Yoshihiko Akumu — Minecraft Roleplay

🌸 INTRODUCTION

Hello, everyone!

Welcome to the official casting call for Season 1 of Yoshihiko Akumu, a supernatural Minecraft roleplay produced by Primrose Studios.

Originally started as a side project in 2018, Yoshihiko Akumu ran until around 2019 before being placed on hiatus. The series is now being rebooted and brought back into production, combining vampires of British descent with Japanese-inspired aesthetics.

The story follows the Unwanted Nightwatch, an unusual group of young adults who come from families with histories involving vampire hunting. Rather than following that path themselves, they have chosen to become paranormal investigators, searching for the truth behind spirits and the stories that have been left untold.

Season 1 begins with the group investigating within Gajishan Village, where supernatural encounters gradually lead them toward a much larger mystery involving the village, its history, and the people connected to it.

The series contains elements of supernatural mystery, vampires, ghosts, comedy, drama, family relationships, romance, and darker themes.

This production is made primarily for fun and out of our love for storytelling, Minecraft roleplay, voice acting, and creating something together.

🎙️ CASTING INFORMATION

We are casting a variety of characters appearing throughout Season 1, including members of the Unwanted Nightwatch, the Yoshihiko family, the Ernest family, V.I.C.I.O.U.S., and additional supporting characters.

V.I.C.I.O.U.S. stands for Vampire Inner Circle Insidious of Ultimate Silence and is a vampire group associated with the Yoshihiko family.

Actors cast in major roles may occasionally be asked whether they would like to provide voices for minor or background characters that do not receive individual Casting Call Club listings.

Likewise, if you aren't selected for the character you originally auditioned for but we believe your voice would work well for someone else, we may contact you about another available role.

All primary dialogue will be performed in English.

Some characters have specific accent requirements listed individually. If an accent is requested, we are looking for a natural character performance rather than an exaggerated stereotype.

🎮 MINECRAFT PRODUCTION

Yoshihiko Akumu is produced as a Minecraft roleplay/machinima, with environments, characters, and scenes staged and recorded within Minecraft.

Voice actors do not need to own Minecraft or participate directly in filming unless a particular activity is specifically announced.

The production includes custom-built and modified environments used to bring locations such as Gajishan Village and the surrounding areas to life.

🎲 CAST MINI-GAMES & ACTIVITIES

One thing we enjoy doing at Primrose Studios is giving our cast opportunities to interact outside of recording sessions.

We occasionally host mini-games such as Hide and Seek, Prop Hunt, Never Have I Ever, Among Us/Among Us Hide and Seek, and other games the cast may be interested in.

These aren't serious acting requirements. They're simply a fun way for cast members to become comfortable with one another, mess around, and sometimes discover fun aspects of their characters along the way.

Participation in these activities is generally optional unless otherwise stated.

💬 WHAT TO EXPECT

If you're cast, expect to be welcomed by Buni, the creator behind Primrose Studios, along with the rest of our cast and production community.

We want Primrose Studios to be a place where voice actors, artists, builders, writers, and other creators can meet people who share their interests and collaborate on something fun.

Our primary form of communication is Discord.

Because scripts, announcements, recording information, production updates, and cast communication are handled there, cast members should be comfortable using Discord and checking the production server when needed.

🎤 WHAT WE ASK OF VOICE ACTORS

• First and foremost, have fun! This project exists because we enjoy creating stories together.

• Please submit the cleanest recording you reasonably can. Basic noise reduction is fine, but please do not add character effects, reverb, distortion, or heavy processing unless specifically requested.

• Multiple takes are welcome. Around three takes is a good standard, although additional takes are completely fine.

• When submitting final lines, WAV is preferred unless another format has been discussed with the production team.

• Please follow the emotional or delivery directions included with your lines.

• Occasionally we may request a retake if a line needs a different delivery or there is an audio problem. We try to keep these requests reasonable because we understand that our actors' time is valuable.

• If something prevents you from recording by a requested deadline, please communicate with us. We'd much rather know you need additional time than have you disappear.

• Do not share scripts, unreleased footage, major story information, or other production material outside the team without permission. Yoshihiko Akumu is heavily mystery-driven, and we want viewers to discover its secrets through the series itself.

• Please be respectful toward your fellow cast and crew members.

Actors will be credited for their performances.

🌸 ABOUT YOSHIHIKO AKUMU

At its heart, Yoshihiko Akumu is a story about a paranormal investigation team walking directly into something much larger than the ghost hunt they expected.

The Unwanted Nightwatch was created by Hikaru Minori and Sakura Blossom, two young adults who chose paranormal investigation instead of following their families' reputations as vampire hunters. Their investigations are driven by a desire to understand spirits and uncover truths that others have allowed to disappear.

Their investigation of Gajishan Village brings them into contact with ghosts, vampires, old family conflicts, and mysteries surrounding a village whose history is far stranger than it initially appears.

Some things were forgotten.

Some things were hidden.

And some things never actually left.

Primrose Studios is a nonprofit creative group built around bringing together people from different artistic mediums to create original stories and projects.

Our productions combine voice acting, writing, artwork, Minecraft building, machinima, music, and roleplay.

We're not expecting everyone who joins us to be a professional voice actor with a thousand-dollar recording booth. We're looking for people who care about their performances, communicate with the team, and want to have fun creating something together.
