"Who wants to be an Ultimate?" is a non-profit Danganronpa fan project in the form of a fully voiced audio drama series.

It is most people's dream to become an Ultimate one day. After all, the Ultimate Scouting Organization will set you up for life if you end up earning that title. Some people will fullfill that dream and become Ultimates, while some people will be close to doing so, but be deemed as not good enough right next to the finish line. Those people become Nulltimates, and while they're still extremely talented, it's a title that is often looked down upon by many.
In order to give Nulltimates a second chance, the USO partnered with Monochrome Studios to launch "Who wants to be an Ultimate?", a reality TV show to pit Nulltimates against Ultimates, a battle of the greatest versus the great, to find out if the difference between them is that big, or if they're more similar than people think.
Many Ultimates and Nulltimates auditioned for the show, but ultimately it was 15 of them that found themselves receiving that awaited callback. However, it would end up turning into a nightmare for them, as they would find themselves trapped in Monochrome Studios, forced to play a killing game between Ultimates and Nulltimates aired on national TV.

This project will deal with heavy topics such as violence, death, graphics depictions of gore and other upsetting material, so please be aware of such before auditioning. You must be 16+ or turn 16 before the end of this year in order to audition.
Please add a form of contact to your audition in case we need to reach out to you. Discord and/or email are preferred.
This is a long-term project that may take a long time to finish, so please keep that in mind before auditioning. No roles will be cast before the deadline of September 30th. Callbacks may be sent out to those that are shortlisted if it's deemed necessary, but it isn't a guarantee.

Thank you so much to everyone that has auditioned for "Who wants to be an Ultimate?" thus far! As of today, there are 5 days left to submit auditions. All auditions sent before 11:50PM (CEST) on the 30th of September will be listened to and considered.
Regarding callbacks, they will be sent within 48 hours through Discord. The user sending friend requests will be "2_empty_". Please keep an eye on your Discord friend requests once the deadline passes.
Each character will have two callback lines, following the same format as the ones you can see in this casting call. The deadline for these lines will be on the 15th of October at 11:50PM (CEST). After this deadline passes, people who are cast will be contacted through Discord within 48 hours.

Akari is a young girl who works in a cutthroat industry and acts accordingly. She’s very deliberate when it comes to choosing her personal relations, always looking for whatever will benefit her the most.
Her voice is of a high pitch, yet it still has a fuller sound to it. Her tone should be peppy and confident.

Akira is a very judgemental person who doesn’t even bother hiding it. She dislikes all Ultimates and even the Ultimate Scouting Organization itself, and she also holds a disdain for people that don’t seem to go through any hardships. She’s short-tempered and doesn’t bother sugarcoating her thoughts.
Her voice is of a medium-low pitch and should have a fair amount of rasp. Her tone should be cold and direct.

Maro is a perpetually tired young man who looks younger than he is. He always speaks in the third person and very slowly, thinking through everything he says before doing so. He’s a very smart person, although people tend to overlook that.
His voice is of a medium-high pitch. His tone should be airy, slow and sleepy.

Megumi is a shy girl who struggles to get her voice out due to her stutter. She likes taking things at her own pace, but she’s still extremely organized. She’s also a bit of a crybaby, easily affected by other people’s opinion.
Her voice is of a medium-high pitch. Her tone should be extremely soft and have a stutter. Feel free to take liberties in regards to the placements of her stutter on her dialogue.
