but I WOULD like him to sound a bit youthful.
Have no fear, for help is here! Behold, for it is I, Pit, the winged cherub! I have come to assist you on your quest! (Falls out of the sky) AAAH! (silence) Ugh... little help?
Well, I was in the neighborhood, and it looked like you could use a hand. Plus, you know, I gotta do something until my big fat Kid Icarus royalty check comes in! Mr. Miyamoto said he put the check in the mail. It should be here any day now...
(Almost losing it) YES, I WAS IN A VIDEO GAME! DOES "KID ICARUS" RING A BELL?! YOU KNOW, THE MOST POPULAR VIDEO GAME OF ALL TIME?!? I WAS A STAR!!! (silence) I'll be fine... just have to get it out of my system every so often.
Sheik finds this mask in the desert. FOr allof you who have seen and/or played Majora's mask, you know exactly what this means. Unlike Ganondorf, I'dlike Majora to be completely dark and menacing. With the occasional clever quip.
Pain... Death... Destruction... Chaos... I bring with me a new age of darkness and despair. The world, nay, the Universe, will be mine to better or to destroy as I see fit. None shall be spared... All will suffer...
What could that moron and his fairy companionbe discussing over there? Hmm, maybe I can listen in, see what they're up to... Holy crap! He's onto me! Now he's going to stop me before I have the chance to carry out my evil schemes! This is terrible! Maybe he only suspects me at this point... I'd better keep a low profile...
Please desist immediately! Your constant barrage is causing me great physical pain! Wait... what's going on? I feel... empowered... perhaps this is some sort of power boost! The power I need to crush my enemies!!! (After failed attempt) ...I believe you were punching my face...
A Goomba that was loaned to Ganondorf by Bowser. Named after Jeff the Goomba from Bowser's Kingdom.
I would prefer it if someone could do the voice of Jeff from Bowser's Kingdom, but if not, then do what what you see fit for a Goomba.

A Koopa that was loaned to Ganondorf by Bowser. Named after Hal the Koopa from Bowser's Kingdom.
Once again, I would prefer it if someone could do the voice of Hal from Bowser's Kingdom, but if not, do what you see fit for a Koopa.

A Blooper that was loaned to Ganondorf by Bowser. Doesn't really have a name, although Samus calls him Davey at one point, referencing Davey Jones. After Zelda escape from right under Ganondorf's nose, the Blooper becomes an important part of his plan: he is put in one of Zelda's dresses and poses as her.
As for his voice, do what you see fit for the Blooper. Oh, and do a couple of takes in falsetto. Cause, y'know, princess posing....
(Explaining) I can't move outside of the water.
So then I said, "Whatever! Don't even go there, sister!"
Well, - wait, bigger than a what? That's crazy talk, there's no such thing as a "breadbox!"

You don't have to go low with the voice. Link won't realize that Zelda is Sheik anyways. Because, well, in this comic, he's an idiot.
Boy, that was easy... amazingly... amazingly easy... Maybe I should go find Link and tell him he doesn't need to rescue me or anything. Cause it sure would suck for him to go fight Ganon... for no... reason... (beat) Maybe I don't have to tell him right away.
Goodness this is a big desert... but I think Hyrule Field is just over the horizon, so I should be home soon. Then I can- say, what's this? That's interesting... it's an old mask... I don't know why, but I bet Link'll get a kick out of this thing.
I gotta find Link before he causes any more damage... If I don't stop him soon, there's no telling just what might happen! He's just gotta learn, there's a certain order to the Universe, and disturbing such a fragile balance could lead to... hey, I'm talking to myself again! I'd better keep an eye on that. Maybe someone in here saw him go by or something... Excuse me, sorry to intrude but I'm looking for someone. He's about average build, wears a green tunic, carries a sword... he's strangling you...

Actually, Link was technically the victor tday. Don't forget, this game stars you, Link. Any and every death (besides your own) adds points to your total score.

The healing lady (no known name) that is in the Town of Ruto (not to be confused withthe sage of the same name). No specific voice type.

You see, for many years, I have dutifully served the peopleof hyrule. Be it the most serious flesh wound or the most miniscule papercut, I tended to all who came asking for aid. But no one ever stuck around any longer than the three second healing process. I became very lonely. All these years, I never asked for anything, but all I ever wanted was a friend.
Literally the most simplistic yetoverly complcated character in the entire series. He even manages to piss off Link.
Very monotonous when speaking regularly. However, when auditioning, be sure to give some fluctuation seeing as how he says I AM ERROR as anexclamation, as a question, and as an overall statement. Go with every type of fluctuation you want to use for the audition. How many times hsould you say the auditionline? Make it to the point where I'll go stark-raving mad.

The green dinosaur from Bubble Bobble. Link, Navi and Pit encounter Bub at the first dungeon in the webcomic where Bub managed to save all three of their lives by... blowing bubbles... do whatever you would like for Bub, just make sure his voice somehow fits his appearance.
(Gloating) Yeeeeah! I beat the Pikachu! Who beat the Pikachu? Bub beat the Pikachu! They said it couldn't be done, but I did it! With those miserable rodents out of the way, my irresistable charm will woo the children and the spotlight will be mine once again! Yep, it looks like everything's coming up Bub!
Uh, now that I think about it, there is a slight snafu concerning my Extend bubble. Well, not so much a "snafu", per se; more like a horrific and unstoppable catastrophe.
You see, when one of my normal bubbles pop, it makes an adorable little "Pon!" sound, and that's it... But when the Extend bubble pops, it results in a massive explosion capable of vaporizing anything within a five-mile radius.
Anybody who's heard of the Legend of Zelda knows about Navi. But for that select few that has yet to experience how annoying Navi is, she was Link's fairy partner throughout the entirety of Ocarina of Time. Annoying, know it all, HEY LISTEN, that bit. Although in this comic, she seems to be the only sane person in Hyrule. Then again, LINK is her partner. As for voice type, I'm not looking for anything specific for Navi. Do what you want for her. I'll know the right voice when I hear it.
It's been a while, Link...
Eh, y'know, hangin' around. Keepin' it real. I did a few stunts as Tinker Bell on the Broadway run of Peter Pan, but the role was just so limiting.
(explaining) Well, it's been so long since I had a real adventure, so I thought I'd gang up with you again.
Edit: So, I read through the entirety of the comics the past few days and I've realized that there IS a Ganondorf in this. So this role will count for both Ganon AND Ganondorf.
The main 'villain' of the series. He wants to get back at Link for everything he's done to him in Zelda I. Mainly because Link was a 'jerk.' Lets see, how do I explain the voice type... well, he should sound kind of goofy or childish, but still being able to give off a menacing feeling. He has a simplistic mindset, thus the plan to 'punch Link in the nose.'
The NERVE of that jerk! "Ooh, I'm Link, the big JERK! Look at me being a big JERK all the time!"
Now how am I gonna get back at that jerk for everything he's done to me?
I GOT IT! I'll go punch him in the nose! That'll show him!
Creator/Author/Narrator role. He doesn't appear throughout the main story but he does make multiple appearances in Bonus/Filler comics.
Really, any voice will fit for him. Just as long as it's not completely over the top. Just make him sound like a normal guy.
Hi everybody! I'm the author of Zelda Comic. (Excitedly) I SAW STAR WARS!! (Note: It was a big deal back then.) Well, I probably shouldn't reveal anything to thoseof you that haven't seen it. I DO value my life, after all... rest assured, however, that it'll rock. Oh, will it ever rock.
Will this guy think of a name? Will our heroes find a way out of this pickle? Will that guy ever pay off his debt to Mr. Nook? I don't know either! Vote for us!
We at ZC apologize for not showing you what is taking place. Rest assured, however, that it is probably the most amazing thing ever seen in any sprite comic. In fact, the image is so incredible, you would die soon after seeing it. So there.
Princess of the kingdom of Hyrule. She convinces Link to let her go on an adventure with him and Navi, then promptly gets kidnapped. However, she is FAR from a minor role. Should have a hint of snobbishnes, but nothing completely overboard.
Link! Fetch me my slippers!
Hold it RIGHT there! You're not going anywhere without me! Every single time you have an adventure, I'm either left behind or a prisoner of Ganon! I'm even worse off than Princess Toadstool: at least SHE got some playtime in Super Mario Bros 2!
Oh, this'll be so much fun! Let me go pack my bags. I'll be right back. (Immediately gets kidnapped by Ganon afterwards) AAAAAAAAAAH!!!
