Thanks everyone so much for auditioning! I'll be casting the roles soon! Thanks so much for everyone's time and effort!
Yu-Gi-Oh GX Memes - Voices Needed!
Project Overview
Hey there! My name is Anthony, and I am the owner of the YouTube channel called DWF Memes! On this channel, I make Image Caption Memes, similar to creators like SolidJJ and others. You can check it out right here!
https://www.youtube.com/@DWFMemes
Today, I'm looking for VAs who can help provide some voice for Yu-Gi-Oh GX memes! If this sounds interesting, check out the details of the roles below!
BEFORE AUDITIONING, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE OKAY WITH AND MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA!
1. You have a good quality microphone. No background hissing. If your microphone doesn't cost five thousand dollars, that's totally fine. Just make sure it sounds decent enough.
2. You must have Discord so I can live direct you through a call for your performance. If you cannot do live direction, unfortunately I won't be able to work with you. In some select cases, your audition may suffice, and call will not be necessary. I will let you know once you're cast.
3. You understand and agree to give me the rights to your voice acting performance for commercial usage in perpetuity. You will still retain rights to your audio performances for things like portfolios or demo reels of course, and you will be credited in the description of the video. Note: none of your performance will be used for A.I. training or anything like that.
4. The content I create may not be suitable for minors, and can include things such as strong language, some innuendos, etc. Please take this into consideration before auditioning, and make sure you're comfortable. It is for this reason we also request that you only audition if you are 18 years or older.
5. If you are cast for this project, the character you voiced may return in the future for another video, so you will be needed to voice them again. Please be open for future work as much as possible!
6. Please understand that to protect the confidentiality of the project, I am generally not able to provide you with the full script of the video. You will usually only be seeing your lines from the video.
7. You will be paid through PayPal to an agreed rate as specified in the role below.
8. The projects I use often contain some usage of A.I. generated content. This is generally stuff like generated visuals, but sometimes also music or other things. Please only audition if you're cool with this.
9. You will be credited in the description of the video with a name you provide me with. It can be a username (e.g. HappyPerson83) or your real name, or whatever you'd like. Please understand, that this is the only credit I am able to provide. I will not be able to link your social media, or anything like that. If you have a YouTube channel, I might be able to @ you, but that's it.
Conclusion
That's all! I simply ask for your help. Of course, I promise to be kind, understanding, and help you with your role in this project as well. If you have any questions, concerns, or anything at all, feel free to leave a comment and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks, I hope you considering auditioning, and have a great day!
Latest Updates
Voice Actor
Alexis Rhodes
closed
Paid: Flat Rate 15 USD
Role Overview: Alexis Rhodes is a strong female Duelist at Duel Academy as well as one of Jaden Yuki's closest friends.
Vocal Tone/Vibe: Confident, calm, not one to back down. Intelligent, but can also talk casual ("Dude seriously?" sort of lines). She is tough, but still has her feminine side. Though in the first season of the show, she's around 15, her voice is surprisingly mature for her age.
Excellent examples of her voice can be heard here. Feel free to imitate this, but you can also add your own spin on it.

Feel free to try something you think works. I'm definitely down to try and work on the voice a bit in the voice call before the recording begins too.
Please note, this character will probably be regular-returning, so only audition if you see yourself available in the future.

Alright my turn. I draw and then I summon Blade Skater! And now I um...bro you ruined my combo. (first part is said confidently as if you're announcing your actions in a game. Last part she begins to struggle, and then talks extremely casually)
My name isn't even spelt right on this. Besides it's not made out to you. (as if pointing out it's obvious you didn't right something, and then pointing out someone made a dumb mistake. Mostly casual tone but not too casual, a bit annoyed)
Well shit. (said flat and kind of fast, a bit unamused)
Voice Actor
Mindy
closed
Paid: Flat Rate 4 USD
Role Overview: Mindy is a student at Duel Academy as well as a close friend of Alexis.
Vocal Tone/Vibe: Extremely over the top valley girl voice. Don't hold back.
Please note, this character may be re-occurring, so only audition if you see yourself available in the future.
Voice description:

- female young adult
#1. Um hello, Alexis is really tall and you're really short. She's got money and you don't. Plus she's good at dueling and you're not. (sassy mocking tone, as if telling off a loser)
#2. Why is he here? That's totally not cool! (generic valley girl sass)
Voice Actor
Rick Harrison (Pawn Stars)
closed
Paid: Flat Rate 10 USD
Role assigned to:
Victor Dial
Yes I'm serious. This is one of the roles.
Looking for an impression of Rick Harrison, best known for starring on Pawn Stars! Being familiar with his style and intonations would be helpful.
An excellent example of what he sounds like can be seen in the below video at the timestamps 4:16 - 4:33
https://youtu.be/vxmOV6hUa-o?t=257
Note: This role is rather small, so if you are chosen, your audition might be sufficient and not need a call.
So what we got here is a genuine goat control deck. Unfortunately the September banlist took out a lot of strong cards. I can give you $20 for everything. (analyzing tone, then providing a bad deal, like Rick does on Pawn Stars)
Fine. $25. Not a penny more. (as if conceeding slightly, then putting your fit down on a set price)
